Jedi is the scapegoat at the moment. Once again he was fine tonight (not amazing but he never will be) yet he's getting blamed for the first goal.

Neither are good enough to be our first choice CB. But you could blindfold Jedinak and steal his boots and I'd still have him starting in front of this guy at the moment.

Ultimately, we really really need a new CB.

Sorry for me there was no way Jedinak was fine tonight. Balls popped off his head in every direction often back towards his own keeper with not enough power to get half way back. Chester saved him a few times.

Whelan's average over the season is better than BB's average playing at DCM.

BB has had PS% of 75, 78.9 and 80 playing at DM (The last 3 games)

Whelan's average for the season is 81%

FWIW, Jedinak's is skewed by sporadic sub appearances at the start of the season. But for games where he's played 90 minutes he's had 87, 82.9, 81.3, 86.2 and 81.6%

In fact, even discounting games where he hasn't played DM, BB's pass completion % is the lowest of all of our midfielders.

Edit: This sounds like a really detailed dig at BB. Wasn't meant that way. I just find this stuff interesting so when I start looking into it I get carried away :D

No no. It's good to see the facts laid out.

Whelan's is very inconsistent. But as an average it's better.

Is that an average over the season? If so it's very skewed. As Bikir has played on the wing and full back where pass completion is usually much lower than DCM.

  4. He has done really well since coming in. His mobility is the clincher for me . He can afford to play the DMC role 5-10 yards further forward than the other options in his position which inturn let's us get forward faster and doesn't invite the opposition on to our defence as much as Jedinak and Whelan. Also with his back to goal with two men around him he is far better than Jedinak at getting the ball out from under his feet and getting the pass away. Jedinak and Whelan have both been caught in possession far too much.

Edit: thinking about it . It seems to basically be age that is catching out both Whelan and Jedinak. Just both seems a fraction slow to move the ball. Signals not getting from brain to feet as fast anymore. All in my opinion of course.

Gotta be one of our most underrated players. The fact his thread is so far down the list shows he must be doing a good job.

Thought he was bad tonight myself. Himself and Adomah both poor. His deliveries we're terrible and when in the full back position he looked to lump every ball forward as long as he could.

  6. It just didn't happen for him tonight. I know conditions were poor but his first touch was off he needs to stop trying to over complicate things. Hopefully things will go better the next day for him .

I think he's adequate back up for this level. Now I am worried that we are relying on Samba and Terry to be fit for 40 plus games to get us through this season.

40 games between them ? That's not to many to be fair.

Wouldn't say Lego, just probably makes tackles that most players don't. Is it cause he is extremely brave or bad positionally?  Maybe bit both

I would say both yes. Definitely hurts himself trying to recover too often. Maybe a little harsh on him with the Lego comment. I like him he gives his all but I really think his level is around 3rd-4th choice CD for us so if he wants to leave for first team football who are the club to stop him really.

  9. I find it funny people saying Samba and Terry don't have the legs for a full season. Baker certainly hasn't the head for a full season. He is injured every third game. He appears to be made of lego.

  10. Unibet the sponsors. But at least the didn't use the green colour for the sponsor.  It actually looks ok in Claret and Blue. It's not massive either.

It does seem a very British thing to do, to get that wrecked. I wonder how it became so? I've been lucky enough to go out boozing in cities in 40 odd countries and never seen anything remotely similar to what a regular Saturday night on Broad Street produces.

I find it interesting and wonder when it started.

Have you never visited Ireland ?

  12. Just back from  the aviva . You couldn't have anything but illwill for the Welsh after that disgusting tackles from both Taylor and Bale. I hope they get their just deserts from it. A horrible way to play. Not Bales first time at shit like that either.

  13. What the hell was he at for the second goal. It was 3 yards out when the Brentford player applied the finishing touch. He should have been out and claimed that ball all day. As for the pathetic punch when the ball was waist high in the second half??? Dear lord. This guy is worse than Enkleman.
