  1. Looks like the players have got their own way. Have another cigar boys. The squad and club have let him down. I don't blame him for our position. Unfortunately though it will always be the manager in the firing line and this is the way it is. Let's hope we can move forward. There are a few things that I hope come out of this:

    1. Obviously the correct appointment of the next manager. I really do not have a clue who that could be though. We have tried Sherwood who was friendly with the squad. We've tried Garde upping the ante in the training. We've even got Roy Keane in to get them fired up and even he couldn't gain respect. So good luck because I am not sure where to turn.

    2. Some of the players must follow him out the door. Lets hope this sacking is foreshadowing the future of these prima donnas. If we are having a ruthless evaluation the attitude of this squad, this season must be assessed and kicked out for good. No clean slate because we will back to square one within months.

    3. Now our senior players can relax a bit they might pick up a few points between now and the end of season. I am fed up of watching us week in week out with the attitude on display so maybe we might now have something to cheer about. However, although I want to watch us win if we start performing there might be a little part of me annoyed that by throwing a tantrum and proving a point the players have got us relegated. Regardless of professional pride, the club and the fans.

Same as Sherwood before. No animosity from me what so ever. I wish him all the luck unless he crosses paths with the mighty Villa. I thank him for being the only one to face the media and speak to us honestly amidst this crisis.

it's telling that our experienced players, the captain and 'club captain' whatever that is, are showing themselves up in the media. it's telling that players like Bacuna think they're good enough to play in the champions league.

Hardly any of these guys think it's their fault. Theres absolutely no responsibility taken. I bet that the majority think they're the best player in the side and it's the other ten letting them down. They gave up on the season just like they give up on games, long before it is over.

I fear this is the nail on the head. It backs up the rumour that Gabby, Lescott and Richards further fell out with Garde because after the Liverpool game he left them to waiting in the changing rooms. Apparently they kicked off because they thought Garde should of strormed in and had a go at some of our foreign contingent because it was their fault.

  3. Should Germany of kicked it out of play then though? I know the referee has to stop play for an outfield player but surely if a keeper is injured it is a different story and a touch of sportsmanship wouldn't go a miss. To have a pop when he is injured seems a little harsh. They should watch Di Canio v Everton.

and we know he fits this criteria while british managers dont?

I'm confused by that post as I've never mentioned nationality has any significance on a managers ability. In fact I used Bournemouth as a club who are moving forward with Eddie Howe at the helm.

    What is a progressive manager?

Favouring reform as opposed to wishing things to maintain the same. He has tried to up the ante in training to work on fitness. He has worked with and shown an awareness of the youth system. He even sent Gabby off to Dubai. Incidentally when we had an upturn in form. Maybe a coincidence. He has tried to implement a style of play we could build on in the future. Also worth remembering he hasn't had the opportunity to ship out the troublesome players in the dressing room. However I'm not stupid it is a result business and if the players aren't willing to move with this he will fall on his sword. I don't blame him entirely for that though.

  6. When Garde was appointed I think the majority of people looked at it as a positive. For me the main reason for this is that he is progressive, intelligent manager and had proved that at Lyon. Remember this is a team a mainstay in the top 5 and competing in Europe. A credential of manager we will no longer be able to attract. We're seemingly stuck in the dark ages with players unwilling to budge and we need to be dragged out of it. Bournemouth are a fine example and there are many more this season whilst we are being left behind. Garde is keeping a close eye on the Under 21s with Green, Lydan etc. getting game time and this is I think is a high priority for a bright future. This has been a problem for a while with players reaching the Under 21s then hitting a brick wall. I don't blame Garde. Obviously he is not blameless but with his impending sacking my anger is towards the players. The attitude and unwillingness to apply themselves for me is unforgivable. They have revolted against Garde and in doing so relegated us. This angers me. Sources have that he has found it difficult to translate the importance of keeping Aston Villa F.C in the league!!!!! If that is difficult for them to digest I don't want them to wear the shirt again. But anyway well done lads. It looks like you have got your way and got us relegated whilst proving your point. Good luck to the next manager because Sherwood used the pal method and it didn't take long until other obstacles arose. Remember them complaining about it being difficult to play at Villa Park because of the fans? We will be back at square one and the same problem will arise down the line. A quick fix is not the solution to our problems.

  7. The amount of times I've used the line "at least it will be cheaper next season". That was one of my few straws to grasp at. Now next season it looks like going to Man City and Chelsea will be cheaper than going to Ipswich and Leeds. Our timing is terrible.

What you should be asking is what will rashfords perfromances be like when he makes it to 21 with a few million in the bank and its out a reason to care...

There have been plenty of rashfords and plenty of gabbys in English football over the last ten years

Very true! I suppose Gabby used to run defences raged at one point. With current form though I'd take a few games/months of some form of commitment from a youngster with the risk of him becoming successful and the tribulations which that brings.

  9. Rashford scores 2 in Europe and 2 against Arsenal whilst on £500 a week for Man Utd. He is now looking at an improved contract of £15,000. Meanwhile Gabby strolling on £65,000 a week..... I just can't work it all out. It's all confusing. Do you not pay for what you get?! I've defended him but I no longer can. Anyway no one will match his wages and he has got years on this deal so he won't make it easy. He has cruised for too long so it about time Sellars and co. we're given a chance.

  10. If these players aren't playing for Garde they don't deserve to play for anyone. They are employed by Aston Villa and should play for the club, the fans and themselves. ReGARDEless of there feelings of Remi. It is called being professional. Anyway they loved Sherwood and look how that worked out. They're idiots. For all we know Remi has pinpointed the rot and might be hoping to ship out Guzan, Lescott, Richards, Westwood, Gabby etc. but has not had the opportunity. He hasn't even been able to filter them out with the January fiasco. Whoever is manager next season please get players who will play with an ounce of pride.

  11. Will be the most costly signing Villa have ever made. Balaban cost £6 million or so but the cost of Micah will out way much more than that. Of course there are others to point fingers at too but he indicative of this teams attitude and is leading us in the dark with his arrogance, lack of desire and lack of respect for this club.

  12. Disgusting. This is not about Lerner. We all know something needs to change but it does not excuse the displays we are having to endure week in week out. No professional pride what so ever. We will get the same drivel from Micah but I seriously think the Under 21s or even Hednesford Town would put up more of a fight. I've never disliked a Villa player as much as Richards. I'd rather have Alpay at the back. Big changes are needed because it is embarrassing. They should be ashamed but as long as they have their nice cars they're happy.

  13. The sad thing is if we had some pride we could still get out of it the way teams are losing but with this shower there is no chance. I honestly think Walsall would of made more of a fight of the run in. They look so sorry for themselves. They should try watching themselves and paying for the privilege if they want something to be down about. Remember when Sunderland lost 8-0 to Southampton and they payed for the away travel as way of apology. We get a tweet of Frankensteins car and the same old we worked hard from Micah. Selfish, arrogant human beings.

  14. I don't think I've ever hated a Villa team as much as this shower. The whole club needs sorting but the professional pride on display is not Garde or Lerners fault. They should be embarrassed of themselves. No pride! Even if not for the club for themselves and their future. Disgusting and I am ashamed.
