  1. It shouldn't feel this good to beat palace at home, but I take it. Were at the pub with a few other swedish Villans and we'd all but given up long before the 87th minute. We didn't create many chances and those we did create just wouldn't go in. To be one goal down in the 87th minute and then win by 3-1 is quite amazing no matter what team you play.

Was it a penalty? I think it was but I thought he'd turn it over and wouldn't have moaned that much. It wasn't clear cut, IMO. But still a penalty.

Wasn't it said before this season that there should be daylight between the attacker and the defender to be offside? There certainly was no daylight between Diaby and their defenders.

Anyway, not a great game but a great way to win. But I still wonder where we stand. How good are we? It will be an interesting game on Sunday. But Legia Warszawa first.

Your both forgetting our most important international player, super John Mc Ginn.

True, but I was more thinking of the countries they represent. With all due respect Scotland as s football nation isn't really at the same level as those I mentioned. And Belgium. How could I forget Belgium?

Thanks for the correction on Kamara. I missed that he got a place in their squad. Very happy for him.

None of these players are actually rubbish, if they were rubbish they wouldn't be in a position to score against us, this thread is basically like the 'players you think are rubbish thread, but also that have happend to score a goal against us. Closest you will get to to an actual 'rubbish player' scoring against us is if we've played a non-league team in a friendly or a Cup game and maybe one of their weaker players somehow managed to get a goal, or if we've played a team and they've put in a youngster that's got a goal, and that youngster then faded into obscurity because of not being very good.

Well, of course you're right about that. Actually that's what I think and sometimes say when people call PL players poor. Or championship players for that matter. They're not poor or rubbish. Quite the contrary, actually. They're among the best in the world. But how fun is that?

  4. So international players from Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France and Spain. Ok, Douglas Luiz, Diaby and Kamara wasn't called up this time but they have and will be again. I never thought I'd see that at Villa. Now we only need JJ to get a call and then a german to have the full set.

Federico Macheda. Was a peach as well.

I will probably never forget that goal. At that time there was a swedish journalist placed in England originally to follow Sven- Göran Eriksson when he was manager of England. The thing with this journalist was that he was well known for not having a very good football knowledge. Except for himself. He was a good example of the Dunning Kruger effect of football. "Some say I don't know football but I've watched 1000's of games so I do know football." Not an exact quote, but he wrote something like that once. One funny thing was that every time Eriksson was in a form of scandal he said that that's it, now he's getting sacked. Every time except for one, the time Eriksson actually was sacked. That time he wrote that "Oh, Eriksson will survive this too." Well, anyway, after that game he wrote about Macheda "I've seen the future, I've seen the next big star. What a player! You will hear more about him." When I read that I just knew that we'd never hear about him again. And apart from another goal against us we never did.

That was a long text about nothing. As a side note the one Aftonbladet has located in England today is a woman and she definetely knows football. She's great listening too.

And to follow the thread: Andy Newhouse

Believe me, it's not a dig at Emery, is this how it's going to be from now on? I was vocal about sacking Gerrard, been heaping praise on Emery since day one but now because I don't think Olsen is good enough then I have to pipe down because I'm insulting someone I think is the best thing to happen to us since I can remember?

    Jog on.

But it is. You say he's not good enough, Emery says he is. It doesn't mean you're against Emery. And don't tell me to jog on. I didn't say you insulted him, I didn't say you were against him.

Haha, a slight on Emery?! The fact Olsen was poor playing for Roma? Is that Emery's fault? No. Did Emery sign Olsen? No. Was it Emery that made him perform badly in Sheffield? No.

What are you talking about? I'm sure Emery will try and get the best out of him if he plays in a Villa shirt. Emery is a **** genius. Olsen is also not a great goalkeeper and we should have a better backup.

But it is a dig on Emery. You didn't mention his time in Roma but said he wasn't good enough to be our backup keeper. Clearly Emery finds him good enough, but you say he's wrong.

  8. He's really come on well here. I have no doubts he will be important to us. The biggest problem now is who you pick as your first choice midfield out of him, Douglas Luiz, Kamara, SJM and Ramsey? I think we'll start with 3 of them in most games, but which 3?

  9. About that possible release clause. Didn't Purslow say something about never allow such a thing in a contract again after Grealish left for citeh? I highly doubt there is a release clause. If there was it would have been triggered by now.

Anyway, what a player we have here. He oozes class. The only thing that worries me a little is his tempre.

  10. I thought it was quite obvious in the games against newcastle and fulham last week. Olsen is here to stay and UE trusts him and is working with his weaknesses, his feet. I was a bit disappointed when Emery said that he was contempt with both his keepers as I was about to put some bets with other Villans that don't think he's good enough for being a decent backup.

And to those who says he's not a good shot stopper: Yes, yes he is. Take a look at Sweden's international games. Preferrably start with the game against Spain in the EC two years ago, and the game against Austria two months ago. The difference? He has a whole other confidence playing for Sweden than in Villa. Get behind the boy, build up his confidence, and we have a backup that can save us points. Unfortunately his weakness says he won't win us points by setting us up, but he will make great saves. He definetely won Sweden a point away to Spain.

I got lost 7 years ago trying to get to that meeting. Still haven't found what I'm looking for.

  12. Read a rumour that there is a release clause of £16m and spuds were about to meet it. And, to make it even more ridiculous, arsenal putting in a bigger bid. And some actually believe it.

I read somewhere that it is not beeing released on ps4. I preordered it a few days back, and that store did not have a ps4 option. So i think you have to invest in a ps5. No shortage of them here in Norway anymore,so if it is like that in UK,you at least dont have to buy an overprized one :)

I can't afford a PS5 right now. My economy got really f**ked up this year. A long story. But I hope I can buy it online later this summer.
