as an analogy.....you are a car salesman...with an annual target of 120 cars and you just do it........but the incremental breakdown is this, you make a great start and sell 90 in the first 6 months, but then go 6 months selling only 30.....hitting target of 120, phew home and dry....Ah!!
Do you think its reasonable for your Boss to ask questions when setting next years budget?...what is your true form, the first 6 or the second 6?
because I can assure you, they would.
Playing football is like making love to a beautiful woman
You’ve got to wait until there’s some grass on the pitch, then try and score, get your balls out, get into position and then shoot in the box.

How's that goal been given to Bruno and not as an own goal.

I thought the follow through didn't matter now as long as the defender got a bit on the ball first.
That's the way it works against us anyway

'project was never going to stand without the support of the fans '
so why no consultation with the fans before announcing it all. all a load of bollox they were arrogant enough to think they could ride roughshod over the fans.

Do you have a BBC Sounds link, or a time reference?
was on the BBC news about 7.15ish so may well play it again shortly

Steve Parish on the BBC just some very well. said he's been living with since he's been in football, the constant threat that everyone doesn't tie the line and give these teams their own way this kind of thing would happen. Goes onto to moan about the changes to the CL and says uefa need to stop pampering to these teams.
it's a good listen and the attitude we need from all the other owners.

This was probably the idea all along.
Massive smoke screen ,making everyone grateful because we now 'only' have a small change to Cl qualifying rather than a whole new league.
They must be laughing thier b*llocks off.
Give it a couple of years to become the norm, then the 'elite' team places get expanded, until they all qualify every year anyway.
Then increase thier share of cash.. And what have you got?
A European super league.
Makes you wonder. All the planning and cost that would have gone into this and then to fold so quickly

BBC are on form:
QuoteChelsea are playing a game of football by the way.
It's against Brighton. It's not in the European Super League. It's in the Premier League. You know, the one we all watch.
There's no crossing of borders needed. The match is 90 minutes long and not shortened to appease those who prefer clips.
Yeah I know. Going to watch it MOTD later

Eventually the league without Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs, and Liverpool or the 'big six' as they're often collectively called, would eventually become just as uncompetitive as it is now, as other teams over time take their place as the dominant forces, teams like us, Everton, Newcastle, Leicester and a few others would fill the spaces vacated.
It will be a lot more competitive than if they are allowed to stay. With the extra games they will have to play they will just go out and buy the Grealish's, Maddisons, Rice's, Pickfords (ok that one was a joke) so they have two strong teams to field, with the additional buying power it will be virtually impossible to stop them.
You won't then get Leicester, Everton, us getting a chance then to break into the top 6 let alone the top 4. Then as they get stronger how long before they start dictating more and more to the PL. It as to be stopped.

I like the part where he suggests that they might have to make the games shorter as the people watching lose interest if nothing happens.
I've been banging on for years about how they want to change the product (football) to cater to the American market and this has always been part of it. Add in some team challenges, VAR-reviews, time-outs and power breaks and you got a product where you can sell a whole lot more commercials.
4 points for kicking the soccer ball into the net, 6 points for heading in, 8 points for scoring from outside the box etc.. games finishing 21-18

It's an argument where Ross needs time to adjust to a new side as well. Maybe he'll come good. But it doesn't change the one thing that makes me dislike him as a player, and that's his work rate. The effort he puts in. That has nothing to do with adjusting or being new, that's just a lazy entitled player.
I like Ross undoubtedly a great a talent, but i do agree with you on the work rate. if you could have Trez's work rate and Ross's ability you would have a world beater, been quite a few players like that though. It can be very frustrating watching him at times knowing with a bit more effort he could transform the game. I was really excited when we signed him and his link up play with Jack at the start was a joy. On the whole, if the deal was right, I would like him to stay.

I don't subscribe to the slagging off of Leeds.....They are a good side.
We beat them, with a real savvy performance.......lets just move on.
We are Aston Villa, lets remain gracious.
sorry, but for me they deserve all the slagging off they get. always been a horrible team for me and see no difference in them now to change that opinion. Bamford just typifies them but there's plenty of others llorente, Roberts, Ayling......
