Great to see! Think the links to Baena are interesting given he and Buendia are similar types of player, so curious to see what the plans for him are. Such a shame to have a whole season written off when he looked like he was really about to hit his stride after pre-season.

This season has demonstrated the quality of the squad isn't deep enough. Having another Buendia type player in the group gives us depth and more options.

Just because we're looking at other players doesn't necessarily mean we'll be offloading other first team members.

It was soft and no way enough to send him to ground but there was definitley something there, completely needless too

There was way more in the Bailey non penalty challenge....... but that was just waved away.

  3. Commentators singing the praises of this olypiacos side ignoring the fact they've profitted from a deflected goal, deflected pass for the first and a soft pen. Whilst we've had a disallowed goal a definite pen turned down....

They've had so much "good fortune" whilst we've had none .

  4. This isn't a good idea simply because British football doesn't fit the American franchise model.

American sports are built around the "show" it's entirely about entertainment. UK football (and rugby and a few other team sports) are built around community first. The club is an arm of the community. This is why there was massive pushback for the euro super league and will be against any meaningful fixtures in the premier league.

They can have the friendlies or showcase matches like the charity shield but anything that matters stays here.

I see him drifting aimlessly across the goal with both arms out as Gallagher scores, like something out of FIFA95.  Isn’t it the case that a GK can reach further by using one arm?

That's harsh. Gallagher put that right in the top corner. It would have taken a wonder save to stop it....

We'll always struggle to control games against the better sides with McGinn in the midfield.

Can't think of a comment I've ever read on here that I disagree with more.

The problem is the astronomic levels of incompetence of the bodies and people implementing it.

You can have the best system in the world, but if its implemented by incompetent idiots, its going to be terrible.

Correct. There just making it up as they go.

With Luiz returning… I think we should pair him with McGinn again who is much more effective in the centre of midfield and probably the next best option to Kamara in the squad… Tielemans back in support of Ollie or LM again with Bailey (if fit, otherwise usual impact from the bench) on the wing or SS if Youri is LM.

Just think it’s the way to get the best out of John who can be so crucial and provide that sorely needed energy, grit and fight… hopefully he puts in a major shift and drives us on for the remainder of the season. Hope Dougie returns with renewed energy and focus and back to the player who was so good during our long home run of victories (and goals)…

Don't disagree per se but also, if everyone is fit, don't see the need to change the team from the Bournemouth match.

  9. Anyone alongside McGinn in the center is strong. He's the key. Reminds me a lot of Petrov, as in he does whatever is asked of him by the manger. Plays wherever he's asked to the best of his ability.

Great player but still underrated for me.

He was played out of position again, covering the right side.

He needs to play through the middle. He plays better there and those alongside him play better too. Teilemans had his best game in a villa shirt alongside McGinn at Arsenal.

    Interesting....

  11. The suspension is totally out of order. The ref had a shocker all night. Both bookings Emi got were incredibly harsh. First was for time wasting when that wasn't what was happening. The second was for antagonising the crowd (not sure if that's even an offence) when he was asking for a ball from the ball boy.

    Shit it
