Yes they will. No way do major infrastructure changes or main branding change not get taken to and authorised by the board.

The problem is it's difficult to bring in a new CEO, give him a brief and then overrule him when he brings his ideas to the board.

You've got to really, really object to what he's proposing otherwise you'll immediately lose the shiny new CEO you've just recruited. Especially in the early days.

NSWE might be slightly uneasy about some things but ultimately if you've brought a man in to run the shooting match you've got to let him do it his way or why bring him in?

That's the way companies work. Senior managers will be attending regular board meetings and reporting on their figures, their operations, major initiatives and projects. The board will grill them and ultimately decide if they agree and support them or deny them and ask them to do something different.

It's not the same as micro management but NSWE will have full oversight and give a yes or no to anything major. They'll certainly be looking for evidence of why a decision has been made and asking probing questions.

Sorry mate, I was attempting to be rhetorical with the previous poster. Absolutely NSWE played pivotal roles in all decisions being made, it's ludicrous to praise them for all positives and absolve them of any criticism for negatives.

If someone is responsible for a crest and we think it is poor then we blame that person. If they are also responsible for implementing a badly thought out money grab, with terrace view and lower grounds, then we blame that person. Starting to get the theme?

NSWE had nothing to do with Terrace View, Lower Grounds or the crest design?

    Go on then . . .

    Ooooh, I like a challenge.

Given I have zero experience and expertise in this role, nor being paid any money to come up with solutions, I imagine my idea will fall short of your expectations.

However, I'll give it a go:

Teams compile their list of expenses for the season ahead and place the money in a holding account with the Premier League. Thus evidencing they have the requisite money to get through the season. If they can't do that, they are docked points at the start of the season.

Done. I've fixed FFP and your sneaky challenge has been met. What a day.

The alternative is no FFP and Newcastle spending £6 billion on players with no restrictions. Two oil state runs clubs battling for titles, while the rest of us get into more and more debt trying to keep up.

No, the alternative is something different to both of those options. It's not "FFP or nothing".

Sounds like Traore and Chambers are surplus to requirements, if they leave nobody will be coming in to replace them.  Anybody else leaves though they will be replaced.  Sounds like Emery is happy with the squad unless some backups leave.

"Sounds like" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

But how will your family survive on you're meagre £60m career earnings? Think of the poor mites!

I'm going to do what Shaquille O'Neal does.

He said in an interview his kids won't get a penny of his $$$ until they have Masters Degrees and are able to pay their own way without the money.

(I'll be telling them this from my terrace in Florence when I'm playing in the famous purple of La Viola).

Of course Heck doesn't get credit for this FFS.

    Unai Emery does.

You think Heck would magically be able to get a massive deal if we were sat in 12th. It's all on the on pitch going.

We'll probably get around 3x the amount if we do make UCL.

So credit really goes to those involved in recruiting Unai Emery.

Come back Mr Purslow, all is forgiven.

He was a beast for me on football manager when I was a teenager...

This is for a different topic I'm sure, but, many Champo's ago I brought a young Bruno Fernandes  toVilla Park from Lisbon. He was a Holte End hero for my all conquering Villans.

So, when it became clear in real life he was a cretinous little ****, it took me a while to drop Champo Bruno and accept Man Utd Bruno.

The thing about this design is that, even if there was something else I preferred, this one captures something that Heck’s doesn’t.  It’s hard to put into words.  The claret on blue, the gold border and the lovely shape.

    It's regal.

or it could be like the Gerrard/ Emery situation where NS felt he needed to step in given the Castore debacle and seeing that he finally had a strong hand to play based on Villa’s on the field performance and star power (Emery, Martinez, Lehman..)

At this point let's just have NS do everything.

Physio: Tyrone back on the pitch in days.

Hospitality: Get a beer in seconds in the Holte End.

Stadium Design: We'll have a 27 tier North Stand by summer 2024.

I legit don't think we are the type of club which attract " plastic " fans regardless of how well we do or how big we get.

I think if anything we gain followers, who then become supporters and fans

Jesus I couldn't stomach having Ally Samatta fans types all over our social media FFS.

Although now I think about it, I have actually been seeing more of those types comment on our OS posts.

The " big club " and Fabrizio Romano socials are overrun with them.

The homophobic rhetoric whenever the club posted a "pride" image, was appalling. Completely with you on that.

That’s because of the “Liverpool” name. They got massive money for youth players and rejects ( from the likes of Bournemouth), which only maybe City would near.

If Solanke can continue this form that signing will look more and more like a brilliant piece of business. On this form, I'd consider him for Villa if / when Ollie leaves.

Pretty sure he scored on debut v Newcastle. Checked - yes was in a 3-1 loss away

I like that this is a two stage post, but wasn't edited.

So you wrote you were pretty sure, checked, confirmed, posted. The tension was palpable after the first full stop.
