  1. Hi General, I am just writing to let you know that I will not be renewing my subscription to AVTV when it expires in August. There are a few reasons, but mainly because of the speed of loading. I have a fairly fast broadband internet connection and I went online to see MON’s interview and after 10 minutes the feed just started to kick in and then I had to wait a further half hour at least so it was buffered enough so I could watch it without interruption. This has been happening for me on AVTV for the last seven months and nothing has changed on my end. In the beginning (the first three months) it streamed fine. After I watched the interview I went on the Sky Sports website and saw another link for it and I clicked on it. After about five second s of buffering I watched the 1.45 interview without any trouble and with excellent quality. Why can’t our own web site, which we subscribe to, work like this? This reason, along with the bad quality of sound at press conferences and poor quality features (with no sign or word of getting better), has led me to my decision. Sorry to let you know this but thought you should know and maybe in the future, if improved, I will subscribe again. But for now I will cancel it. Thank you Well done to the club on the whole Barry thing.
  2. I bought my home shirt in Oxford Street, and away in Miami. Also there was plenty in Ireland, looking forward to new one, wonder who I'll have on the back...HENRY! and if we do I will print the exclaimation mark too. Kepp up good work, I can smell a signing
  3. Good day General, I have a question about the new kit, last year the Nike deal , of course was not finalized until late therefore leading to late release of the home shirts and then later the away…but we know all this my question is now that we and Nike have had plenty of time to sort ourselves out when will the new kit be available and will it be the three strips released at the same time? Cheers, And take a break lord knows you deserve it, and don’t worry we get wireless internet on the beach here in Cayman so you can still keep in touch we us online, but from a deckchair in the sand. Congratulations on the one millionth hit on your thread by the way
  4. About the Barry thing, as you have said if a player wants to go then nothing much you can do about it, if he wants to leave then let him. But I am sure he will feel a bit silly when Villa take Liverpool's Champions league spot next year! On another note what has been the most disappointing for me this season is that every single game that we have had a chance to make major progress we have lost, ie. Chance of going 4th or 5th or going over a rival and also the two cup games we had especially the Leister one. We have never won a vital match this season (I know they all are but you get my drift) Maybe the most important one yesterday. We clearly have major consistency problems and it needs to be addressed. Saying that I think the MON will have a good off season and will have the players and the mentality sorted out by the start of next season, otherwise it WILL be Barry playing in the CL next year. But just like to say overall much improvement all round. Well done to all the guys and especially you for being here for all of us, look forward you meeting you maybe in late summer, or maybe in US Cheers
  5. Hi General, Just a question on the new kit, you had said you have seen it, I thought (don't know why) that the shirt itself would be the same and only the sponsor changed but reading your comments it seems like they are both changed, is this true? It would make sense to change both at the same time as you normally would keep home shirt for two years as with the away and rotate one of them changing every year. So is there also a new design for the away shirt or will we be keeping it for the next season then change?
  6. General, Hi, In this time of negativity I would just like to thank you for all you have done for us, the supporters. I would also like to thank the staff that you come in contact with that help you carry out the jobs that we the supporters ask of you. The easiest one to make an example of is when the powers that be, maybe you even agreed that it may be a good idea, music after a goal was scored. Straight after the game it was played at, there was an influx of people saying please stop the music, maybe in not such a kind way but you took the feedback on and it never happened again. This is a prime example of how important you are to us and this club. Now I know you are much more important to us than this and much more you and the staff have looked after but I felt that this was a good example to show you and all reading this that how you are a great gateway between the fans and the club. (I know you have at least 4 members of higher staff reading this thread along with you) We know you are just like us at this stage and you feel the pain as much as we do, you are Villa now I and we can see this from your mini match reports and your comments about the team. Excuse the comments about MON most believe in him and those who don’t should read this and see it is not your decision or place to make comments about his managerial skills or how he is doing, this will all be sorted and addressed in a place that is not here. I could not be happier with how the fan relations are going, you are top part of that, but we are all disappointed in what has happened in the last couple of weeks but what I am sure of is that all the people involved with Aston Villa are feeling it as much as we are and it will be addressed. Mr. Learner or indeed Mr. O’Neil are not where there are or where they are going because they don’t know what’s going on. I am, like everybody else disappointed in what has happened, but I do know we are going forward and believe we will get there sooner rather than later. This is not a kiss ass post but just the facts as I see them. Cheers, David
  7. I know what you said too General I was backing you up; the apologies that I was asking for were for you! Keep up the good work. Got to win today, hopefully when you read this we will have done that.
