  1. Rumblings on twitter about someone coming home? No names as yet. Anyone heard if we are trying to tempt Barry back?

You mean the tweet from someone with about 120 followers?

We've been down this road before. It doesn't matter. You see followers, I see someone who's been around a while and has been saying there's no buyer for villa since all the madness started.

who is this twitter user may I ask
  2. Just started getting them again.

VT s currently running with advertisers who we've been using since before January. Is it possible you've got some stuff cached? Might be worth trying a different browser or clearing cookies and cache.
I've had this many times last couple of days too. Always the same flash player link
  3. Bit harsh that you have to dig through the site to find out that he has left, with a great article:

"The club can confirm Jordan Bowery has joined Rotherham on a permanent deal."

No word from the AVFC Twitter either.

I cant even find the confirmation

  4. Sky sources understand that Joe Cole is halfway through his medical at Aston Villa and that he has turned down more lucrative offers from abroad in order to remain in the Premier League.

  5. I for one see this as an improvement. Baker and Clark wouldn't play as many games at arsenal as he had. They wouldn't play for Milan and valencia wouldn't want them. I'd also be certain they wouldn't get in Fulham team. Definitely an improvement

  6. Micky's game on for Aston Villa takeover deal

Micky Arison, the chairman of cruise ship operator Carnival Corporation, is back in the game for his rumoured takeover of Aston Villa FC.

Just weeks after The Lions’ current owner, Randy Lerner, confirmed he has hired Merrill Lynch to advise on the club’s sale, Arison, who already owns the Miami Heat basketball team, has swelled his war-chest for potential sporting acquisitions by selling almost £6m of Carnival shares.

This week’s transactions are the latest in a string of six share disposals since March, taking Arison’s total new disposable income to around £36m – or a healthy advance towards the £200m that he and Larry Ellison, the Oracle software tycoon, are reportedly considering paying for the Premier League team.

Like Aston Villa, which narrowly avoided relegation last season, Arison has everything to play for.

But will Keith “Mr Football” Harris, the investment banking fixer advising Lerner on the club’s new owner, believe the tycoon who was at the helm at the time of his company’s Costa Concordia tragedy is the right man to captain the ship?

this was posted yesterday and was confirmed to be more gossip then fact
  7. Baker and Clark are not better than him. If we sold them they would be championship players at best. There's a reason senderos has been at so many top league teams and played the the best competitions for club and country.

  8. All this takeover talk has clearly deluded a lot of fans. The situation we find ourselves in he's most definitely an improvement. Is he better than Vlaar? No. Is he better than Baker? Yes. Is he better than Okore? Possibly. So why not sign a player with plenty of premier league and international experience.
