Why are we all more nervous now than before the Norwich game is it mentally thinking about the Chelsea game and the fact that Wigan have their game in hand this week. It's very possible that we could beat chelsea. They whole rot began at Chelsea it seems like a premier league story for it to stop against them to. I'm as nervous as anyone else but conspiracies about west brom and Swansea throwing games are very far fetched to me. Man city can still drop from second and Swansea ave them a good game saturday
I agree. Most of the baggies side wouldn't be anywhere near understanding the rivalry between us so I cant see the manager having a pre-match talk advising them to lose the game. they would all be scratching their heads!

I'll put my neck on the line here and say there won't be any! I understand saying the owner might change his mind is providing a get-out clause so I'll say right here and now come the end of the window the supporters will be very very disappointed and rightly so.

Seems to me that RL is taking a huge gamble in that he is hoping that we will avoid relegation then have a mass clear out under PL in the summer and bring in a few more gems like Benteke, Vlaar, Westwood, etc. on lower wages than the deadwood we are carrying at the mo. Hope it works out that way...

PL probably thought Bannan & Delph were better than they are too. He may have wrongly assumed Ireland would make more of an effort as well!

He is a fantastic signing for them (would have been for Villa as well). He is very similar to Fellaini. Only difference is that Fer is two footed and Fellaini is stronger in the air than Fer.
Villa should try to get this guy from Anderlecht. Started as a holding midfielder but is playing regurlarly now at central defence. He is a beast of a player.

Quite depressing that we are having to look back on how the summer transfer budget was spent as we seemingly have no January budget to discuss in the 'January 2013 Transfer Talk'.

The thing is, in that game Liverpool had 61% Possession, 17 shots on target, 9 shots off target and 7 corners so how did a villa defence without Vlaar in it, only concede 1 goal then go on such a terrible run conceding goals like we dont exist?
I know our players are mostly poor but they have proven they can do it so there is no excuse for being this bad on a consistent basis.
I have no idea what my point is now because i'm pretty sure i'm going to end up contradicting myself. Dont know what to think, losing the plot, fml...

I 100% agree that we need 3 or 4 quality players but this was our team that beat liverpool just over a month ago:
Guzan, Lowton, Baker, Clark [c], Lichaj, Holman, Westwood, Bannan, Herd, Weimann, Benteke. Subs: Given, Bowery, El Ahmadi, N'Zogbia, Bennett, Delph, Albrighton.
So why cant we beat the likes of Bradford over two legs with what we've got?

Maybe. At least it shows one thing: He was consistent up until then and that was dated 15 months ago. He has obviously continued to impress since then so potentially a good, solid, consistent player.

First part - no, he's not the captain and is different to Petrov in that respect, fair point.
Second part - total and utter rubbish. This 'hollywood pass' thing is complete and utter bullshit, as is saying that he doesn't contribute.
I disagree. I'm sure he thinks he's David Beckham. He is always trying to make that perfect cross to make a name for himself instead of keeping it simple. 9 out of 10 corners are shit too!

I agree. I would like to see us go find a scandinavian brick sh*t house who looks like Nikolai Valuev, and works like Vlaar.
