  1. I suppose we are now entering that time of the year where any one of our star players has only got to look sad or smile with their mouth but not their eyes, or their comments are misquoted on social media etc etc, and then we all go into panic mode and assume they want out of Villa and play for their dream club.........😊

  2. Never thought about leasing a car rather than using PCP etc. What are the advantages and disadvantages?

BTW my old 2011 Yaris reg plate beginning with AV..... is not a personalised one it's just that I am lucky to live near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and that's the prefix used😀.

.....and no that's not the reason why I moved over to this part of the country!!!

As this is my area, it's so simple.

Really makes me angry. Tell them for 60k I'll be their Facilities  & Compliance Manager 😅

Also are they happy with the performance of the current online ticketing portal? From experience it's quite hard to use?

I too used to be involved with managing facilities, but next month I will be 66, so too old to take up the role of Aston Villa FC facilities manager, but could I be your part time assistant? I dont mind doing the sh£t jobs as nobody else appears to be doing them...

  4. We really need someone to be more aware of stuff that needs doing at VP.

Others have mentioned a facilities manager that should be doing a walk around the day before a match checking basic stuff works before 40k descend on VP.

Blocked urinals, bogs, taps that don't work, hand driers that are faulty, paper towels, enough bog paper etc etc all need addressing days before a match...

Gissa job, I will do it...😏

The big thing people are gonna speculate about this summer is the finances and if there is any risk we won't be allowed in the CL by UEFA. If they could convincingly clear that up it would be nice.

Is this the next big thing we should all worry and endlessly speculate about?

Anyone following the story in the Netherlands?

A ref gave a team 3 red cards, added 15 minutes of extra time in which the other team scored to win the game and the title, and then he joined in with their celebrations

The guy singing the song and lifting the trophy? Yeah, the ref. Seriously. :D

No doubt he will be recruited as a perfect addition to the load of idiot refs we have had to suffer in the premier league.

  7. I see that Arsenal women are now going to play all their home games at the Emirates due to the amount that want to watch them play.

Pity our women cannot play all their games at VP other than a handful of games. Admittedly we dont get the same amount turning up to watch as Arsenal women though.

we've had this this season. villa say you should go to ticket office in person and reassign to the family member if you cannot get through by phone.

the lack of ability to reassign to another member online is astounding...i thought something was in the works with this ages ago?

I spoke about this when I was on the phone to the ticket office to reassign my ST for a game I couldn't make recently, they said plans are in place to do it on line next season.

Makes a lot of sense tbh

  9. "Trying" to talk to a man yoo supporter at a bbq last night he said that the problem with man yoo this season is that they have 8 players all out injured. I struggled to think of one of them.

He also mentioned that when he is able to get a ticket via their membership scheme, they get given a waterproof cover in case it rains, as the water leaks through the roof and onto them!

Still no idea why we lost to them twice this season, the current "4th position worry" will not have existed had we won at least one of those games...

The Spurs players couldn't give two shits about local rivalry. They are very likely pals with most of the Arsenal players as they certainly all hang out in places like Dubai. As with players of all PL clubs.

Fans seriously overestimate how much the players care about such menial things as fan rivalries. They really couldn't care less and it's them that play the game, not the fans.

Very true, for the vast majority of players it is just a job that they are very good at and very fortunate that the pay for that job is pretty good...

  11. Spuds, metaphorically speaking are now "smelling blood". They know that our form has dropped off with two difficult games for us next up.

    4th spot awaits.

All they have to do is win their games and I think they will 😣

If we end up getting 5th spot and losing in an European competition semifinal, it will look on paper as an outstanding season, however I think many of us will be disappointed if that is what happens.

We look toothless and devoid of ideas now, not helped by injuries and loss of form.

If the Villa was a marathon runner we have "hit the wall"

    VTID

  12. I think we will pay for the pen miss by Dougie. If it was 3-4 rather than 2-4 I think we would have a chance.

They will hit us on the break with a dodgy offside goal and that will be that unfortunately.

To progress we have to move the ball quicker, and try shooting instead of trying to walk the ball in the net.

The ref will decide who goes through to the final.

Feel free to quote me when we beat them 4 - 0 😉

  13. Problem is with humanity is that if there was no fighting over which religion is best, humanity will find another excuse to fight each other...

It is enlightening to compare the 3 major religions, there is almost the difference of a thickness of a fag paper between them.

    What nonsense.

ALL he ever gets IS criticism, even for those which isn't his fault 😂... Which board have you been on?

Emi is so good he has papered over the cracks of repeated unforced errors time and time again. Olsen exposes that by default of not being as good

Being a number 2, especially to Emi Martinez, and with our fanbase, has got to be the most high pressure place to be in.

I'm just generally defensive of our players when I feel they are being picked on, whilst others are totally absolved of any blame as it's convenient.

A good comment.  I totally agree, Emi papers over the cracks of our current weak defence. Any other goalkeeper is going to be exposed to and highlights  all that weakness.

Its the defence/midfield etc that is the problem due to injuries, confidence or whatever...

If Spurs didn’t have Burnley and Sheff UTD, I’d be saying it’s ‘done’ too.

However, those sides regularly concede 4+ goals to even the poorer teams in the division.

It would only take the following set of results for them to catch us.

    Spurs 4-1 Burnley
    Spurs 4-0 Sheff Utd
    Spurs 1-1 Man City
    Villa 0-2 Liverpool
    Villa 0-1 Palace

That is not exactly bonkers and quite frankly, we’ll be lucky to only lose by two now Liverpool are playing without pressure but still for Klopp. Palace have hit form and look dangerous too.

It’s very likely Spurs will be 4 points behind us by the time we play Liverpool.

And Spurs of course know this......this is not over by any means.

If we play like the last couple of games it is unlikely that will get get any points from liverpool or palace. It could be all on the man city v spurs game.

I thought the 200 mile round trip every other week or so was bad enough 😅

    Yeah same for me !

Credit to her for commitment to that journey and the job for so long...must have been long days sometimes.

Thanks Carla Ward, for all you have done for Villa Women

Why is that then? Because it would help out Watkins who is bad at them?

You can always award him your own golden boot where only certain goals count if you like 😁

Just think it's a fairer system all round tbh. An extreme example, 'arry "the diver" kane's penalties that he continually cheats to win by being "clever", I don't consider them as worthy of a player scoring in open play ( and I don't care who the player is). Yes he still has to score from the spot but it's a free hit.

  18. I recall us losing 0 - 1 at home to them a few seasons ago. They had one shot on target and it went in. They were managed by Mick mcCarthey. It was a dreadful game.

I now live 45 mins away from Ipswich and they are all coming out of the woodwork now.

In the dark days of the 1970's I have never forgotten nor forgiven them singing about the IRA a few days later after the Birmingham pub bombings when we played them at their place.

I know times have changed but I hope the wheels fall off their sodding tractor next season and go straight down with less points than Sheffield United
