We have a billionnaire owner, a respected manager, the club are saying all the right things and in january they showed they mean business. I don't see how anyone can possibly be negative about possible transfers this summer.

I think parker is a good player and i think he would compliment barry well in the middle.

Just because we dont have a set budget does not mean that paying 8m for taylor would be acceptable. Taylor would be a squad player, no more. 8m should get a player that is good enough to go straight into the midfield. Agree with richard that he is a typical MON signing though. Just cant see what he would bring in that I dont think for a second he is better than anything we already have.

you might think taylor is nothing more than a squad player but mon might think he is more than just that. I haven't seen enough of the lad to fully judge but i do trust MON when it comes to bringing players in.

If barry is to play centre mid next season we need a proper left sided player, i don't think berger has a whole season in him and i'm not sure it's maloneys best position so IMO taylor would be an improvement on what we already have.

with taylor in midfield with barry and young we would have a real goal scoring threat from midfield.

i wasn't bothered when we paid £8m for Young because he is still very young

If we spend £8m on Taylor i would be angry as he is not worth anywhere that much and it would be a blatent waste of money.

TBH the price doesn't bother me that much.

I don't think MON has been given a specific budget to work to so i don't think paying £8 million for taylor will stop us from getting other players.

If MON wants Taylor and Randy is prepared to pay what ever it costs to bring him in then that can only be a good thing.

But i think barry will be first choice in centre mid and althought i think petrov did an ok job in the holding role i don't think thats his strength so i think MON will bring in someone of real quality to play that position.

i think gardner looks a superb prospect but i think we need to bring in a real quality defensive midfield player to partner Barry

I'd also like to see a fast skillfull left footed player similar to young to play on the left that way we would have great attacking options down both flanks.

TBH it doesn't leave much room for petrov, but then again i think if we want to have a strong squad next season it's nice to have problems like that.

Throw in a right back, distin on a free, boruc in goal and bent/viduka upfront and i'll be a very happy chappy.

although i rate defoe very highly i still believe gabby or luke could do a similar job and i don't think he is the right sort of striker we need.

IMO i'd like to see viduka brought in on a free.

He can do a similar role to carew and score goals.

i disagree, i think you can't really judge a players goal/games because defoe has come on for the last 10 minutes quite a few times this season and it's hardly fair to expect him to score.

You might not like it, but it's how all players are judged. It's always done on how many goals have been scored in a total amount of appearances.

i know, i just don't think thats a fair analysis
