While we all want the stinking turd to finally disappear down the drain, in some ways it might be better for them to stay up. It’s not like they’ve got any realistic chance of progression, and years of simply existing to hope they don’t go down whilst losing every week is satisfyingly soul destroying.

If they do go down, it’s possible (but unlikely given the massive mess they’ll be in) that they could be in a promotion race. That means winning games, and happy fans. I think the no hope failure of perpetually circling the drain might just be what they deserve most.

There was a story in the summer that they were thinking of giving the job to Gardner, with the idea that he'd be their verison of Arteta, Lampard, or Solskjær, that is a former favorite going back to manage the club, or that's the spin the birmingham mail were claiming they were going to put on it at the time.

    .

I've met him in Dubai a number of times, harmless enough but he definitely isn't the brightest, when Blose were doing a pre season tour to Hong Kong he genuinely thought HK was one of  the Channel Islands would not have it was part of China

With the team news we have, I'd expect 2 changes. Cash in for Elmo and el ghazi for trez.

Keep the midfield 3 the same, it worked well, particularly first half against wolves. They will be ugly to play against so we need to earn the right to win. That midfield 3 gives us the balance of being able to earn the right to play and being able to play when we can.

We can get at these behind their full backs, I noticed west brom had a lot of joy in the channels. Perfect game for cash to come back and overlap traore and give targett a bit more freedom to get forward too, particularly with a hard working midfield 3.

    Will Traore be fit?

    BCFC Ownership: Understanding the HKSE

Last week I wrote an article to demonstrate the convoluted nature of the ownership of Birmingham City Football Club, and also to show that what happens on the pitch doesn’t necessarily affect the amount of money the owners make off of it. In this follow-up piece I want to explain to people more about the Hong Kong stock listing and how Birmingham Sports Holdings is valued so highly.

Now I have no doubt they are and were both noses. Why they felt the need to pretend to be villa fans I have no idea, other than being thick as pig shit.

I've met Craig Gardener a couple of times in Dubai on holiday going back 6/7 years, and your right he is genuinely thick, when he and Gary were younger they both went to VP and the Sty, Craig though always a Nose but Gary always a Villan, a fact he has told me also

    I don't see the rush.

We're only in mid May still. 10 games can be finished in 3 weeks.

A normal season usually starts 12th of August. We're still a long way from that.

If we are in August and we still can't play football i'd be on board with you, but end it now? Nah.

    Is this bloke for real

At the risk of excommunication, I just don't think this is particularly risible or silly. The Shelby brothers come from Small Heath, and are established through dialogue as noses in the first season. It's a globally-popular TV program, and I doubt they have a more famous fan, real or fictional. Any club would try to do something to exploit that, and I note that we haven't exactly been bashful about sprinkling stardust when it comes to eg Tom Hanks or Prince William.

Pretty  sure they wasn`t remember the Villa being mentioned once, but never the Sty or their supporters, the writer is a nose though

Would "Mings Can Only Get Better" by D:REAM, meet @tismyk 's high standards?

Maybe, but when you are sitting on the Holte End next to the person who wrote the words to HEITS in 1970, and

its still being sung nearly 50 years later, then you can see my standards are very high😀

    Yes I can’t say I’m upset we don’t sing that !! Appalling !

(And I don’t remember singing it that way in the seventies either to be honest )

Things were different in the 70s

My biggest problem with Holte Enders in the sky, other than it being boring, is how the tune has been absolutely bastardised and sounds nothing like the song it's based on.

These are the CORRECT lyrics to HEITS

as wrote in 1971 by Keith Bryenton,
we still sit on the Holte together,

As I walked out at Villa Park one dark and dusty day,
I spied a poor city fan a running far away
I said to this poor city fan it looks like you might die
He said i know `cause I've just seen Holte Enders in the sky

Yippee eye aye, Yippee eye ohh, Holte Enders in the sky,

Now he ran down the terraces and then towards the gate
little did he know death was to be his fate
he had one more short hour to live and then he'd hear the cry
that every city fan does fear, Holte Enders in the sky,

Yippee eye aye, Yippee eye ohh, Holte Enders in the sky,

Their fists where just like granite and their pockets full of lead,
and when they catch a city fan, you know he`ll end up dead
`cause Villa fans rule Birmingham and City fans know why,
the`ve all heard and the`ve all seen Holte Enders in the sky,

Yippee eye aye, Yippee eye ohh, Holte Enders in the sky,

  15. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tony-xia-not-sold-remaining-15181698

Tony Xia has NOT sold his remaining Aston Villa shares - here's what's happened

Tony Xia has written off £49million worth of shares, it can be revealed.

The former majority owner of Aston Villa released the huge amount to help the summer takeover go through smoothly.

Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens were only prepared to invest £30million for a 55 per-cent share of the club.

And for that to happen, Xia had to write off a portion of the shares.

The Chinese businessman has NOT sold his remaining stake, though, and still retains a 45 per-cent control of the club.

The recent filings on Companies House were related to the paperwork from the summer takeover. It was simply a realigning of the shares.

Confusion followed in some quarters after the file arrived hot on the heels of a broken-hearted emoji-filled tweet from Xia which read: “No matter what happened, you cannot disappear from my world.”

But it related back to the summer rather than a recent change.

While the RECON chairman still retains his minority stake, he no longer has a deciding say on the day-to-day running of the club.

Xia no longer visits games and has been cast aside from making key decisions as Sawiris and Edens take the lead role.

It’s also understood that Xia could see his stake in the club reduced further if he fails to match the equity injections of NSWE.

To make matters worse for blose Bolton are not entering adminstration either. If they go in they are down and monk will walk surely.

What I don't get is why they don't sell jota. He is on big wages there surely selling their better players woukd help them with their financial problems?

They tried along with Stockdale, they did not want to leave small heath due to the wages Arry put them on a bit like what happed with Zigic, and of course we've had a few like that
