This stupid idea for selling records. For some reason people have pledge $15,000 to it on kickstarter, the phrase 'hand-curated' is pretty annoying too.

 

Am I right in saying, they send you records, and you either keep them (and I assume pay for), or you send them back? Isn't it just an updated version of Britannia Music Club?

I presume it's clever vinyl that can't be ripped? Otherwise, er, ...

 

 

I don't know what Britannia Music Club is, well I've heard of it, I just don't know how it works.

 

On the site I linked to, you pick from their list of 'vibes' and they send you some records based on that, you don't even know what your going to get. Just the idea of someone else picking your music like that seems wrong to me. Rough Trade's album of the month subscription is similar and something else I don't understand at all

 

 

I believe the somebody else picking the music gives the potential to hear something you like, that you would not have picked if left to your own devices. You get to discover stuff.

 

It a copy of Chapar (www.thechapar.com) but for Vinyl instead of clothing. I get the Chapar but my taste is too eclectic for it to be useful

If he needs to rely on the battery, then a phone with exchangeable batteries would seem essential.

 

I don't know how you measure the strength of internet, but I assume you are talking about the network's performance here. Tell him to stay on the same network.

I mean speed rather than strength, which i gather means 4g over 3g?

So my brother in Law has cracked his Samsung G4 mini and asked what phone he should get but doesnt like larger phones. Other thing to note is he uses his phone to trade constantly and needs strong internet and a pretty good battery life. Although is happy enough with his G4 Mini.

are the best suggestion the moto G 2012 4g and the HTC m8 if he doesnt mind going slightly larger (hes on vodafone)?

Put up 3,000 points and don't make the playoffs (not unless Julio Jones sets a WR record). I can look back at more than one week my team didn't perform, I only needed that one extra win. Gutted

Not all of it's fake, though. The great Graham Linehan is always trying to point out that his shows are filmed in front of an audience.

I heard him say once that it can be a pain in the arse because sometimes the audience finds stuff funny that isn't supposed to be, so on occasion he has turned it down a bit when editing. I think the opposite is true in American comedy where they feel they need the audience to wet themselves twice a sentence. The Big Bang Theory especially, I have no idea how anyone can find it as funny as the audience supposedly does, it really puts me off watching.

 

Have you seen any of the video clips where they take out the "canned laughter" you will see that they actually film with extended pauses to fit it in.

i was already questioning my trade.... just cant see Gio taking the majority of the snaps now and you cant not play someone after Gray's week, well unless your Belichick, of course

I'm struggling to understand how you can be considered rehabilitated when still proclaiming your innocence.

Fair enough but that is the system we live in and he should not receive special treatment because his job is more prolific/better paid than other people in his scenario.

My thoughts are that if the penal system etc are happy for him to have a job, there should not be restrictions other than that of a safety issue (pedophiles and schooling etc) and thus if a team is willing to take him and his baggage on that is for him to decide.

Whether his punishment for his crimes are severe enough is another story but theoretically he is rehabilitated and on his way to rehabilitated and should be given a second chance.

We've been chatting online for a little while so should be plenty to talk about, which makes the whole nerves thing even more bemusing!

 

Last time I had a date I made the mistake of drinking half a bottle of JD beforehand for some dutch courage and to calm the nerves, won't be doing that again!

1. Arizona - last pick of 11th round

2. Wes Welker - first pick of 4th round

3. Forsett - Killed it for me. Hoping Jennings and Kenny Britt will prove great pick ups aswell

4. Denard Robinson for Forsett & Ivory - Denard being able to play WR means that i could play all 3 of Jennings, Gio Bernard and Denard as long as they are all fit and will be strong going into the playoffs if i get there (especially with Josh Gordon now back)

5. Denard Robinson for Forsett & Ivory - would not have lost last week if i did not make this trade. Jennings and Bernard both were injured.

Overall the squad is starting to look fairly decent but it might be too late.

Trade hasnt even happened yet and its already bitten me in the ass, both starting rbs ruled out for the weekend

With no injuries and players obtaining their expected points its actually better for me (although very good for him also) but its way more risky. Big risk but that's the fun

Guess no one is interested in Ivory for a WR. Made some offers which seem to be beneficial for both parties

Is there a reason why the London game is on so early rather than 6 GMT?

Its a test to see if West coast will still watch / if viewing can compete with Soccer in the UK.

I believe viewing for this game will be one of the main factors behind the decision to bring a team to GB/London

Just tried a straight swap Ivory for Denard and it got rejected

Thought that was a pretty good offer considering Ivory is a proven starting RB and the only 1 good week Denard had, Ivory still outperformed him 

If they brand it as a British team, I'd happily support them in none-Giants games. If they go with the London angle, then why would I support a London team? They're as little to do with me as New York.

 

So if its called British they have more to do with you but if its called London it has as little as New York? 

I dont think Loyalty like that is a trait to admire, I would say the most Loyal fans are liverpool fans and they nearly seem like a cult but as i am on a soccer forum i will leave it there as there is no point arguing the case. We will agree to disagree.

The London Franchise will no doubt tank and attending games at wembley will never be anything like the real thing due to this loyalty which as i said is a shame.

It won't be like that though. Fans of American football in the UK already have their teams, and very few will change. Then it's a reliance on the current American football fans going to watch American football because they like American football and then people who are interested in seeing what it's like. 

As a Panthers fan, would I make noise on 3rd & 1, no, probably not. 

Things like this take a generation to embed, and the NFL isn't gonna hang around in London for a long time.

Its a really big shame though. How good would it be to go to your teams home NFL game 8 times a year?

The stubbornness of supporters in the UK is irritating

I'm doing my dissertation on this so I'll be getting you all to do a survey at the start of next year 

 

Be interesting though, but I just can't see it working. 90,000 a week 8 times a year is gonna be ask. I mean, if Carolina play then I'd definitely go and maybe 1 or 2 others. I just don't think there's enough casual fans that would fill the stadium 8 times. 

If everyone supported the London team or at least the majority would then id buy a season ticket. However i can see there being more fans of each visiting team and i wouldnt be interested in that. I want to hear deafening sound on 3rd and goals etc. So i would buy if over a large quantity of tickets sold were season tickets.
