Do you think we are paying less wages than certain Championship clubs?
-
I've had the job done and its driving well now. One thing I've noticed is the steering seems to have stiffened up. Any idea what could have caused this when changed clutch/flywheel?If you know/have been recommended/trust the garage in question, then there should be no problem really.
Possible air bubbles in the power steering fluid.
The garage said there is nothing they can do because they can't see a problem. The pickup on my car seems a lot slower since I had the job done to. It's almost like they've given me a different car back

Samaras on a free, anyone think he could do a job for us?
I actually think he could be ok.
-
Must say I respect Lambert a bit more than I did. Any other manager would have told lerner where he can shove his 10m budget.
10M?
-
I've had a shocking World Cup due to lack of discipline and Brazil didn't help my cause today. Columbia to win did though. Tough WC IMO.
-
Can't believe people are still backing this clown. Worst football I've seen and I've watched us since Tommy Docherty
It's probably because we know how shit the squad is and realise beggers can't be choosers. I'm not defending Lambert but I honestly thing Fergie would have struggled with this shit. The main shining light is Bentake and who bought him? That one signing makes him ok for me because without it we would be down.
-
Regardless of the leagues he managed in, consecutive promotions up to the PL after losing the opening game 7-1 is no fluke.
He's not the best manager we've ever had but he's not the worst either. Very average job which has kept us in the league in times of footballing hardship.
Things could be much, much worse.
Toss up between Lambert and McNeill for the worst I can remember.
And clearly what you can remember is our entire history?
No, clearly what I can remember is what I can remember. Which incidentally, is a lot longer than you.
Ah so now the better fan jibes are out.
Awesome.
I would have taken that as him saying he is older than you.
To keep it on topic id say Lamberts time at Villa has probably been the worst as my time as a fan but I don't think he is entirely to blame.
-
When you have to start thinking how things could always be worse it's normally because you accept it's unlikely to get better.

I mean in general. Do we have a chance of signing players rival teams are interested in?
Have we actually been in competition with anyone? It's all just rumoursDoes anything think we can beat another premier league team to a signing at the moment? Maybe Burnley?

I've done the same but thrown Costa Rica in as well as it bumped it to 11's.£40 on all favourites to qualify. Ignored Greece game.
6/1. Who's gonna let me down?
I was tempted but I've been burnt by Greece to many times. I.e. Euro 2004

What was it our old chief scout said a few years back, if you're finding new players at a World Cup you're doing it wrong, he was at the French U19 invitational tournament that summer instead (Toulon?)
FWIW I agree with the sentiment, I'd hope we already knew who the likes of origi were before they'd kicked a ball in Brazil
Well Salifou shows what he knows!
-
French International Gomis signs with Swansea of a free. Would have been a good pick-up for us.
We're going to hear this a lot this summer. Temping a player to join us over most other premier league teams is going to be very difficult IMO. Our best bet is players no other teams in this country are interested in, i.e. Cole and Senderos.

I personally think if a person can cheat once they can cheat again.
-
Ok but you get the point.
I do however sometimes a manager can only take so much. Lets not forget Little and Gregory also walked out on Villa, regardless of pay.
True buts the way the original poster said there is only so much one man can take. As if it was the worst job in the world.

Here's the latest. My girlfriend's (I'm allowed to mention her in here, right?) supervisor at her work sounds like the most whipped guy I've ever heard of.
His wife doesn't work. yet she has total control over all of their finances. He gets pocket money every week that he's allowed to spend on whatever he likes. That was £10. It's now been cut to £5 because she wants to save for a new house.
To reiterate, she doesn't work. He brings in, at a guess, at least £40k a year. And he gets £5 a week to spend for himself.
He has to lie to his wife about my gf. he's told his wife that it's a bloke who works for him, not a girl, because she'd get angry.
They have a kid. She got pregnant when she deliberately came off the pill without consulting him.
He has secret takeaways. his wife doesn't let him eat them, so he goes out, buys one, and then eats it in the shed so that she can't smell it when she gets home.
He's not allowed to the pub. Every week he goes for the paper on a sunday and dashes to the pub and downs a pint because it's the only chance he gets.
They had a work meal the other week. He got a lift home from one of the women and she had to drop him down the road so that he could walk home and pretend he got a cab.
And finally, my gf passed him and his wife in her car the other day. Gave a beep and a wave.
He gave her a bollocking on the Monday at work for nearly getting him in trouble. Because somebody he worked with waved at him.
I hate him. I've never met him. But I hate him.
His pocket money has been cut to nothing as she wants another baby. He has no spending money.
She went and got her nails done last week though and went for a spray tan because she's going on holiday next week with her mates. He's staying home to look after the kid.
They had a work night out on Friday. The company paid for the meal and drinks during the meal. But he couldn't afford to bring any money with him so was scared to order a beer during the meal in case they'd made a mistake and they ended up having to pay for the drinks themselves.
They were going for more drinks after, that they'd have to pay for themselves, so he couldn't go. The boss offered to buy him a beer if he went with them, but he snuck off when nobody was watching to get the bus back.
I hate him too.

Is he being torturerd? 2M a year suggests he can take and will take a lot more.Lerner will not sack Lambert but he will walk
There is only so much any human being can take
How many times he is not on 2M a year.

Not particularly, providing we get the right deal for the club.....your holiness
So you're not to fussed if he leaves then your highness?
This may come as a surprise to you, but I have seen the team I support since 3rd division days. They were truly less than average then, ate. Since then, I have seen us win the league and the European Cup - we were distinctly a lot better than average then. If you think that because I think a player who currently plays in this less than average team is only average, I'd suggest you carry on living in Panini world. I've invested a lot more in this club to listen that cobblers......Trying to say that one of the players (captain as well) that play for the team you support isn't average, is nonsense?
Right then. Back to off topic I go.
Will at least one fan will not be downbeat about his departure....your majesty.

Interested to know people's opinions regarding if Suarez was a villa player, would we still want him at the club after this?
Hell yeah!
-
Like it or not, he's our player now so we should be wanting him to do well not mess up.
We do. Which is why we prefer he doesn't play.

Origi is like shopping at Waitross. We can't even afford Aldi at the moment.
What do you drive?

But they said they didn't touch the steering and I guess they will probably say they same regarding pickup. I had clutch and fly wheel replaced. Should all those checks have been done after this job?
They said to look in to steering further it would cost me. I feel a bit helpless.
