  1. Slowly going off football. Depressing summer. No good news to look forward to. Just been trashed 6-0 away from home by Newcastle **** United. Board keep giving us this PR bullshit that they are waiting for the right man, what they really mean is that they are waiting until September 1st to get someone in. The worst thing is some people on this forum actually believe this PR, corporate bullshit. We'll slowly slip down the table, won't get a manager in that everyone will get behind. Fantastic.

    feel the same mate.

It seems now that this September 1st talk seems true.

So 1/9/10 SSN break with "Bob Bradley is the new Villa manager" ermmm yeah right man? thought about it did the board? we are becoming a joke we really are.

  2. it will be Bob Bradley and it will not be me you'll see @ VP with him in charge. Yes i know support the team and the club not the manager etc but with an American owner, mananger & 2 goal keepers we will be a laughing stock simple!

Jürgen Klinsmann or Jol for me (Jol option seems to be all but gone i think)

  3. reading the browns message boards and history really makes for bad reading at times :(

Gen, does Randy really think he can take the club will move forward still?

Premier League needs investment every year, a different ball game to the NFL. And as i said above a lot of Browns fans are very negative about their team, their board and the results the have been getting on the field for some time now. Our we going the same root? I'm SICK of being a mid-table team or a 'nearly team' I want my club to win things and be a success. CC finals and losing (first final in 10 years) don't cut it for me.

What I am saying Gen is after a very difficult summer (and Jan with no players in) I have been weighing up everything about the club and I am relly starting to lose hope. :(

  4. General,

I think Mr Lerner's tenure at Aston Villa is on a knife edge in terms of it being judged a success or failure. We can't afford any Cleveland Browns style cock ups when it comes to appointing a manager. The Premier League is a far more unforgiving place than the NFL. I think we have seen today that we need a manager not a COACH.

    WELL SAID

  5. Gen

I fully respect the work Randy, yourself and others have done at Villa and no I am not a chairman of a football club. However, the board needs to move quick. IMO we played a poor West Ham team last week and the result showed that. Today we was exposed for what we are. A team with out a clue unless there is great tactical direction. I worry of where the team is at the moment. I sense a struggle of staying in the league (some might say that is far fetched but we lost by 6 against a poor team).

Gen, WE NEED TO INVEST MONEY IN TOP TOP TOP TOP TOP players. A striker is needed asap.

Also the board needs to act on getting in a manger asap. A TOP manager. Not a Bob Bradley, he is not that man imo. JOL or Jürgen Klinsmann seem a shout.

The club needs to react asap. Otherwise we will fall. And then the last 4 years were just a waste.

  6. General Krulak here:

    7. Nike is like any other business...they stock their shelves with what sells. The more exposure the Club gets, the more exposure our kit will get. AT THE SAME TIME, Nike has the responsibility to make sure that our kit is available world-wide and to provide them when asked. It may take some time to get to where we are in every store.

    cheers gen :thumb:

  7. Hi Gen.

Long time reader of your post but never asked you nothing before. However; this is away from the manager role, I was wondering if you can tell us about our deal with Nike. I live in London and just seeing the amount of gear Man Utd, Arsenal or even Celtic have seem to be on a different level to ours. Also we don't seem to be on Nikes website no more or even in London's Nike town store (I did ask a staff member and they don't seem too sure when or if Villa gear will be sold there again, and when i say gear its just the shirts there never training gear).

    Just thought I'd ask :D

  8. VILLA APPROACH JOL FOR JOB

    By Aidan Magee, 14/08/2010

MARTIN JOL has been approached by Aston Villa to take over from Martin O'Neill.

The Ajax boss is seen by owner Randy Lerner as the man to lift the gloom in the dressing room and maintain the club's status as a top six side.

Villa have been told that Jol would be interested in returning to the Premier League if they meet Ajax's multi-million pound compensation demand.

It is believed that he could be in place at Villa by as early as this week if personal terms, which include a salary of around £2million-a-year, can be agreed.

O'Neill walked out of Villa Park in midweek after four years in charge.

USA coach Bob Bradley was seen as a serious candidate, while Sam Allardyce, Alan Curbishley and Gareth Southgate have been linked with the job. Reserve team boss Kevin MacDonald took charge of Saturday's opening day clash with West Ham.

Former Tottenham manager Jol nearly succeeded Roy Hodgson at Fulham last month but was shocked at only being offered a salary of around £1million-a-year.

Jol, 54, twice guided Tottenham to fifth place, their highest finish in the Premier League before being sacked by Daniel Levy after a poor start to the 2007/8 season.

The Dutchman has enjoyed success in Germany with Hamburg, taking them to fifth and a UEFA Cup semi-final.

He also finished runners-up last season with Ajax behind Steve McClaren's FC Twente.

Jol is no stranger to the West Midlands having spent two years with West Brom and then a season with Coventry City as a player during the early 1980s.

  9. lets not get carried away guys. it was one game and yes we was amazing and yes it was an amazing showing for us all to see but it was West Ham it wasn't Arsenal or someone like that. I think there isn't a rush at the mo and im happy for kev to sit in the hot seat until a TOP manager can be brought in.

    UTV :)
