Just wondering are the Irish outraged about the seeding system now? :winkold:
Yes as they can't play the Czech's. :winkold:
Walters has been excellent for Stoke in the last 6 months, surprised he isn't starting with Keane.
-
Venezuela are one of the most improved teams in international football.
-
Tremendous goalscorer but it is true to say his hold up play is flakey and he dosen't win a huge amount of headers so it might help to stop hoofing the ball...
-
Serious question though, where are all the good young players for Sweden, Mellberg's still playing for them aswell.
Only decent one looking at that team is Olsson from Blackburn.
-
Lithuania must not even be trying as this is an awful Czech team nowadays and unless they draw Estonia I doubt they'll get through the play offs.
That was our B team with a couple of regulars like Cech and we dominated. Czechs are very underrated and we will do well.
Lithuania beat you at home earlier in the group..
You were lucky with the penalty at Hampden and Levein completely bottling attacking you in Prague.
The last decent Czech team was in 2004 when Rosicky and Baros were younger than much better than the broken versions we have now and Nedved, Poborsky and Koller were all still around. Arguably should've won that tournament.
-
Can't believe Sweden are beating Holland and are currently going through as the best 2nd place team, will add nothing to the euros as Anders Svensson is their captain who must be about 50 nowadays.
Hopefully Bosnia can hang on in the 2nd half against France.

Why would we sell Gabby? No-one rates him enough.
I'm sure there are, quite a few clubs were after Carlton Cole this summer and Gabby is a much better striker than he is.
-
To me Gabby is one of the more underrated players in the league, always amazes me when fans of other clubs (and even on here ) just seem to think he's a speed merchant.
Maybe in 2006 but since then he's improved his strength, finishing and his technique seems to have come on a lot over the last 6 months. Only thing I'd like to see from him now is to go on to regularly score more than once in a game, when he scores one goal he often dosen't regularly go on to get a brace or even a hattrick. once he does that he could be touching 20 goals.
I think I also put it on here a few years ago after he scored against Fulham, he's also reasonably two footed as he set up the Bent goal with his left foot and he's scored quite a few with his left down the years.
-
He's started the season reasonably well (as he did last season) but badly at fault for the goal on sunday. He should've headed that ball back to Given or out for a corner but too easily muscled out by DJ Campbell.
-
Tbf I'll say it every friday to try to jinx them. :winkold:
-
Spurs will win tommorrow.
-
Is it me or is he staying on his feet more playing for them?
The main thing imo is Fergie isn't pandering to Young by trying to play him centrally. He's recognised Young is much better out wide.
-
Similar to Given our James is. I know a West Ham fan who said this to me the day we signed him.
"When he plays, he's a warrior, you'll love him - problem is - he won't play that often !"
and he was right wasn't he.
Not really, he played 30 games for us in his first season and 25 last season so he hasn't been as injury prone as at West Ham.
Has his uses in games where teams use the high ball but gets dragged out of position too often for me.
-
Gabby will start instead of Heskey imo.
-
Makoun, Petrov and Ireland will be the three central midfielders tommorrow imo with Gabby, Zog and Bent ahead of them.
Delph's not quite up to speed yet so I think he'll be a sub for the first few games.
-
People like Makoun. The jumper was a good start. Now he's in awith his Villa jersey on. His debut against United didn't hurt. People want to like their own players (as shameful and laughable as that clearly is on here). He has more to prove to everyone before he will live up to some of the hype but he has shown in flashes what he can do and because he is liked he will be given every chance to do so. A full pre-season with some much needed acclimatisation will hopefully stand him in good stead. But as confusing as it is to you that he is so liked, it is equally confusing to me that you wish to deride the player in an attempt to somehow prove to everyone else that our player isn't that good. Whatever floats your Villa-supporting boat though I suppose.
Fair enough but it's hardly Salifou levels is it, when an unused squad player had his own chant from the Holte.
Anyway, I think Makoun will come good this season. He showed glimpses of quality in games last season and I think he's one of these players that needed 6 months to settle into the English game.
-
What's this cult status Makoun is supposed to have anyway?
-
He was shite aswell.
When's Adler back?
-
Whelan will accept 10m.
-
I'm with Gareth and others, walk away.
Supposedly, we were told that the price was 9m. We bid 9m. Then DW says "sorry old chaps, the price is 10m". Say we then bid the 10m, there's no reason to doubt that DW will do it again and say "actually old bean, the price is now 11m", and so on, until the price is closer to 15m. Is that still a good deal?
At the end of the day, i'm not sure that N'Zogbia is this panacea to cure all Villa's ills, and there are alternatives out there.
Hope not as then we'd have the prospect of eck coming up with SWP and McGeady as replacements for Young and Downing.
-
Not a huge fan really.
He's got a dodgy shoulder aswell now so stand by for him being injured a few times next season and Guzan or whoever our number 2 will be playing a few prem games.
-
Won't miss him at all, him being around next season will just mean blocking the Fonz and Weimann even getting on the bench and we don't want to dispirit those two.
Doubt the club will miss his 60k a week wages either.
-
Van Gaal would be a coup.
