Looks like we are basically doing what we all do on Football Manager.  I've confidence our scouts are identifying the right talent.

I understand what you're saying 😄 I am normally of that attitude, but im involved in Norwegian youth football - and this kid tho! I have seen this type of gem only a few times. I saw it in Haaland while he was still playing here. Odegaard was amazing at 15, yet I doubted him a little as I thought Spain might have 10 of these talents for our one, but he proved me very wrong. Bobb I have seen from the age of 12, he was always going to make it professionally - the question was just how high the level. Nusa - WOW! I am excited to see just how good this guy can get. I believe he can go to the very top.

I am praying that if we are going for another winger, we go for Antonio Nusa from Brugge. 18 year old Norwegian. In no doubt, the next big one from our country! He has been the standout player for the national team in the last matches, is playing regular for Brugge and is really developing into something special. He made his debut in the Norwegian top division at only 16 years old and started scoring from his third game. He played and scored in the Champions League at 17 years old. The kid is something else!

Seems like Tottenham is getting him for a fee around €30M. A steal and such a shame it is not us. You will see him tear up in PL next year. Better than Oscar Bobb and two years younger. This kid is Odegaard-esque, just as a winger.

  4. Linked to Joshua King again. Maybe not the most exciting option, but makes sense. Proved that the can score goals on the top level, free agent in the summer so probably cut-price, wages probably not too high, Norwegian 🇳🇴💪. Deano been talking about looking for value for money deals.

Would be a good competitor for Watkins, and make it easier to take him off when tired or not performing. But not an improvement on him

  5. Realistically. I think a new LB might be a priority, to both challenge and cover for Targett. Also a new CB if Engels leaves in this window. Don't think we will see much else happening. I think Deano & co might want to see what Wesley has to offer upon return before we invest in a new striker.

Regarding a new top class midfielder/winger. It's more of a dream scenario than realistic. Yes, our wingers have performed quite well, but we're lacking quality in depth. The top sides have almost just a strong of a bench as the starting 11. Ultimately, we would want to be able to rotate in tough schedules, not be too badly hurt by injuries to key players, and to see that even those that are performing well always has someone breathing down their necks for a starting spot.

  6. We've not exactly been spoilt during the years, so can understand the relief of actually performing well at the top level. That said, i've been around a bit too long to fall in the "optimist trap". We have an exiting team atm, but are over-archieving compared to some teams that are even better on paper.

All honour to Deano and staff for that, but honestly, we are only a Jack injury away from dropping down again. Let's see what happens. Im preparing for the worst, and ofc hoping for the best. UTV no matter what.

Edit: The last time we played in europa we had a very good side. Carew, Milner, Young etc. Then we sold our best players, Laursen retired and the downfall started. Memory also brings me back to a time where I thought Nathan Delfouneso was going to be next Pele 😳

  7. In other news, Im reading that Leeds are in for Julian Draxler from PSG. He is a free agent in the summer, so not too expensive either.

If they can get him, we definately can. Both he and Buendia can play both central and out wide. Would be ace to get one of them me thinks.

I see mild speculation about sivert mannsverk, an 18yr old Norwegian central midfielder from Sogndal

Any of our Scandi based VTers know much about him?

Clearly one for the future but I like our recent thoughts on the recruiting for youth set up

Captain and stand out player in the norwegian second division. From the little i've seen he has very good vision, good passing accuracy and is calm on the ball. Quite impressive for a 17 (now 18 year old).

If he is ready for the PL is a different question, probably a way to go. But definately an interesting prospect.

When it comes to young players: I firmly believe that aquiring (or scouting for) skill will only take you so far, and that mentality/attitude, personality and work rate makes the difference in terms of reaching the highest level in the end. Given that he has been given captaincy over players 10-15 years older than himself (and outshine them on the pitch) tells me that this must be quite a special lad.

  9. She said "deffo French" - very strange indeed.

Have we been linked to anybody French this window? Of course it'll most likely be somebody completely obscure if we are signing somebody.

Been linked with Bedimo (or something like that, left back at Lyon). Also, Ciani from Lazio is rumoured to be in England. Villa has not been mentioned/linked though, only Norwich and Cardiff.
