Whilst I am enjoying all the speciation, those talking of a fantastic summer are running a bit soon for my liking. We've actually only signed one player so far.
I'm not complaining, it is still June. I'm just saying... One player.
will be 3 by Tuesdays press conference.

Agreed. I would like to see the deadwood leaving now though, its not happening quick enough for my liking. Every week we are throwing money away on their wages.

I get the feeling CNZ doesnt figure in his plans.

Am loving the way PL is searching out young, hungry players with bags of potential that are relatively unknown. Until they get 'found out' other managers are gonna have their work cut out preparing for games against us.

Once these two danes are signed up I very much hope belhanda will be added to the squad and a left back as competition for Bennett and we as good to go, actually probably need a rb too. But delighted with the progress made so far.
and a goalie

Newcastle United aren't interested in shelling out a huge fee for Darren Bent.
It is understood that while Alan Pardew is good friends with Bent, the £6million tag for the Aston Villa man is too high.
The Birmingham club paid £18million for Bent from Sunderland two years ago, however, the move hasn't worked out for the Londoner.
The former England international has been offered to a host of clubs, including United, but with Bent wanting £70,000 per week the demands are way above the budget at Newcastle.
At 29 Bent does not fit into United's blueprint as they are still looking to add younger blood to their ranks.
Bent made 23 appearances last term scoring six goals but has been told he can leave Villa.
Reports from the capital claimed that there was interest yet history shows that Mike Ashley wants to avoid the days of high earners seeing out their career on Tyneside - something that was written in the club's blueprint in 2010.

Bent going to Newcastle would be really good .. I think they're changing and trying to get some English players .. Which would let them little bit out of the foreign market .. And that could make it easier for us out there .. Especially in France ..
+ We have a space in the wage bell .. And the fee we get !
Anyway I think this is a hard one tbh ..
I think Newcastle's plight should serve to teach others, including ourselves.
That side should have been nowhere near the relegation zone, regardless of their injuries.
If we sign the players who have been linked, then I think we should start to look a bit closer to home for any further additions.
Its my guess that is the plan anyway.

Jores Okore and Nicklas Helenius might not be the on Denmark internationals on their way to Villa Park.... #avfc
Kasper the friendly goalie?
-
Doesn't he seriously dislike Newcastle and their fans for abusing his Mother?
lol, what, all of them?
-
The fee is around £2.3-2.5m
After they rejected £3m last week? we should do business with them more often

http://www.clubcall.com/aston-villa/defender-set-for-villa-medical-1598959.html
Aston Villa have agreed a £4million fee with Danish club Nordsjaelland for defender Jores Okore who is travelling over for a medical. Villa have swooped for the 20-year-old centre-back, who appears to have been recommended to the club by former skipper Martin Laursen. The Ivorian-born defender has a handful of caps for Denmark and came off the bench at half-time in their World Cup qualifying defeat to Armenia last night. Danish coach Morten Olsen replaced injured centre back Andreas Bjelland after 45 minutes with his side trailing 2-0, but Okore was unable to stem the flow of goals and they crashed to a 4-0 loss which puts them out of contention for Brazil 2014. Reports in Copenhagen claim Okore was at fault for the third goal.

I joined in the january transfer window. Feeling really insecure all of a sudden lol
The Rory Delay comments are referring to an old thread in the Other Football section. Months after people had discussed Rory Delay's long throws, a poster said "Have you seen Rory Delay's throws? They're really long!" and included a link to a Youtube clip.
It's in the Hall of Fame somewhere.
Thats class and im glad to be a part of it!

Okay, after extensive research I have found a new source*

Sorry Marley. Just a gentle ribbing. Most of the links you have been posting are about a day old and discussed at length earlier in the thread.
Fair play.
Apologies, i really should go back further when i log on.

lol, i take it i've missed something here!

Delap is a free agent, he got released as his contract expired.

On the papertalk section of the ssn site, The Sun are saying Villa have made a £4M bid for Okore. Could well be an educated guess on their part seeing as we had a £3M bid rejected last week but at least it sounds realistic.

I'm getting a bit worried.
If we sign all our players now what am I going to do with the rest of the summer?
Speculate about more coming in until PL says there will be no more!
Although we will all assume hes changed his mind at some point and will be still reading this thread up until the window closes at midnight on September 2nd.

Its my guess that the reason we havent had an official unvieling of Tonev yet is due to the kit launch. I would think PL is hoping to introduce us to him, Helenius and possibly some others in one press conference where they can wear the new shirt.
