  1. I have not posted on here for many a year, but was moved to do so by the marvellous comments made by our future King (Prince William) regarding the continuing Royal patronage of our great club. "When Villa thrash Man Yoo at Villa Park, my son will be there". I trust this means that little Prince George will be visiting us in December! UTV!
  2. So true mate, Isn't it horrible though that us fans are actually hoping we get a point (at home) to a team low in the form table (Spuds). This is a game that a year or so ago, we would be quite easily looking to grab 3 points as a given... It is all AM's fault!! I'm sorry but what?! Maybe not last year but pretty much every year before that. And hopefully soon again. Err it seems the red mist of hatred towards AM sometimes turns our sunglasses into a healthy shade of rose. We have only beaten the spuds twice (2007/2008 home game, 2008/2009 away) in 12 games. Spuds have won 5 of those....
  3. Dear General, I have attended each of our last 3 appearances at Wembley and would just like to say that the purchase of my ticket for the CC Final was the easiest (and warmest) of them all. Certainly the e-ticketing website was a bit of a white knuckle ride - numerous scary error messages - but for me at least it worked and I was all done in about 3 hours. Some of the posters who propose a return to the good old days of sleeping overnight outside the ticket office and collect-in-person are obviously fortunate enough to live in the vicinity of Villa Park, or at least in the Midlands. As I now live about 100 miles away, the online purchasing option was a God-send. Thanks and Keep the Faith - UTV
  4. Dear General, I like your Disney World test of Greatness/ Sanity. Might I suggest you ask your physician whether a couple of weeks in Devon/ Cornwall might fit into your recuperation plan next summer? The Villa shirt count is very impressive down there! Keep the Faith & UTV!
  5. Last two lines are "Tony Daley down the wing like a torpedo, puts the ball into the air. to Tony Cascarino" i think mate Mmm - you might be right, it was quite a long time ago - however, your version seems to have too many syllables (12) in the "Tony Daley down the wing like a torpedo" bit whereas it needs 10 to scan.... Anyway happy days!
  6. Nigel Spink, rolls the ball to Platty Flicks it on to Paul McGrath who passes it to Daley Tony Daley takes it to the byline - puts the ball in to the air For Tony Cascariiiii no
  7. The older lags might recall that we used to sing a decent song in the 89/90 season (I think) which went something like this: Nigel Spink, rolls the ball to Platty Flicks it on to Paul McGrath who passes it to Daley Tony Daley takes it to the byline - puts the ball in to the air For Tony Cascariiiii no I thought we might be able to do something similar for the current team: Scott Car-son rolls the ball to Barry Flicks it on to NRC who passes it to Ashley Ashley Young takes it to the byline Puts the ball into the airrrrrrrrrrr For Gabriel Agbonlahor Doesn't quite scan on the last line but maybe someone can improve it. What do you reckon?
  8. Not much can take away from the superb result today - superb! I don't want the club to get prosecuted though so I thought I would add to the other smoking reports. The toilets in the Holte Upper had a number of Half Time smokers. I saw a steward walk through, look at them, and walk out - but I guess he was outnumbered. Surely this is something the Police could assist with - they are often in the Holte end anyway - checking to see if anyone is standing up - so maybe they should be called to keep the toillets smoke free. Hopefully they won't get over zealous and start arresting people who are standing up in there too
  9. General, My mate and I exchanged our SC seats from the Holte Upper to the Trinity lower today and bought two child ticket for some of our kids. I am pleased to say that our cards worked perfectly so this problem is not universal for exchanges.... which I guess might make it harder to fix. Many thanks to all at the club for a great day today!
  10. Dear General Could you confirm how many times you have either screamed out loud with frustration or slapped you forehead whilst reading the forums over the last week or so? For what it's worth I am in double figures for both so far this week! Seriously I do marvel at your patience!
  11. Thanks General, We have watched the facade of the Holte decay and deteriorate over a number of years - an apt physical manifestation of the club's gradual decline. Like everything else we have heard, but more importantly seen since Randy arrived on his white charger (team, stadium, infrastructure, crest etc.), the approach has been sensitive to the club's supporters and traditions and firmly focussed on high quality improvements. I see little reason to doubt that the Holte hotel will be any different and should be wonderful as you say. Should be an exciting summer! Maybe the opening of the Holte Hotel will coincide with the new Kit Launch?
  12. Dear General I think the confusion seems to be due to the fact that the letters which people think are the renewal packs are not actually the Renewal Packs. The two page letter from Richard Fitzgerald is to encourage us to renew, to inform us of the 'frozen' price tariff and the renewal dates. On line 5 it says "Your renewal pack will be with you shortly" so it should have been fairly clear. I suspect we are just not used to having such regular communication with the club, so when we receive a letter talking about season ticket renewal, it triggers the Season Ticket renewal reflex. I too experienced difficulties with the online renewal - which was disappointing - so I just phoned up and renewed on the phone.
