  1. I want them to get relegated again. I don't want to see them go out of business, I want them to shrink to a Walsall sized club. No offence to Walsall, I just want the noses to be one of the minnow teams of the Midlands.

They were quick enough to plunder Oxford a few years back when they spunked all their money on a new stadium. I hope their least shit players are all poached before the end of the window.

And I'd take Davies off their hands at the moment, for about £1m...

  2. I'd like to see Weimann and Benteke up top, N'Zogbia and Agbonlahor either side. I think that could be quite effective. Delph and Westwood in the middle possibly.

No physical presence in the midfield allows players to walk all over us.

  3. I got angry just reading that! She sounds like a right bitch.**** her off and bang one of her mates if you can!

Seriously, as soon as she told you not to speak about something in front of her, I would have got rid! Not to mention she is using you as a taxi service.

    Get rid son! Move on.

And call her a stupid, stuck up word removed infront of her friends. She sounds like a complete waste of your time, and a word removed to boot.

  4. Going for 6 days so I reckon I should be able to see everything I really want to.

Given my friend has lived out there for over 10 years and said he has barely scratched the surface, I doubt you will do it all in 6 days!

  5. Make sure you go to Kats Delicatessan. Tell me what it's like! Hope you have a great time. Very jel.

I went there but the queue was out the door and about 15 feet up the street. It would have taken about 45 minutes to get in and get some food, by which time we had almost travelled back to 110th & Broadway and went to "Tom's Diner" instead.

I've seen the programme though and the place does look good. Might try again next time I go out there...

  6. I went to Cairngorm (Aviemore) with a friend in December 2010 when the country was covered in snow. We drove the 594-mile journey overnight. It took 10 hours. I could have got to anywhere in Europe for that.

We got to the mountain on the Friday morning at about 8:45. The road up to the car park was treacherous. It was closed to the public at 9:00 am and deemed unsafe. The whole country had rather a lot of snow that week, and Cairngorm was no exception. The winds were very high though, and the lifts stopped for about an hour at one point, with the operators at the Ptarmigan Funicular base offering refunds for those that didn't want to brave the -14C conditions or the 50mph winds. Scotland was a lot more humid than Europe or America, and a lot lore windy. It is not uncommon for the wind to blow a lot of the snow off the summit, making conditions particularly poor.

We rode for three days, staying in a hostel at £15/night. Now this is a bargain - driving the 1,200 mile round trip in a diesel Focus cost us about £150, and £30 each for a couple of night accommodation made the trip about £105 for half a week's (considering you only ride for six days during a week's trip to Europe) holiday. Saturday night yielded an extra 10" of snow and the wind dropped off, making Sunday something of a bonus powder day. OK, an epic powder day!

Scotland can be good if there is good snow, but the temperatures can fluctuate wildly, and prolonged heavy snow can often be blown into gullies or followed by rain, making conditions extremely poor. Friends have been to Scotland more than me, but unless you can go at the drop of a hat and don't mind where you stay, you can't guarantee that you will be able to ride when you get there.

Cairngorm has got about 60km of trails, although there was only about 25km open during our trip. The lift pass was still over £30 per day, making it around the same sort of price as most of the larger European resorts. Europe is more likely to yield better and more reliable snow though. Colorado is normally far better than Europe, but I went last year for the new year (fourth trip out there) and the snow was dreadful - it was the worst snowfall for 20 years.

I'm off to Les Arcs in a couple of weeks on a deal I have arranged for 8 people. I don't bother with package deals or agents, it's far cheaper to book holidays yourself. Have a look at the following sites and search for flights with www.skyscanner.net

    www.pv-holidays.com

    www.ownersdirect.co.uk

    www.homeaway.co.uk

The place I am going in Les Arcs is £921 per person for half term for a package deal. I've booked it independently (two weeks before half term) for £360 per person.

In conclusion, Scotland was good when we caught the excellent conditions, but if it gets a bit shit, you might find yourself spending all your days in the Winking Owl. Europe or America are going to be a lot more reliable if you want to spend your days riding.

  7. Just stumbled across the Blues Trust, a Small Heath fans group set up to save their club from the hands of Pannu and Yeung. Just wait until you see the logo!!!

Anyway, while laughing at their site I couldn't help but notice that they have a vacancy and that they have an online application form......

Wouldn't it be terrible if they got a few bogus applications, I feel a little competition brewing :)

I happened to stumble across this the other day while searching around the SHA board for info on the financial reports.

It's all just so incredibly amateur and childish. They were bickering like a squadron of retards over that logo. Definitely worth looking for the thread on it...

  8. With Hutton and Warnock I can only guess that their salary includes appearances bonuses the club don't want to pay only reason to have them essentially training with kids whilst paying them first team salaries

And there was me thinking we were not playing them because they were both shit and a pair of disruptive arseholes...

  9. ...he's had several spells without a club.

We released him because he though he was worth upwards of £50k and we disagreed. He thought he was good enough to play for AC Milan. He signed for Bolton shortly after. Bolton got relegated, he was released because of a contract clause.

We need a DCM and he is a DCM. If the club are not going to spend, we should give NRC a contract until the end of the season, just to have a physical presence in the midfield we are clearly currently lacking...

  10. I form my opinion by watching the players close up at the games.

Using this I think Bannan is an excellent player who's been held back by our poor run over the past 2 seasons.

As we improve and get better players I think you'll see Bannan improve too.

This. I reckon Bannan would shine with a decent DCM next to him, instead of Delph. A lot of what went forward last night went through him.

  11. Given not played hardly of our manager fault, don't blame Given tonight.

He was so utterly shit I'm my not sure I see any reason to play him ever again. He looked like he was out of his depth against a team from the fourth division.

His performance last night reminded me of Adam Rachel coming on after Michael Oakes ghost sent off for handball about 16 years ago. Not attacking Adam there, but for a seasoned international, Given looked like a clueless rookie.
