Was Stylian Petrov a good signing for 6.5m? He had an awful start,a great middle and he is now averaging out towards the end...Maybe 1-2 good seasons out of the signing in general but with no return(unless we sell him in Jan but V.Unlikely)...Was he good value on the whole? And is he one of the top earners with 2yrs to run on his contract?

For £6.5 million he was a bargin and id argue one of MONs best signings.

People keep mentioning the 8-1 result to boro, then surely he's only one goal worse than MON? How about Sven's 5-1 win in Munich?

Point is any freak result can skew a manager's rep.

Because Boro were as good as chelsea and put 5 or 6 past teams regulary.

The problem is with these sort of managers is, can they make the step up a couple of levels to push on a top side? Yeah with a bottom tier premierleague team like blues he is good but how would he be managing a truely mid table side, then what about a top 6/8 club?

TBF Glaston did say 'arguably' world-class. Presumably only argued by fans who are clinging to a piss-poor transfer window given the absolute golden opportunity to cement their place among the elite ...

Just signing VdV alone is a major coup for Spurs by any standards. And as an earlier poster said, had Villa signed him VT would be exploding with delight right now.

Are you even aware of VdV's track record as a player? Lampard is rightly considered to be prolific goal-scorer for a midfielder, with a career total of scoring in 29% of appearances: VdV's equivalent percentage is 37%.

Simply put, you can't have the transfer budget and the players that the club have already signed. SI choose to go down the route of including all transfers up to the end of the window.

The same thing crops up every year with gamers fed up because they have a measly £3million to spend.

Andy takes into account what a manager spends in the summer so you dont end up with all villa's new players and a massive transfer budget. If the transfer budget is spent over the summer in real life, you dont get to spend it again in the game Dem!

I'm just pointing out that rating players has to be done over a period of time, this may lead to some players being underrated for a period of time between game release and patches. If every young player who started the season well was given a relatively high CA then there'd be overrated players all over the place.
