  1.

Polish league  is in terms of quality around Championship / League 1 ( some teams ).

So he's definitely a right player as last year policy  :P

Nothing wrong with it though, although not sure the clips are very useful except the fact he's strong two footed player. The opposition sucks in Polish league.

Should have done a swap with Bannan then.

He'd be fine in Poznan as soon as he discovers Kultowa (pub) and Wisnowka (cherry vodka).  And as soon as he realises Lech is the local beer.  I've been to Poznan twice, it's a great city...

  2. Alcohol is worse than cocaine for sure if abused

True.  I was having breakfast in one of the Wetherspoons in Exeter at 11:15 on a Saturday morning a few weeks ago (we were on a special event) and the place was already about 30-40% full of Wetherspoons' finest habitual drunkards.  There was a table of three of them sitting not too far from us, eating fry-ups and drinking shorts.  One of them must have been about 45-50, and he was shaking so badly he could barely co-ordinate his cutlery with the plate.

A chang soldier could have drank right through the night and then sat next to him, downing the same drinks while demonstrating apparent stamina/sobriety.  Then cave in for a good 12 hours at some point in the mid-afternoon.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't like to get stuck heavily into either, which is why I don't.  I barely even drink these days, don't take drugs and haven't smoked for over 10 years.

  3. I've always wondered why ecstacy/MDMA is illegal.  It's not exactly a very dangerous drug - it just suffers the same press as heroin and crystal meth.  I know a lot of people that took a lot of ecstacy in the early 90's, and while the press at the time said they would all end up with Alzheimers Disease by the time they were 30, most are now happily settled down with families and have better than average jobs.

Ecstacy is an enigma.  It can be produced by idiots in their garden shed, yet is still safer than peanuts.  If it was manufactured in controlled laboratory conditions and guidelines for it's usage were available, instead of the current Mr Mackey-esque propaganda, it could generate a lot of money for the government and would also take a large section out of the black market.

I don't use it personally, in case anyone is wondering...

  4. Suarez is a very good footballer, but he is also a massive word removed.  Racism and biting would get you sacked in most professions, but it carries a paltry, meaningless ban in football.  The bloke is a disgrace, and the only people that would defend his actions in these two incidents could only be considered clowns.

Balotelli on the other hand, he was entertaining.  He was so unpredictable he made a club with no class interesting...

  5. Have UKIP got any policies about repatriating English ex-pats?  I know a few people who are enjoying their lives in sunnier climes than these.  Will they be forced home?

Yes, I know it's a stupid post, but they are a **** stupid party...

  6. Bent fee is debatable - RVP went for 25m at he's 29. Anyway that's by the by. What I'm trying to get across is we could have somewhere between £60-80m this summer so if we spent just 1/3 of that and trimmed the wage bill things would be looking extremely healthy.

Robin van Persie had just scored 30 league goals.  Bent has scored 2 this season.  I'm saying £5m.  I would like to think it would be more, but realistically, a player that has not played regular football for near-18 months (which it will be by the start of next season) is not going to command a bigger transfer fee.

  7.

"£30m would get 4 players of Benteke's quality (based on he cost £7m last summer) that just haven't been discovered or played at the highest level."

    I suppose that's some consolation.

£30m and Benteke's wages are more likely to get us two £7m players with a little change when you figure in their wages, maybe two and a half.

Fair point. Add in the fact we'll have an allocated budget for the summer spend and we're offloading a few we could be far better off by September.

£20m budget for the summer, £30m for Benteke, £10m for Bent, then probably another £10m in further sales of bit part players. Very rough estimates of course. That could be £70m right there and we'd obviously spend no where near that. I predict our wage bill will be lower next season and the squad will be better. Win win.

£10m for Bent?  He'll be 30 this coming season and he's hardly been on fire since he picked up his injury under dogshit mcleish.  I honestly reckon we'd be lucky to get £5m for him now...

  8. I went there for three days a coupe of years ago.  Three days was too long.  We liked it for a day or so, but then we got lost behind the Souks and lost half a day walking around what I could only describe as slums.  Or Small Heath.

Wouldn't go back to be honest...

  9. Never understood why we didn't just give Friedel another two years instead of a £19m move for given (fee + wages)

It's incredible what's been allowed to happen down B6 these last 4 or 5 years

Hadn't Friedel stated he was leaving before the end of the season?

  10.

Ugh. If they aint dead they should certainly get the lethal injection.

Hope they survive and rot in prison for the rest of their miserable lives. Agree with what others have said re - bizzare reaction from the public in those vids. One woman was pushing what looked like her pram TOWARDS the guy holding the machete covered in blood

Imprisonment is too good for people like this

Capital Punishment needs to be brought back in exceptional cases such as this

Disagree strongly.  Death makes them a martyr to the people that subscribe to their misguided beliefs.  Keeping them alive at all lengths must be the answer.  No luxuries, just a shitty, miserable wasted existence.

  11. Earlier in the thread we decided Bannan's on about 12k, which last we checked, was probably the lowest of our midfielders. He's offered us great value this season.

    Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

I actually think there is something in Bannan, I've seen him play some very good football.  Unfortunately I've seen him play more shit football, and he is well down the pecking order now, due to his own shortcomings.

    Delph / Westwood / Sylla > Bannan

  12. Old saggy face heading back off to the Championship is the best thing about this season.

Given today's quotes, posted after your post here, I doubt Candleface will be heading off to the Championship.  I'd go as far as to say he us trying to get himself sacked, and won't last the month out...

  13.

Fiction but a book by Robin Cook, not the politician. It was about a girl that ate a undercooked burger...Just put me off rare steak

Burgers and steak are completely different though.  An undercooked burger's dangerous because the mince that's been exposed to the air can harbour bacteria.  A steak is one whole slab of meat, thus only the outside of it is exposed and needs to be cooked.  There's nothing about burger horror stories that should be putting you off steak.

    Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis.

  14.

Pretty sure savage backtracked after we smashed the dippers At anfield

Yes he changed his mind. The majority of posters on this forum thought Villa would go down.

No they **** didn't!  There's even a poll which states your post is incorrect.  It was only something like 42% which thought we would be relegated.
