Do you not say goodbye when villawife21 leaves you for work?

I do but I don't talk about the memories when she does.

Anwar is still a Villa player and contracted till summer 23

Bailey was brought in as a winger, which fitted into Smith's system, while Ings appeared to have no plan behind it. Now Gerrard has come in Bailey may no longer fit into the system (along with Traore, AEG and Trez). Whether we can adapt Bailey and Traore to number 10s remains to be seen, but I suspect they will be on the transfer list before too long.

Yeah I really worry for Bailey if I'm honest.

    He is no number 10

I'm glad we've moved on from him but nothing but respect for the guy.

Let's not forget how he helped us get to this point.

The likes of El Ghazi, Hourihane and Elmo should have our respect for a long time.

    I wish him well.

    It's only a loan.

He is still under contract until June 2023.

No need to say our goodbyes just yet.

    Because...

    1) Its an option, it hasn't happened yet.

    2) All clubs have an "option to buy", we just have a price already agreed.

    3) Coutinho is here because of Gerrard. After this season, Gerrard has a year and a half left on his contract, coinciding with Klopp. Do you see Coutinho committing to a three or four year contract at Villa if Gerrard is possibly / likely here only 18 months?

Its a wonderful loan signing and I can't wait to see him play. However, the "biggest signing in Villa's history" talk is hyperbole gone crazy.

Ultimately it's up to coutinho where he decides to go.

If he does well and a CL club are in for him he ain't staying at Villa. Let's get realistic.

Under Rafa at Inter .. rubbish

Under Poch at Espanyol ... great

Back to Rafa at Inter ... rubbish

To Rogers at Liverpool ... amazing

    Klopp at Liverpool .. amazing

Shit storm at Barca .. rubbish

    Kovac at Bayern ... good

    Flick at Bayern ... rubbish

Theres a theme there .... supportive managers get the best out of him . And when he gets sidelined and challenged he doesnt like the situation .

He needs to be the centre of attention ..not due to ego. But to give him confidence.

My worry is that he will make his debut and then get injured and have a Bailey type situation .. but if we get him past that then its a huge upside and i am sure we have some incredible moments to look forward to .

Gerrard better rack up the cuddles and kisses then.

    Cuddles. Hugs. Kisses=Success?

I think Barca move didn’t work for him, he did well at Bayern and was impacted by injury last season but I’m not sure anybody knows if the same player from 2017 is still there.  Aside from the injury there is no reason to believe he can’t be the same player just because he didn’t work out at Barca.  Only time will tell but it won’t because of age if he doesn’t succeed.

Players like Mane and Salah though are barely ever injured.

    It plays a massive part.

I can’t agree with this, there are loads both ends of the age of a footballer with the likes of Rooney, Owen and co one end and Vardy, Zlatan, Salah and co the other end.  Probably equal amount both ends of the age range.
