    at the moment it looks like we may struggle to convince a young player at watford who has played in the prem for 6 months and a bloke at chelsea who would rather sit on the bench there than to come to us so i think the chances of convincing beckham to join are quite slim.

    You mean every other team didn't have major signings lined up to be revealed on january the 1st? Sack all the managers. Big transfers are unlikely to happen straight away as clubs want a decent price for their players so they let teams fight it out over the month. If we can bring in the likes of Ashley Young then i'm happy to wait till jan 31st to do it.

    Decent strikers can create chances for themselves and will put away a good number of chances created for them, at the moment we don't have anyone like that. Our creativity isn't great but barry, davis and petrov will create enough for a decent striker to score goals.

    bent can play as a lone striker, can hold the ball up well and win headers which defoe really can't do. I'm a fan of defoe but i have to say bent would be the better player to sign.

    I think those games were different to playing 1 up front and 11 men behind the ball. I'm not saying the performances were great and the football was amazing but we did play with 2 strikers and didn't play for the point from the start which is what we did against chelsea.

    We played with sutton and angel upfront against wigan in the next game we played with angel and baros upfront against man city we played with baros and gabby upfront against pompey we played with baros and sutton upfront against sheff utd we played with baros and sutton upfront against bolton we played with gabby and baros upfront against spurs we played with angel and gabby upfront against charlton.
