    Hang on a bit...

Two leagues or divisions but only one draft?

I thought the whole point of two leagues  was we could all get a decent team and not have to wait an eternity for your pick.

If we have two leagues and one draft that'll be no better than having a 14 team league.

In fact with two 9 team leagues it'll be worse.

Yes, the divisions work like they do in the NFL rather than being able to set them up for promotion/relegation and separate player pools etc.  So the only option is starting a new league and tracking the promotion and relegation manually.

So.... We still only have access to unique players i.e. a team from each division cannot both draft the same player?

Spreading the wealth was meant to be the purpose of divisions I thought but if it can't be done then yes, reducing roster size is a must.  Single RB, not sure including RB in flex would be good for fairness so I'd encourage only W/T there.

Personally I like the idea that division rankings would lead to playoffs regardless of overall position, just like conferences in the real NFL

That is correct, unless we run two separate leagues then the divisions will just split teams in two, but with all managers drafting and recruiting from one player pool.

  3. I've expanded the league to 18 and set up two divisions, but we might need to reduce the roster sizes if we have more players in.  Maybe drop one of the RB slots and change the W/T flex to W/RB/T?  Then trim the bench down too?

Currently: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, TE, DEF, W/T,  K, BNx5, IR

There are a couple of options for playoffs also:

If your league uses divisions you can choose how teams are seeded for the playoffs using these three options:

    • Division winners advance and are assigned top seeds: The winners of each division will advance to the playoffs as the top seeds and the overall top division winner will be the #1 seed. All other playoff teams will be determined by overall standings regardless of division results.
    • Division winners advance but are seeded according to overall standings: The winners of each division will advance to the playoffs and all other playoff teams will be determined by overall standings. Playoff seeds will be determined by overall standings regardless of division results.
    • All teams seeded according to overall standings: All playoff seeds will be determined by overall standings regardless of division results.

If your league does not use divisions teams will be seeded according to overall standings

    Any preference?

  4. I'll look into getting this set up and necessary changes made this coming week.  Is there even a start date for the  regular season yet?  I'm out of touch tbh!

I think I read KKR is having a tough time at the moment, as am I .  I'd usually have a few teams in free leagues by now to get used to ADP but I can't even be arsed to look.

There is plenty of time and I'm redundant so I can set it up easily if needs be but we should give KKR some peace for now.

I'm ok cheers dude, still on furlough currently! 🙄

  5. Eli Manning, first ballot HOF'er?  He should be!

I'll be posting all the statistical gems and factoids that i can find to support that claim over the coming weeks and months.  I'm sure i have a file somewhere with all the details on how legendary those two playoff runs were.  I'll start with this one though which i hadn't seen before.  Since 2016 add on another 9 wins, which goes to show how bad the Giants have been the past few years!

I've honestly never seen any RB quite like Henry. Uniquely hard to stop with overwhelming size and physique for the position.

Brandon Jacobs, 6'4, 267lbs, 4.56 forty, 2 x Super Bowl champion and ragdolled players just as violently if not more so than Derrick Henry?

FWIW i think Henry is the more complete back and the Titans could very well ride him all the way to a championship.

Does it act like conferences where the top four from each league make the playoffs or is it a promotion / relegation system?

    The former would be cool

I believe it is 2 conferences, but will need to review properly.

Was a good matchup last week, Thomas and Godwin have been that good i though they might carry me deep into the playoffs, but not with very little else going on!

Half time early games, 75% favourite.

Full time, 25%. **** this competition.

Next game KKR has at least half a team on bye, one on IR, and no QBs. I will somehow manage to still lose.

I've manged to go bargain basement shopping to patch together a QB and some RB's, but i will put all my hope in Michael Thomas and Chris Godwin this week as i do every week!

That must have tagged everyone :)

Sorry about the **** up - I don't usually mess with my team on a cellphone but I was away for the weekend

Sorry missed this and the fact that he was available on waivers, busy week!  Looks like it worked out in the end anyway.

  10. A WIN!  Great to see Eli supporting the team and DJ on the sidelines and offering coaching, mentoring and advice, what a consummate professional!

Very excited for the future with #8 under centre now!  A better QB than all from the previous years draft imo.

Daniel Jones reached 19.47 MPH on this 7-yard TD run. Jones is now responsible for two of the FASTEST speeds reached by a QB this season: Lamar Jackson: 19.78 MPH Kyler Murray: 19.72 MPH Daniel Jones: 19.51 MPH Daniel Jones: 19.47 MPH

Meanwhile Eli is still scrambling for the endzone at Wembley! ;)

We have not had a Quarterback since Jeff Hostetler who could make the other team miss a game winning field goal, wide right!

    Wow. Wow. Wow.

Daniel Jones with as good a QB debut as you'll ever see.

No receivers, no running back, no protection, no defense. Insane. What a game from the kid.

Worst pass D in the league, though. Miami have a better one IMO

Finally something to be excited about as a Giants fan!  Although Barkley will likely miss the next 4-8 weeks with a high ankle sprain, the long term future of the Giants looks promising if we can build around both.  4th quarter comeback on your debut, on the road is as good as it gets though.  Buccs are a good defense too, #58 is a beast.  I'm glad Jones is shutting up all the experts in the media who trashed and laughed at him being the #6 selection in the draft.  Leave the analysis to the pros!

Defensively its just a shit show.  Jenkins needs to be cut tomorrow, i know Mike Evans is a beast but Jenkins didnt make a single play all game!  Dline and pass rush were better, but against the more capable offenses i really worry.

  12. Its probably the right move for the long term seeing as the defense is so shit, but i hate that we are having to make it now.  If you put Eli on a talented team i believe he could still be a good player in the league.

If Jones shows nothing over the rest of the season then Shurmur and Gettleman will be gone.  TBH id fire Shurmur now, he isnt cut out to be a HC and his record speaks volumes.
