He was great tonight and the commentators noticed how many times he dispossessed the Austrian players.

I’ve said it before on here that in the (roughly) 20 games I’ve watched him play it always seems to take him about 20 mins to grow into the game, which is something he needs to work on, but in time I’m sure he’ll make a great prem player.

P.s. great to get proper coverage for this tournament from the bbc. Normally hard enough to get the score on Twitter!

    For me - absolute quality

He can be fantastic but just couldn’t seem to string more than 2 games together without getting injured. Would definitely keep him one more season.

  4. The thing with Carney is that he’s been finding it so easy in youth football physically and skill wise that it’s going to take time to adjust to playing experienced prem players as he has to adjust his game. He has done okay in the first team (often out of position) but I think the ideal scenario would be for him to sign a new contract and then go out on loan to a championship for a season to get used to playing mens football and then come back ready next year.
Some people are seeming to want to write him off due to the contract situation but I’m sure if he does stay he’ll become a star.

He’s the biggest cert since Grealish to make it from our youth team and he didn’t start playing regularly until he was 21.

As a club we've got to move beyond this mindset of having a first XI and not thinking much beyond it.

Richarlison doesn't necessarily 'replace' anyone, he's a different kind of player to anyone we currently possess. For what it's worth, he's also younger than Watkins, there's still room for him to grow and become an even better, more consistent, performer. He's still untapped to a degree.

I'm biased because I love (to hate) him already, but I honestly think we'd be much better off with more Richarlison's in the squad. He's rabid.

He is one of the most annoying players in the league and winds me up non stop (almost Zaha levels) and we need more of that so yes please. Don’t think he replaces any of the front 3 straight away but is fit to challenge all 3. Let’s sign the absolute 🔔.

It’s all about getting as much money back as possible now on him.

Don’t Think we will get a lot of money back though with his injury record for us. Needs an injury free spell and minutes to make it worth anything.

  7. There is a great player in there but I always thought it would take a season to adapt (as it often does with players from the Bundesliga) and unfortunately he has barely had the chance through injuries.

we didn’t sign an injury prone player he has just been unfortunate on that he has spent as many days injured for us as he had in his entire career previously.
He did look slow when he came back after his last come back but I believe he was just concerned as his last hamstring Injury had come from him running at full pace.

I believe once he comes back from this injury and gets his confidence back we will see a different player, the one we all thought we were signing

  8. Should no way sell him. He is the most, Aston Villa, player we have left in the squad. When he doesn’t play we really struggle and his leadership is immense.

he also seems to have cut out most of the mistakes in recent weeks. He’s also a bit of a nasty bugger and pantomime villain to other teams which is exactly what we need.

No way, Konsa is nowhere near international level. Unfortunately he got injured, otherwise we would've sold him for sure.

No way. He’s a great player but had a below par season. We were all calling for him to get in the England squad last season and Gerrard has said he likes him and wouldn’t  consider selling. Think Carlos is going to start, with Konsas lengthy layoff and then they’ll be direct competition, along with Mings.

  10. Thought we played really well considering we never really left 2nd gear. Buendia and Mcginn were fantastic. A lot of people are complaining that ours chances weren’t clear cut but we know that Burnley defend their box very well and have a lot of players in it so we took our shots from further out and would have won comfortably if it wasn’t for Pope.

I wonder how Caleb's poor loan spell to Kilmarnock has effected him.

I mean brothers do talk and if Caleb has been complaining about being poorly treated at Kilmarnock the wider thought process could be that Villa also made a poor choice.

Maybe Villa can't be trusted for there futures now and Carney himself staying and going on loan himself is out the window.

It's all just theory and spit balling but small mistakes can spiral into huge mistakes and young lads are easily influenced.

He’s actually at Livingston and I think Carney already had aspirations to do a Bellingham, hence Villa signing Caleb hoping it may sway him.

  12. I’ve watched at least 60% of his matches for Preston and he looks fantastic and his positioning for a through ball is always spot on. Finds space between defenders and times it better than anyone else I’ve seen for a while to hardly ever be offside. He’s often positioned for a simple throughball as well yet the quality of that ball from the midfielders is appalling. He also has decent strength, pace and awareness and can shoot just as lethally with both feet.

Can’t help but feel that the likes of Coutinho and Buendia would love him and is worthy of a chance.
