i dont think anyone really believes that he is.
i know he was sent on to play wide, but if he had been put on up front it would have been instead of heskey and i have my doubts as to whether gabby would have scored that header, so in todays game you have to say that gh got it right.
i think he was also put there just to try and stretch the play out a bit and effectively help our defense out by putting on someone with pace, without changing our formation. everybody knows gabby is quick and by having him on the pitch it means that an extra player from the opposition has to stay back when they attack.
on a more general note regarding it, i think gabby needs to be sent out wide sometimes so that when he makes a run he can attack the goal rather than doing what he tends to do - starting a run from the middle and ending up by the corner flag.
