    Which side is which?

Seems like the side who think everyone is a snowflake are most offended by colours recently.

They are interchangeable... That's the **** irony.

  2. I wish all this bollocks would go in the bin. Of the 2 main camps, people need to stop pretending to be offended and on the other side people need to stop being utter dicks.

    Shit it all!

Too much of a risk to Southgate. Need to make ourselves hard to beat and then try and nick a goal somewhere through a set piece.

Yep. That's the entire tactical plan. It's been the same every England match he's managed be it against San Marino or Brazil

They will struggle to shift a player on 300k a week thats for sure. He isnt going to go to Saudi. Or even abroad i would guess . Too much of a brit. Too close tohis family

On whether we should buy him or loan him back...We play differently now. Its all about the team and threats from everywhere. Not just give the ball to Jack. Besides i dont think he will ever get back to what he was.  He isnt as quick as he was , gets injuries and i think his confidence has taken a huge dent at City. It was his confidence and cockiness which made him great for us. Pep is doing his thing of calling him out which never ends well.

    PSG? Mbappe money?

  5. What's Southgate's record against the good teams in world football. Anyone with rudementry football knowledge managing the players England have should be able to beat the vast majority of teams in world football.

It counts when you're up against the top 10 sides. I'm not sure we've beaten anybody of note with Southgate on charge.

    Edit.... Just found this...

Southgate's record against sides currently ranked in FIFA's top 10 is as follows: 27 games, seven wins, nine draws, 11 losses equating to a win rate of just 26%.

  6. Watching those VAR videos back is astonishing. It's just so amateurish. These are examples of the var team working well apparently which the powers that be have deemed worthy of public release.

There's little fixed process, the language used is not professional, the decision making process is utterly ad-hoc. It's just crazy that this is deemed acceptable in a billion pound industry where these decisions could cost clubs significant amounts of money.

No service, awful crossing from either wing

We're well known for piling multiple crosses into the "big man" aren't we..... If we're advocating a fundamental change in tactics to accommodate Duran we're entering Scot Hogan territory.

Duran is raw, it's understandable, but he doesn't help himself. He sits on the shoulder of the farthest defender with his arm up hoping for the Hollywood pass. He's got to do more than that and contribute to the team generally. It's a minimum requirement for a top level side.

He's got the physical attributes to be a monster. I just hope he's got enough sense to listen and learn from one of the best coaches in world football and put in the graft needed to improve.

  8. There's plenty of room on the current site if we want to redevelop. There's also room on the site of Aston hall if we need more.

We don't need to move away from villa park.

If we were to redevelop on the current site, where would we play our games in the interim?

Thought he was great in the CM-role, at the beginning of the season I thought he and Luiz would be first choice as CM. Thought he and Luiz dominated the midfield the whole second half and the first 15 of the first half, and that against a very physical side. The 30 mins in the first where WH was better was more due to Lenglet and others being sloppy with the passing and the front four not showing up for passes enough.

His passing is the same class as Luiz, it's like having two Luiz in the middle. His forward pass for our goal was top class. He also showed some good defensive skills tracking back, like the WH counter in extra time. Very promising. He looks up to speed now and playing like this he could be ahead of Kamara as CM.

For balance, he also needlessly gave the ball away on a good few occasions which directly led to chances for West Ham. He'll have to do a job in the short term to cover injuries and suspensions but he's far from a regular prem central midfielder.

He's too slow generally. Loses concentration too often and just doesn't seem to work hard enough.... but he'll do for the time being.

He’s a bit clumsy and doesn’t look like a midfielder.

Not sure about clumsy but I agree he's not a midfielder. He should play as a 10.
