  1. no one's said that the reports of them rejecting us are true, i'm just saying it's not that far fetched that they could have rejected us for Newcastle of West Ham
  2. And considering people are believing some random internet kid's who are pretending to be 'in the know' that we are signing Fred etc then its not too far fetched to have a seed of doubt that a popular website that reports whats in the newspapers could have some truth in it.
  3. someone needs to get their head out of their bottom Why is it so hard to believe they might have rejected us? Parker wants to move back to London, and West Ham are offering out silly wages to anyone who wants them From a neutral view, Newcastle are in the same boat as us, but maybe Barton would enjoy playing infront of 50 thousand every week, rather than infront of 30 thousand one week and 40 another, maybe he would like to supply the assists to Englands best striker? who knows? Its not beyond the realms of possibility that players might want to join West Ham or Newcastle over us, Maybe they would prefer to come here and player under MON no one is saying any different, just that its been reported they have rejected us which puts seeds of doubt in people minds, which is natural, unless you are completely deluded of course.
  4. yes obviously, but it might be asignal of things to come i.e if us and West Ham are trying to sign Luke Young We're in the same market as Newcastle and West Ham, IF its true that they turned us down, then it doesn't fill me with that much confidence for the future when competing for players.
  5. why? he can play left, right and centre Reo Coker comes in, Davis will go, McCann will probably leave Barry has impressed in the middle and on the left actually i can see what you're saying, but still if we're are looking to have plenty of competition for places, someone with so much versatility would be good, where as if we get Koumas he can only really play on the wings due to his lazyness
  6. i agree, but if Koumas comes it basically saying we are not getting Sneijder IMO, which i hold a grain of hope that we are in for him. according to sky sports Valencia want to pay 6.7 million and their manager isn't too keen, Ajax want 10.2 million, if we are in for him i reckon we are waiting to see what Valencia decide on doing.

    The Twang

the front man Phil is a villa fan, he use to sit not far from me in the lower Holte before they got quite big The Twang - Aimless with an Aim my favourite tune at the moment, its probably going to be on their album when it comes out..
  8. it was in football 365's transfer gossip, it might not be true, but it put's seeds of doubt in my mind and when you consider West Ham are being linked with 13 million pound moves and paying out 90k a week to players, it makes it sound a little more believeable but who know's maybe we will be able to pay big wages too
  9. i've just read that Barton and Parker have turned us down, hense us going for Reo - Coker i'm starting to fear the financial muscle of West Ham abit, i'm not sure whether or not we will pay out the sort of wages West Ham and Newcastle are prepared too, to get the better players. It seems West Ham want Barton as well now, if both midfielders go to West Ham, then Newcastle will probably sign Reo Coker who obviously wants to go there. i'm getting a bad feeling that we are going to have to settle for second best with a lot of players i.e Koumas instead of Sneijder. I hope the big wages, opportunity to be living in London or the opportunity to play infront of a guarenteed 52000 every week, doesn't play too much of a factor in where players go. I need a big name signing to settle my nerves
  10. i don't want Kightly admittedly i've only seen him 3 or 4 times, but he just seems to have lots of energy and not that much quality
  11. tbf that write up on Reo Coker looks bang on the money
  12. i disagree i'm being optimistic saying 5 million for him, but we could definatly get 5 million for both him and hughes in a combined deal. He will be one of Sanchez's top targets and in todays market, it won't be hard for O'Neill too push up the price. Sanchez know's what Davis is capoable, and i presume he would see him as an integral part of the team, so i doubt he would fear paying an extra couple of mill to get his man
  13. 5.5 million is around his rightful price would be very pleased if he joined for that, especially if Davis leaves for around the same price
  14. normally i would laugh at us being linked with someone like Fred but the CEO and Storey Moore seem convinced we are going to be signing top class exciting players Fred definatly fits that bill, but isn't he Lyon's golden boy? why would they let him go for 9 million when they don't need to sell, as there chairman has already said they have a massive transfer kitty. I'd rather get Barton if Reo Coker's so keen on joining the geordies, that myspace page might be real if his agent has now come out saying he wants to join Newcastle as well
  15. on his myspace his top 5 friends are Sam Allardyce, Obafemi Martins, Steven Taylor, Michael Owen and Shola Ameobi if its his real site, then i take it theirs only one club he wants to go but i presume/hope it isn't link
  16. i'll be pleased to sign him, but for 8 million i'm not so sure? he should be 4 million max, and considering he is transfer listed and west ham already have a ready made replacement joining in parker, i don't see why he should be costing 8 million pounds
  17. interesting, maybe we do have a chance, If O'Neill was interested i think he would be bidding the asking price by now, as he won't want to miss out, and i'm sure he wouldn't mind spending that amount of money on him, considering what he splashed out on Young. que the 'if he's not good enough for Valencia, why is he good enough for us' comments
  18. link That game has come and gone, and those few days have passed. He probably will sign for them, but that article is old news, as Ajax beat AZ last week. i know, but he says this afterwards "But it's not up to me. I'll be told when it's done." which suggests it's nearly done, he's just waiting for Valencia to finalise it, and they may be waiting until the season ends?
  19. Paul Robinson 'lol' whats the point? if we are going to bring in a new left back, who will further halt O'Hallorans progress then he has to be someone special the 8 million for Reo Coker and 12 million for Bellamy thats being touted about is laughable Reo Coker will be 4 million max and Bellamy will be 8 million max and i'd be pleased if they both joined. Parker to West ham for 8.5 barton to newcastle for 5.5 Reo Coker to us for 3.5 - 4 we would have a pretty good deal out of the 3 IMO
  20. he said himself that he's going to Valencia a few days ago
  21. i'm sure this has probably been mentioned a few times, but i hope we don't bring in another left back O'halloran was very very impressive in both of his appearances for Ireland in the past week. Definatly worth his chance in the Premiership if Bouma gets injured.
  22. in your opinion in my opinion Gordon & Boruc are better than Carson by an absolute mile, Gordon especially Carson's had a good season, but he is no where near their level yet, and i don't believe he will ever reach their level. If we can attract either Gordon or Boruc i would be delighted, fingers crossed bigger clubs don't beat us to them, like with Sneijder going to Valencia
  23. i'm not too optimistic tbh he'll probably go Athletico Madrid does that make me an Athletico Madrid fan now?
