I guess a simple takeover isn't exciting news so they have to have a shocking headline every day. Go out and find one of the few who has reservations, make them seem like representatives of a large sect of Villa fans and mix in their quotes with quotes from Padfield and then throw in an unfounded statement that his bid is close to being accepted! Fantastic journalism.

HAAAHAAA But seriously, I would say that most Americans, at least in my circle of influence really LOVE the English, but worry that the English don't love us back. It's almost as if we Americans have an inferiority complex. You guys (the English) are basically our parent country. I like the English, keep making Doctor Who and Life on Mars and it'll stay that way! :evil: I actually have a thing for British television and movies, there's some great American tv but it's nice to get a different perspective when we get the same crap over here every year. The only reason I worry about the English not liking us is because of our government but I would hope everyone understands that many of us didn't vote for that guy!

It just makes me wonder, why does the judge need to go make front page headlines? If your bid is so good then shut up and submit it. I just think he's fighting a losing battle at least with the people that make the decisions and wants to swing public opinion to his side. Either that or he just enjoys the media attention and celebrity that would come with the ownership.

Why does this group feel the need to go to the press with every update? You haven't heard Lerner himself or even a spokesperson in the press at all until the statement yesterday. These other groups have been out there thumping their chests in the media, it just seems like an act of desperation. Why not just put the bid in if you're so confident and you can have your day in the press when it's accepted.
