If you're travelling on a Sunday there's no restrictions with off-peak travel so you might as well get an off-peak travel card, its cheaper than the super off-peak travel card.
I got a Groupsave 4 deal, 4 adults for £16 each. Can get on any train time, and get the link to Wembley Stadium from Marylebone too.
I believe the trains have all been re-routed so they stop at Wembley on that day. Which is gooooooooood.

It's a bit like one of those "Would you rather drown or burn to death" questions.
-
Really fancy going to this black danny thing.
Think I may have missed it in the thread somewhere but how far from Wembley is Silverspoons?
If you fell out of Silver Spoons, you'd hit your head on Wembley Stadium.
-
Think we are getting tickets for this too... shold be a good craig!..Got 8 tickets for me and mates for this , travelling down on Premier Entertainment coach, run by Stevie Gough, nice to see 2 old mates doing well
What's the general consensus, is this gonna be a magnet for nutters? I wanna go but the Mrs is like "it'll be all hooligans!! We'll get stabbed!!" (bless her).

It does look tempting.

General Krulak here:
1. Gizmo: Please understand that most of those ATM's are sponsored by banks...the photo of the UBS machine is an example. The machines are not free...they are free to user but not to the bank or institution. If they are only used once a week, the revenue will not meet the expense.
Fairy Nuff. I have just illustrated that I know nothing about cash machines
-
1. Cash point: We are, in fact, trying to entice a bank to bring cash points to Villa Park. We need to understand that in this tough economic environment, getting a bank to install a machine at a location that sees the vast majority of the business on one day a week is a bit tough.
Can't you just stick some of those 'convenience ATMs' inside the ground? I don't suppose I'd ever use it but it's worth considering for others I suppose. Like these things here...

I can't see him being sacked (famous last words) but it could be any one of the others.

After all ST-holders etc. get tickets, we will still have over 3500 more available. My sense is that we will have enough.
I suspect you may be surprised, General. IF we do get to Wembley, there'll be a hundred thousand people looking for tickets - claiming that they haven't missed a Villa game in years!

Signing Marlon Harewood
The man who bagged a fair few important goals in his first season. No complaints from me on that one.

Personally I don't think any of that list were major mistakes. The UEFA cup thing maybe with the benefit of hindsight but to be honest at the time I'd have done the same.
-
When was the last time a club beat the "Top 4" in one season? Obviously we haven't done that yet but it's still possible.
It must have been ages ago?

Hiya General
In 1994 Villa won the Coca-Cola Cup (as I'm sure you're aware). On the way to the final they beat Tranmere Rovers in the semi final. The second leg of that semi final was most certainly the best game of football I have ever seen (although admittedly I'm biased) and I would be more than happy to pay money to watch it again. I'm sure I'm not the only person that would so what are the chances of getting the game released on DVD in the club shop? If it's not possible to release the entire match, at the time there was a video released showing highlights of all the games leading up to the final and then the whole final afterwards - maybe the club could look into re-releasing that video as a DVD?

Maloney only stays off the list coz he was cheap.

Jol finished 5th 2 years in a row with a lesser budget than Villa have spent.
Houllier won a lot of trophies with Liverpool which people forget and is also one of the most respected managers in Europe.
McLaren has been labelled the only manager in Holland to bring the Dutch spirit and flair back to Dutch football by none other than Cruyff.
Im sure if Pulis was given money to spend on good players he would try to play football
It really doesn't matter who manages the team, sooner or later a whole bunch of people will call him a word removed and proudly declare that anybody can do the job better than he can. I guess it's the same at every club in the world - almost part of the fun of the game.
I still think that while the current manager continues to get better results every single year, there's virtually no grounds for removing him.
-
Every single year since he arrived we've got better. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. More points. Better football. Better players. Absolutely everything on and off the field has been consistently improving since the day Martin O'Neill and Randy Lerner arrived.
Aston Villa is probably (off the top of my head) the only club in the Premiership that can say that. In my opinion, anybody who thinks that's not good enough probably has too high expectations.
I don't agree with much of that. The football now is atrocious, and was actually far better at the end of 07/08. Sidwell is now a fixture in midfield, and he isn't a patch on Gareth Barry. Emile Heskey. Emile flaming Heskey.
Well I don't think the football is atrocious and Sidwell is backup for the currently injured Downing. Heskey and Sidwell would have walked into the Villa team when MON first arrived - now they're on the bench.
In my opnion the squad is better this season than last season. Last season's was better than the one before and so on...

At some point in the future the improvements on and off the field will peak and we'll no longer get any better. If by that point we have not won the Champions League THEN and only then will the question "can MON (and Randy) take us any further?" become a valid one.
It may just be my opinion but it seems so obvious to me that I can't believe it has to be said.

Guilty as charged.

Why don't we install carpets and a leather sofa in there - instantly elevating Villa Park to the bestest ground in the world!?
-
I'm really quite surprised that anyone gives a shit to be honest. If Barcelona decided to remove the seats and make the players stand they'd still be a big club.
A seat is a seat. If the seats are uncomfortable they should get up and jog around a bit instead.

No. Absolutely not.
It is logically impossible. Time is linear, and the past has ceased to exist and the future doesn't exist yet. Past and future only exist in the absract of the human mind, and it is impossible to travel to a place that does not physically exist.
So was tv, the internet, or even electricity a few hundred years ago.
But the components that were assembled to create said things did exist. There has always been potential tv, internet and electricity. Luckily, we have gained the knowledge to invent these things. I'm sure there is potential do invent and do many things we haven't even thought of yet. There is no such potential for time travel.
It's a fairly safe bet that when man was running away from sabre tooth tigers he didn't foresee the potential to invent the internet - even though the components for it existed. The thing that might make time travel possible probably exists now, we just haven't discovered how to do it - tis no different.
Having said that, I highly doubt we'll ever invent time travel but let's face it, whaddo we know!

On a related note, if your mom's dog spills a millilitre of Pepsi Max into your keyboard it will simultaneously destroy your motherboard, keyboard, CPU and power supply.
And your mom won't even offer to pay for the sodding thing. (Thanks mom's dog!)

If you pour a full cup of coffee into a Sky Remote, it stops working. "Well that's hardly a revelation!" I hear you cry...
However, if you place said Sky Remote on a full cycle in the washing machine and allow it to dry for 12 hours, it works perfectly again.

Yep we should all wear a "I'm a Villa Talker" badge...
...or something.
