  1. I've just heard that we're interested in Koumasovic, evidently he's been getting rave reviews in the Croatian second division could be a great buy but we need to move quickly because Everton are sniffing around. (Sky have just said that Koumas is going on holiday and has two weeks to consider accepting Villas offer! ) breaking news quoting Koumas.

  2. Oh, by the way....

WBA 02/03 player of the year, in the Premiership..........

    Jason Koumas.......

Makes you wonder why with all that talent a big club hasn't taken a gamble on him. Is it just down to character and attitude?

    It is.

    His stinks.

Based on what? Falling out with Bryan Robson, who after Steve McClaren, is probably the biggest waste of air in the world of football management.

Just to reiterate, Koumas was their player of the season. Bryan Robson decided he wasn't 'pulling his weight' so farmed him out to Cardiff, where he scored 13 goals in 44 appearances. He then went back, signed a new contract, battled for his place and is now their player of the year again.

Tha doesn't strike me as a particularlt bad attitude.

Didn't he go on strike or something? The ony other player I can think of doing that was Pierre Van Hoiydonk at Forest.

  3. Bouma has spent the last week with Sneijder so that might just give us an edge.

Yup, and that could probably have a bigger impact than most people might think.

Absolutely, I spent an hour or so walking around the new bodymoor heath training facilities and I was gobsmacked, add to that Boumas opinion of Mon and Randy Lerner and his inside knowledge of the clubs immediate aims and you couldn't have a better sales pitch.
  4. So Sneijder has been linked in the Mail, Sun, Guardian and Teamtalk now. Interesting!

They say MON watched him in Ajax's games with AZ also so i presume he was at the game. Id love it if we signed Sneijder.

I hear MON's on holiday at the moment. Does anyone know if it's anywhere in Europe where he might also be spying on potential signings?

But of course, holiday is holiday.

Didn't he finish his holiday last week?
  5. If Martin Jol signs another talented midfielder i would like us to have, only to add to the 300 he has already got...i will walk all the way to his house and kick him in the nuts!!!
If he does sign him then give him one for me to JV, Sneijder would be a dream signing for Villa, the guy can score goals as well as link up a midfield.
  6. ..Davis rumoured to be leaving and being told he is not needed etc.. ok he is young and showed a good season 2 yrs ago and dispite being in and out last season its not suprised many that he is going, yes a few dissapointed faces none the least..

it's down to moore in a way if he is happy to play on the bench still and wait for his 'break again' if that would be the case or wanting more games etc.

Personally if it was down to him and he wants to leave then he would be making one massive mistake!

But if Moore leaves/sold due to the fact he is not needed/part of plans etc, will that put a crack in the way we look at MON?

Ok not calling for him to get sacked if it happened, but i will bet that a large % of us fans won't be happy with him big time imo.

I reckon that Mon will have had a similar conversation with Moore as the one he had with Davis, only it would not have been for public consumption. Moore could be a superb asset if he got himself totally focused in a bid to become our 20 goal a season striker.

He's got all the tools but this season will be make or break for him at Villa.

  7. ... Jol's not daft. He realises, as do the Spurs fans, that Zokora hasn't delivered what he'd wanted - hence they may well nip in for Reo Coker.

    ...

Zokora has had a reasonably good season for Spurs - not great, but OK overall. However, this has been only his first term in the Prem and most (not all) players take some time to adapt. His performances during the 2nd half of the season were certainly better than the first half and most Spurs fans can see his talent and potential and think he'll be much better next season. I imagine Jol thinks the same.

As for Reo--Coker, there are conflicting ITK reports as to whether or not Spurs are interested. If I had to guess I'd say we're not, since I doubt he'd want to come simply as a squad/cover player and there seems no obvious place for him in our starting XI. If this is correct, and if Barton goes to Newcastle, then it seems Villa will have little real competition for NRC. It sounds like a definite runner to me.

    How condescending is that!

  8. Has all these rumours about Fred come from that bloke on the OS who heard it of his nans dog?

    Oh right :?

As the sky blackens over, the four horsemen of the apocalypse will ride over the hill, bringing with them death in every stride and signalling the end of time as we know it.

Is that todays weather forecast Patrick?

  9. sorry, i don't read every page of this thread, i read the last two pages. and to be honest there has been a lot of crap talked so before you roll your eyes at me, take into consideration of the fact that i posted villa related news.

Connell the eye rolling is down to a very good bottle of Chilean red, you're lucky I didn't wink at you.

  10. Aston Villa manager Martin O’Neill is reportedly interesting in pinching Irish full back Steve Finnan from Liverpool.

Finnan is on the verge of agreeing a new contract at Anfield after helping the Reds to last week’s Uefa Champions League final.

However, manager Rafa Benitez has already signed a potential replacement for the 31-year-old defender in the shape of Alvaro Arbeloa - and rumours continue to link the Spaniard with a big-money move for Sevilla’s brilliant Brazilian Daniel Alves.

And that has prompted O’Neill to intervene with an offer to take the former Fulham star to Villa Park.

Thursday’s Irish Sun reports that the Villa chief is willing to splash out €3.8m, or approximately St£2.5m, to land the Irish star this summer.

Martin O'Neill is cooling his interest in signing Liverpool striker Craig Bellamy after learning he would have to pay between £10-12million for his signature.

Bellamy could become surplus to requirements at Anfield after just one season with the Merseysiders and he was only a substitute for the Champions League final.

O'Neill worked successfully with Bellamy during a loan spell at Celtic two years ago but is not prepared to pay significantly over the odds for the Wales international.

He will instead seek better value for money elsewhere unless the Reds drop their price.

We had about ten pages on Finnan this afternoon Connell. I wont even mention Bellamy :!:

  11. tricella, chill.

    We have until August 31st 2007 11.59pm.

After that if you aren't happy, feel free to crucify the board, we'll let you say whatever you want about them (within reason :winkold: )

Chill? Why? Because some people cant handle my thoughts?

I will never crucify the board of Aston Villa FC with Lerner and co! I havent done that...that is not my point at all. I am very happy with Lerner and co...and MON. Please read what I write...it is not that I slam Villa.

We are all in this together tricella, some of us just have different ways of getting our points accross. You make valid points but then perhaps antagonise some posters by inviting confrontation. Ahamaad is right, we should all chill because it's going to be a long hot summer.