  8. Well as you have said in the past the 39th game was only a proposal, today we find out that it is a no go. So all the panic was for nothing really, maybe a few apologies are in order, hmmmm? not one to say I told you so but ... :winkold:
  9. I love the way people say "I don't want to answer for the general but...."and then answer anyway!! I myself am guilty of this twice! it's all very polite, mind you the people who do answer are just saying what has been said, wonder if you get a kick out of it General.
  10. Sorry to hear that the surprise got out, but it will still be very apperciated I'm sure. I have a feeling Villa will do it tomorrow, I really good feeling.
  11. Hi General, I haven't had much to say in awhile, but I am reading all posts as are you!!! I personally think the overseas thing won't happen, well not for a few years after 2011 anyway, to many objections by FIFA not to mention the fans, as we can see. I for one agree they should not move from England. A totally unfair proposal that may work to our advantage, but very well may be to our major disadvantage, not worth it at all. I am Irish and Living in Cayman Islands so I don't get to see Villa at Villa park but I have seen all but two games this year, Villa are looking very good, as we know. You guys are doing a fantastic job and the FAN in that is down to you. In my opinion only two bad results this year, Fulham and drawing at Spurs. Anyway a question, as I am stranded here in the Caribbean I was wondering if you are doing a US tour this year, if so I am gathering you will play in Ohio, and may I ask if you could come south of the US rather than north (I know you may not make it to Cayman!!)so I may get a chance to get to the game! Thank you Cheers Keep it up.
  12. I know this is the General's thread, I am sure the general would agree banter is fine but then don't go and complain to the press or FA about behavoir of villa fans when it was he who was giving the finger as seen on the page before. So your defence of Mr. Redknapp is unwarrented and undeserved, it is he who should be investigated by the FA, and Villa should push for this, as I know you are doing General, Sir.
  13. General where is DE.? Delaware, I guess, East Coast, South of New Jersey
  14. I am watching the game live in Cayman Islands on Setanta Broadband and its fecken great, 1-0 half time!
  15. that is a good idea, I agree the avtv should be free to ST holdaers for sure.
  16. Maybe they already spend enough on the club? Maybe they don't think it is good enough for the price asked? Does that make them not proper supporters or - OH MY GOD - 'fickle' or something? but to say "NEVER" will?? boggles me
  17. I can’t believe that 32% of people said that they haven’t and never will buy it, what kind of statement is that? Or is it because they are so cheap they will never see themselves forking out for it no matter how good it is? These are the people that you will never please no matter what you do.
  18. Hello General, Just to let you and all know I had a similar issue with villa direct, I had sent in an order for home shorts and added a few things because I had to pay $28 shipping anyway. So my order arrived with all except the shorts. I had sent an email everyday for 4 days to the address provided and each day it bounced back(this is a issue that still does to be addressed). Anyway I called the help line and after a bit of a wait on hold I got through to a rep. TAZ was his name, I explained the problem and he put me on hold and when he came back I was told that when the shorts come in they will call me and send them on with the 20% discount that was running at the time and will give free shipping to me, regular mail to Cayman Islands. So I was happy with this. I have not received a call yet. I do think the site should have some kind of info provided when an item runs out via stock counts etc. to prevent this happening again or at least have someone get in contact with the customer before the order is shipped to see if they still want it. I don’t know if John Greenfield reads this thread, but if so maybe he will find this helpful. Cheers
  19. Good day general, I am having some issues with some items I bought online at Villa Direct and I am having these items delivered to Cayman Islands. I have tried to email customer service and the email has bounced back three times. Do you have another email address of someone I can contact and help me resolve the problem I am having? I could email you the issue if you like, but may not be necessary Thank you..
  20. Don't know if anything can be done about this but was the same problem this week
  21. Hi General, Any chance that you could make a suggestion that the reporters at the weekly press conference be given a microphone, as well as MON so that we could here the questions that they ask, as it is very difficult to hear them on Villa world. Cheers.
  22. Hi General, Hope you father is feeling better. I would like to give you all at the club a big pat on the back, why? I am just back from Miami where I was for the weekend and I went into a sports shop in Biscayne Bay Mall and I bought myself and my friend an Aston Villa shirt each. I think this is a wonderful example of what you guys at the club are trying to do, make Aston Villa a global name. So well done to you and well done to Nike. Trying to put in two pictures from the shop but I can't!!!!!
  23. Great idea It would super if the club could make this happen
  24. Well done General and Randy, you deserve this result as much as we all do, nearly in tears watching the game!!!
