  1. A rollercoaster of emotions. I'd rather post something on here like a star-crossed lover than have some plastic say 'cry more' over on Twitter.

Ain't going to lie. The thought of Jack leaving is heartbreaking. We lived our dreams through Jack. He was more than a player. I've chatted with his Dad at friendlies years ago. He spoke of how he was at Rotterdam, he's a true Villa fan. I genuinely thought Jack was one of our own. All the losses of Benteke, Delph, Milner, Young, Barry, Yorke, Jack Grealish was the one that'd choose loyalty.

This is a great time to be a Villa fan. We're growing year by year and with boyhood Villa fans as captain and manager... it's the stuff of dreams. Milwaukee Bucks blueprint and all. Why would any true Villa fan leave now? If Jack wouldn't have got injured, I predict we'd of had Europe this year. We're on the cusp.

If this goes through, an enormous chunk of my love of football dies. I've traveled everywhere with Villa. Watched us through thick and thin and I'll always love this club. That said, the romance of football dies with this transfer. Combined with corrupt refereeing decisions, ESL, and media, this is the final straw. Man City is a club that goes to the lengths of starting their own league to keep out of power. Let's not forget banned from UCL and they have the power to do this AGAIN. Football is gone, but my love of Villa remains.

Of course, it's not confirmed, and with that, there's some hope. But either way, the way his agent and media have acted throughout is a disgrace. Treated Villa fans with disdain and that's unforgivable. As I say, football no, Villa yes. Whatever the outcome, let's get Villa Park rocking for this season and show the world how a big club bounce back.

  2. It’s not an ideal situation, and I wish all the squad well. Let’s hope there aren’t any long-term implications.
But I’m excited to see the U23s and let’s hope there are positives to take away from tonight should it go ahead. What an opportunity for them. I was lucky enough to see the U23s a few times before the pandemic hit. Mungo Bridge caught my eye and can understand the interest from Milan. Every bit the modern CB. Bridge to keep Salah in his back pocket. Villa win with Barry announcing himself on the scene. 😂 Stranger things have happened! You can say that with a lot of honesty these days.
Delaneys claret blue army”. Come on Villa!

  3. I just released this music video. Really should of had a Super Jack montage but would of struggled with the rights. 😀  Thought I'd drop it here as there is always good taste doing the rounds in this thread. Just hope it fits into the good taste category. Up the Villa.

Good luck with that - sounds good

(I thought the cover was a picture of Nick Helm!)

Cheers buddy and thanks for listening.

I had to Google Nick Helm and after discovering it is the bloke out of 'Uncle' I can confirm it isn't the first time time I've heard that! 🤣

  5. He is walking us into Championship mediocrity and we are supposed to back him because if we don't we are hysterical. The reality is....It is a last pay day for him. The Wyness backing has given him a free role for a while to sit back and enjoy the ride. We are better than this. We really are. Don't throw money at managers and players who are after their big move. Build this club from the bottom because we actually have the potential of a bright future. I would happily back Bruce if I saw a vision for the future and a style of play that is implemented through the ranks. This is shotgun management that won't withstand longevity. We are... once again going to be overloaded with money movers. Build from the youth and lets go from there. For a starter....in a press conference call one of our best U23 talents by the right name just to show you know what you're on about.

  6. We are regressing under him. No improvement! He is turning us into an below average Championship side. This club, this squad and most importantly from a footballing point of view the money we are spending should make us look out of place in terms of quality. He isn't building a team for the future in fact come May we may be back at square one whether we are still in this division or not. Last time he had serious backing he put the likes of John O'Shea, Wes Brown and Assamoah Gyan on big wages. Positive from last season was the defence so he dismantles it and in the process sells Baker. Ironically a few months earlier he bemoans previous managers for selling players who come through the ranks. (Post match Sheff Wed in regards to Bannan and Albrighton). The football is atrocious, no philosophy, no mentality then he states pre match Cardiff he wants to be like them because they have a footballing style. He is the manager and has had time and funds to implement a way of playing football. Fed up of people saying but if we were promoted on 1-0's would you mind. The majority of the time I see us go 1-0 up we blow it by sitting back and inviting teams on to us when we could be out of sight. We have some of the top scoring strikers in the Championship yet struggle to score. Bruce thinks it is because we need to buy more strikers without once considering we don't create chances in the first place. One shot on target today. Problem? Throw money at it instead of coaching. Didn't want him in the first place but after all he was touted as a short term solution with an outside chance of the playoffs last season. He didn't do that which was probably enough to lose his job. Sorry about the rant but I did found it quite theraputic. Up the Villa.

  7. Man of the match today. I've been the first to complain about us having a soft centre so I would be a hypocrite to lambast him. I had a good view of what happened and it was a horrific decision by the linesman. He has ran himself into the ground and was tracking back from a lone centre forward position as we tried to grind out the result and frustration got the better. We see players week in week out square up to the ref often unpunished. Trinity side of the pitch it would of probably been a booking. Worth remembering The Sun are reporting it as a headbutt!!!!!

Are people really calling it a Spurs B team? Son Davies Wimmer Trippier Sissoko are all better than anything we've got. Laughable

It is there B team though. They have better. The players you've mentioned would all get in our first team but they are struggling to get into the Spurs 11 on a Premeirship match day. I find it sad Aston Villa F.C one of the best football clubs in the world can't compete with this.

What the what are you talking about here please? Kindly elaborate this theory more fully.

We were looking good to win the league in 92/93 and Fergie time was implemented. He scored the headers against Sheffield Wednesday that cost us the league. Petty of me but it could of been so different. As I say I can't hold that against him and never will. I will support the team but I have bad memories of Bruce. From that game to celebrating that Enkleman mistake. I should let it go and that is my problem. The concern is I question his loyalty for this football club.

  10. Not convinced. Prior to today's game I dislike the way he talked us down in press conferences and joked about signing Tottenham players which essentially has undermined our club. The press love him. 1992 We lost the league to dodgy time keeping and his headers. I can forgive him for that but he has always had no care for Villa. Please Bruce prove me wrong but I have old scars.

We were pretty solid for most of the game. It may have been a weakened team but this was never going to be an easy fixture.

What I'm more pissed off about is the commentating. It felt as if they were annoyed that we hadn't come there and just laid down from the first minute for an 8-0 thrashing.

This basically sums up what I was thinking. The game today reminded me how much I despise the Premiership. From the media, to the refereeing. They discussed we spent £55 million on players so we should compete yet they slip that a £30 million reserve in Sissoko was getting a rare start. The whole thing upsets me. This club and its fans deserves the best and I struggle to accept the worship and patronising comments from media pundits.

Just saw him at Birmingham international station heading to the airport.

Asked him if he was off and he just shrugged his shoulders.

This is great news. I just saw he posted a video on the new Instagram timeline on a train. He isn't at training anyway so can only presume he is off! Fingers crossed. Whoever is trying to buy him clearly didn't watch the Luton game.... or any appearance come to think of it.
