  1. Great to hear General, I've been trying to get over for next week's Liverpool game but it seems the whole damn travel system is working against me, I can't get anything to work logistically no matter what I try. If there was ever to be any kind of "package deal" on offer from AVFC I'd take it in a heartbeat. It's not so much the cost, but more the serious hassle of trying to join up all the dots with planes, trains and beds etc. Guess I'll be watching Setanta next monday
  2. Hi General, following my gripe about the Blackburn fixture I have just a word of thanks to whoever waived the magic wand because I got a call today from a lady called Nicola in the ticket office and she sorted me out with some complimentary match tickets as a gesture, and a brilliant one at that. So my issue is resolved and we can get on with life supporting the team on the field Zip a dee doo dah, zip a dee day......
  3. General thanks for your response, there is no argument against the footballing side to the decision to change the Blackburn fixture. Perhaps the club might, then, explain why tickets were released for sale in the first place? I really don't think it's asking too much to simply hold off selling tickets until it has been set in stone. I never book flights until I get my match tickets first so in my honest opinion the major mistake that has been made here is that the powers that be allowed fans to purchase tickets on the official club site to a game that, in hindsight, was always in danger of being moved. The lack of foresight by the club on this issue is VERY out of character, I understand you cannot work to "deadlines" as such when so many things need to come together, but the fact AVFC allowed me to buy tickets then changed the fixture definitely highlights a serious anomaly within the ticketing department. General the club dont get much wrong, but you have made a right hash of this and it's very disappointing.
  4. General, due to the rescheduling of the Blackburn game, I will lose money on airfare. I cannot believe the club have changed the fixture after allowing me to purchase tickets on the official site. To say I am disappointed is an understatement and incidents like this are enough to put me off making any future travel plans to VP. Absolutely disgusted.
  5. Hi General, any comment on the rumour posted recently that Sony will be the new shirt sponsor?
  6. So long as the TV networks have multimillion pound contracts on broadcasing rights, AVTV will never show live match streaming. Expect that cage to be rattled as the word of P2P spreads in the coming years.
  7. GABBYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
  8. General sorry for repeating a known issue, but here in Ireland I found the Nike home kit for €55 in a sports store. The very same shirt is €69 + delivery from our own AVFC webshop. I want the club to get all my money, not some random sports chain but seriously how can this make any sense?
  9. General do you think you will you ever get sick of appeasing the fans by visiting these sites and answering the same questions all the time? Do all good things come to an end, or are you here to stay?
  10. Hi General, as we all know when the big boys come to Villa Park we get a load of away fans in home areas. Would the club consider some kind of integrated/neutral area or do you think this would work? I went to see Villa down in Fulham last Christmas and was seated in the Neutral section, some Villa fans some Fulham fans. No big problem really. It just seems like fans of some teams use our areas of VP just because their own clubs use up their allocation, which is destined for trouble somewhere along the way. We also have the Bluenoses to come too... Thanks General and keep up the good work
  11. Where did I say english youngsters? Nationality doesnt come into it, the point I'm making is that they should learn their trade at Villa knowing they will be given the opportunity. Doesnt matter whether they are English or Chinese. Big money signings arent always the full solution.
  12. Let's not totally disregard our youth players, they are the future of the club. I'd like to see Gardner, Osbourne, Davis and Moore proving their worth with us. ManU's best team was full of younglings - "you dont win things with kids" they said, WRONG! Arsenal have also a great rep for breeding talent, that's what I think we should be aiming for. Would save us millions in the transfer market.
  13. No, nobody knows anything about anything. We're all equally as bored
  14. Ok, sifting thru all the crap, Reo-Coker and Bellamy look like likely I'd say.
  15. Confirmed - Sidwell gone to Chelsea. Did I hear a toilet flush? LINK
  16. What manager would say no to Robbie Fowler on a free?
  17. Eh? Who exactly? Defoe and Bent? We have had no real confirmation about either clubs interest in either player. People putting 2+2 together, Bent lives in London + Spurs want him. If you get him great, if we get Defoe super. They are not the only 2 players in the universe, let alone MON's hitlist. The point is, everything here is speculation, including your "95% certain" statements. Our club will announce any news as it comes in, as it did back in January with Carew and Young (who many were "95% certain" was going elsewhere). The entire purpose of this thread is to discuss potential Villa targets from the nuggets of info we get from shitrags and rumour sites. What I dont expect is "oh no you cant have him, he's going to Spurs" - when it flashes on SSN's breaking news bar I'll believe it, otherwise we can discuss whoever the hell we want. We wont sign everyone discussed in these hundreds of pages, but discussing their attributes is part of the process, as is trying to see where they would fit into OUR team. You seem like an intelligent bloke and you've made your case about Bent/Defoe time and time again, it would be a pity if that was the full extent of your contribution. There are plenty of other fish in the sea, we only care about the ones being linked to VP not WHL thank you very much.
  18. Im not suggesting Distin is a world beater, but an experienced defender on a free is good business. We kjow that O Neill likes to be shrewd in the transfer market and you dont always have to pay double figure sums. Shaun Maloney was only £1m
  19. Not so sure about Viduka, stop-gaps aren't really much use to us anymore are they? I mean Sutton did well but now that we've 3 months to go player hunting I'd be surprised if MON went for too many old pros. Although Distin on a free would be a good signing, I think you can always go for experience in defence over a youngling.
