  1. i think it is all about distribution rights for the images many thanks slov, appreciate that
  2. could one of you guys forward the link to me too pls if you have one for the goals, cheers
  3. thats great to hear. it is great for some of the younger/fringe players to get the chance to play at a full villa park, hopefully it will give them the incentive to really push hard to get in to the first team.
  4. what you lot said! get through, thats what matters. good work from mon to let the others have a game, shame about having to use milner but by the sounds of it he might have made the difference between a win and a replay. its wierd this season - actually getting excited about cup draws again!
  5. from the mirror, of all places: "Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce achieved the staggering feat of complaining that his side was robbed after conceding six" they were dangerously close to showing a bit of moral support for the villa there!!!
  6. off yer head mate, how can you rate gabby higher than heskey for tonight?
  7. can i take this opportunity to draw attention to much maligned heskey - quality rounding the keeper (even if he was an his ar se by the time the ball hit the net) and even a bit of back-heel showboating from him too
  8. to be fair to him yillan - you cant conceed 4 goals at home and say it was a perfect performance!! no time for bickering though now chaps...
  9. Hope Guzan isn't doing the punching ;-) no, that would be pleased as flap...
  10. this is right up our alley now. blackburn have to attack and they are a man down. space all over the pitch for us to counter attack - would be nice to see gabby on the score sheet
  11. long ball over the top, gabby clean through with two defenders hot behind him. as he was about to shoot from just inside the box the defender to his right slid in from behind and up-ended him. looked a little bit dubious in real time because he came up with the ball, but on the replay he clearly floored gabby before making any contact with the ball.
  12. tell you what - this thread will make some funny reading come tomorrow morning!!
  13. come on lads, keep the faith. it wouldnt be the villa if we didnt do it the hard way...
  14. from the bbc live updates: Gareth Southgate on Match of the Day: "The only hope I can see for Blackburn is exploiting Villa right-back Carlos Cuellar who is good going forward, but might struggle against pace. I think Sam Allardyce will tell Martin Olsson to get at him." carlos good at everything EXCEPT going forward!
  15. it said that carew was injured in training on bbc
  16. as far as sky are concerned: if it isnt on sky it isnt happening
  17. i was actully thinking of a tenner on blackburn to win 2-1 as an insurance policy to very slightly soften the blow if it all goes horribly wrong. you just know that if we cock this up it will be an away goals thing so at 16-1 i figured it would buy me enough vodka to numb the pain for a few days!!!
  18. I honestly couldn't care if it works or not. I was screaming for a change as my old man was throughout after about 60 minutes. Delfouneso and Delph or just Delph. I couldn't care it didn't work but I watched 90 minutes of pure crap when at no point in the game I personally sensed "goal coming" and when it's 0-0 and the opposition starts to get on top, like they did for 15 mintues, why isn't O'Neill going, "well we're not doing anything anyway, might aswell go for it" Macheda - United springs to mind, again that's not going to happen often however when it isn't going your way and your not looking like scoring, sometimes you just need something different and that's what we needed today, it was set for added energy in the middle or a peice of skill in the area. Yes because Macheda is banging in the goals at the moment. Macheda against us was a total fluke, a huge gamble that payed off. I'm sure had he not scored, you wouldn't see so many United fans spunk buckets over him. I understand your point, but I don't think today was the kind of game Delf could of had a major impact, I may be wrong but that's my opinion. it may have been a huge gamble that paid off, but if you dont take that gamble then it wont ever pay off will it? we dont score for 80 minutes - what makes mon think that will score in the next 10? dont get him at all at times like that. no one is saying go to two at the back as if we are losing the fa cup final, but surely throwing on a random element such as a young striker is hardly risking much - especially as the three senior ones havent managed to trouble the keeper all game.
  19. in one word? that was just, oh so........'villa' wasnt it? ps - all the blackburn talk is b0ll0cks - they are a goal down so will have to come and attack so we will look good against them in the week. today was that age old problem that a team that wants to draw against us by packing the midfield WILL get a draw because we have no means of overcoming it.
  20. cant speak for you, but villa are always hit and miss until we get the first goal no matter where we are playing it seems!
  21. great - glad its still 0-0, only just got in about 5 mins ago so i havent missed anything! lots of goals now chaps in the second half
  22. cant see west ham having the quality in midfield to stifle milner today, in fact - this is the sort of game where milner can get himself in all of the headlines - run the game and score a goal or two. we are at home against poor opposition - tricky game or not, anything short of a good win will be considered an underacheivement. west ham dont have a single striker to pick from so we really should be playing for goal difference here, not just three points.
  23. Ya it saddens me seeing him out so wide! gabbys problem is he runs from the middle out towards the wings whether he has the ball at his feet, is chasing it, or making a run in to space, which means that whenever he actually gets the thing under control he is stuck out wide. he needs to drift out wide a bit but then make runs at the heart of the defence so that milner can play him in into dangerous positions. if you look at our goal tonight, gabby is running towards the corner flag when milner lays the ball to downing - thankfully milner chose to send the ball right rather than left. gabby has his moments but he also has things to learn.
  24. yup - i said the same thing in the match thread.
