I have been having a look at our remaining games.
Trying to be objective and not letting my heart rule my head, I have come up with the following possible results:
Everton - draw
West Ham - Villa win
Arsenal - Villa loss
Man City - Villa loss
Reading - Villa win
QPR - Villa win
Liverpool - draw
Stoke - Villa loss
Fulham - Villa win
Man Utd - Villa loss
Sunderland - draw
Norwich - Villa loss
Chelsea - Villa loss
Wigan - Villa loss
This would leave us finishing our league campaign on 35 points.
Is that enough?
So far, very impressive. Just wish you'd said that we'll lose against liverpool as you're bound to be wrong sooner or later, and I can see us lose that game. Had you put up a loss for us there I'd be much more confident of us getting a point or 3. Strange, eh? :-P
I would have taken a point today

Cheers Pelle. The way we've been playing recently, I actually think we will now beat Liverpool. If we do, I may reconsider some of my other results.

Impressive stuff MONCABA. Did you bet on these games?
No Mantis. I never bet on the Villa because I always let my heart rule my head.

I'm hoping I can make it 5 on the trot tomorrow. C'mon you Villa boys.
if we have 34 points going into the last 5 games as you have us, you'd have to fancy our chances of nicking a win against either norwich or wigan
I really hope my last 5 predictions are well wide of the mark as well.

Ive decided that while shitbert is still manager I will not go to another match. Is anyone doing the same and just had enough of what he has made this club into.... A JOKE. For people saying oh but the players need our backings. That is bullshit they dont care about us as is modern football and the fans are the ones bankrolling their lifestyles with these ripoff ticket prices and what do they do for us? **** ALL.
LAMBERT OUT LAMBERT OUT LAMBERT OUT
Lets hope no one else takes a leaf out of your book!!

RDM surely isn't the answer! If we are going to make the change then I would prefer someone with more experience.
If he is, I'd hate to think what the question was.
-
Just done the BBC predictor and had us finishing on 35 points.
This might just be enough!!

Hi all,
I am writing a book and need some help with my research.
On the 5th November 1977 Villa beat Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield.
I know Andy Gray scored both our goals. However, what I cant find out is;
what minutes he scored his brace in and who scored the Liverpool goal.
I have found out that it was an OG by one of the villa players but I cant find out who it was.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The issue is not having money its having money that you can afford to waste....not many clubs can do that.....and we have largely done it.
For those clubs that trade at the top Chelsea, Man city, Liverpool ,Man Utd etc .... the odds are lowered against that they will buy a " pig in a poke" sometimes, but rareley, usually the money kinda dictates a bit of quality.
The other clubs lower down the league Trade more prudently and find a few gems, their money is more at risk but spend less of it.
The danger area is us in the middle.... because our 10 mills a pop are usually for players worth half of that and less and that is where the problem lies.
for the best part, our problem over recent years( with the odd exception) we have bought badly...its only the milner, downing, young money coming back in that has avoided a disaster.
I am hoping the we trade for the moment similar to the more prudent clubs and start buliding our reputation back to being confident of the slightly more expensive buys being the value we are expecting.
A great and sensible post

I'm joining you and logging out for the foreseeable, lest I become one of the bickerers (which I probably am)
Boys and girls, I am sorry that OGS didn't come, it would have been a nice swan song.
Richard, if a I knew you and I saw you out, I'd buy you a pint.
Thanks to those who sent me nice PMs
And thanks to the mods, even you Trent!

It's a real shame to see thetrees go. Loved the insider knowledge on Randy's whereabouts.

They are really milking this aren't they. Its been a cracking bit of publiity for Molde off the back of us and has ultimatey shown them in a good light having kept there man regardless of whether we actaully ever wanted him.
-
we've all focused on Faulkners 'Vibrant' - quote - but what about his 'can grow with the club' - an internal appointment - as I speak KMAC odds are shortening - not by much but he has crept up to 4th favorite now - I fancy him to move in even more tommorow
KMAC was mentioned on twitter yesterday as a surprise candidate.
Whats everyones thoughts on this as a possibility?
-
If we get Lambert he will bring in his own coaching staff

Come on guys ALL we can do is go into next Sunday's game, leaving the post mortem till later..... and do our best to give it some welly to try & lift the players!
Personally I blame AM for being a bad man motivator but I also think too many of our players have been hiding behind the flack aimed at him also this season.
-
Can't wait for this thread to be locked!
Me too. Hopefully it will mean we're safe. (fingers and everything else crossed.)

I agree entirely, we must do eveything we can to get him out. Keep the pressure on until he goes.I think the level of personal abuse directed at him against Bolton really got to him.Seems like the way forward is to increase the personal abuse. It sounds harsh but if it works the **** it. Give him loads
He says he is thick skinned, if I was on his salary then I would be.
Obviously our first priority is survival but Mcleish has got to go ASAP.
I actually disagree with this.
He will certainly leave at the end of the season so there is no need to give him personal abuse. He wants to succeed and has worked hard for our club, but he just hasn't been good enough. It is RL who is culpable for appointing him in the first place. No one deserves that abuse for trying and failing.
As much as I want him to go, I believe it is already all over for him and to personally abuse him wil reflect poorly on the integrity of the Villa fans so I won't be joining in with any chanting.
Totaly agree with this post
-
Not sure personally though now if he can survive whatever happens at the end of the season
If he's got any sense, he should walk before he's pushed.
