  1. I won't labour the point as people will have their own views, but Grealish not getting an offer doesn't me a. people aren't talking to Delph. Not that I'm saying they are. I am sure you are right, but people moaning it hasn't happened with no idea of the conversations going on is silly.

  2. Saying "we should have tied him down" or " the board should be working on this" is nonsense. We have no idea what conversations are going on - whatever is said in public by Delph, Lambert or anyone else. I don't know how the bloke who sits across from me in work is getting on in his payrise discussion so to think we know anything about contract negotiations is naive at best.

  3. People keep putting N'Zogbia on the wing in these speculative formations and I wonder if they saw him play there for us. It was painful because he wanders off not just defensively but attackingly - I remember so many times our midfield would look for an outlet on his wing and he would have gone walkabout. I think he has potential to be very good for us but throughout his career I have only ever been impressed by him in a roaming role off the striker.

  4.

We literally have one of the best names, why change it.....

Do people in Norway know that we are from Birmingham?

The fewer people who know this the better.

    That's how we got Benteke!

  5. Pretty obvious what's going on and no need to talk about a disgrace or whatever. They're chasing compensation, this is our countermeasure, we'll all walk away without anyone paying anything.

Bit cheeky from the Villa but then if Norwich had let Lambert speak to us they would've got compensation. Clubs don't have the power these days.

  6. Better photo and we can see the colours better. The collar looked white on the other photo but it's clearly blue in this one. I can't complain. It's better than I expected from Macron, not sure why many people seem to be moaning about it. I might buy it, depends on if the away kit is nicer.

The away kit is very different.

They have to be, otherwise they don't help in the event of a clash.

    :winkold:

  7. "I have loved my 3 years at the club and it sadness me to right this but want use to here it from me first #lovedmytime"

I can't believe that's genuine. No one could pack that much bad spelling into a single sentence unless they were doing it as a joke.

Or unless they were a footballer.

Holt's quite severely dyslexic, was on a TV show about it a while back.

He may be stupid as well, I don't know about that.

  8. Firstly, for the record, I still think Dunne and Collins are, even though not currently at their best, top quality central defenders. I would genuinely like to know where the reputation for troublemakers comes from. Is it because of them falling out with Houllier (the same man who so many on here say fawned over Liverpool and didn't motivate his players)? Don't seem to remember them playing badly under MON. In fact Dunne was a pretty much a fans favourite.

IMO they were poor players then, they're poor players now, and Dunne is even slower than he was.

MON got them playing well but he certainly didn't cut out the calamities.

Not talking about any troublemaking here - just wandering out of position, missing tackles etc.

Now I'm not saying they can't be BETTER under Lambert than under McLeish - I am sure they can - but I would still be happier with a change.

But, actually, I'll leave worrying about that decision to Lambert as I trust him to make it. Which is a lovely feeling!

  9. I just hope he doesn't bring Holt...

Why do people keep saying this? 17 goals last season was it? How many goals did our highest scorer have?

Because 1. he'd be the new Heskey and 2. It shows a complete lack of imagination and forward-thinking on the part of the new manager

You are talking rubbish. How many goals did Heskey have last season? 1. 16 less than the apparent "new Heskey" you speak about. Please forgive me for saying i wouldn't mind someone that actually scores goals.

I hate to be a cynic and I'm not normally, but Holt scoring 17 PL goals reminds me a lot of Marlon Harewood scoring 16 PL goals a bit before we bought him.

  10. Micky Quinn never fails to wind me up. Such an end of a bell.

What's that bloated scouser said now.

The usual we're not a big club drivel he's basing his thoughts on our attendances last year and our league position. I wonder if that's why we are maybe looking for a new manager?

He said we were the biggest moaners in football!

    I also say that tbf.

  11. Another inept Norwich dispaly, thats almost 3 months of Shite from Lambert

Please Lord keep him away from my club

Lambert said weeks ago that he thought they were safe so he was going to try new systems, different players and different tactics to guide his thinking in the summer, so I'm not surprised they've dropped a bit.

Haha, an easy cop out line then, it's poor management IMHO, their luck and adrenalin has run its course. Lambert will be good for clubs like Norwich, WBA, Derby Coubty, mid sized clubs. I don't see enough tactical nous from him at all, even at the start of this season Norwich were seen as a maverick attacking team who would score goals but couldn't defend

    Not my choice

You've made your mind up and that's fine but he said it when they were flying and I remember thinking what a sensible idea for a club in their position. In the same way that if we'd had 40 points a couple of months back but no realistic European aspirations I would have welcomed McLeish trying out kids like Gary Gardner more with the pressure off.

Being brutally honest I haven't seen much of Norwich before or after he said it so I have no idea if they've changed style, been using different players or whatever, all I remember is that he said it and I was envious of them being in a position to say it.

  13. as much as i love paul mcgrath, i wouldn't have him in the top 2 central defenders in the premiership.

I'd have Vidic, Stam on the team and even Terry ahead of him.

Saying that I still voted for him , out of the villa/ireland association

I don't agree with you on the Vidic/Stam thing (although they make up the top three with McGrath for me) - but I am gobsmacked that anyone could say Terry is better than McGrath.

  14. He keeps drifting out wide, (when the criticism was he wasn't being played up front as favoured) and he keeps missing chances whenever he's got them. Quite frankly he needs to snap out of that, but he's showing nothing to show he will.

Not defending his lack of goals but I think the wandering is team instructions from McLeish. He doesn't like anyone being too near the opposition area...

  15. Hope the injury isnt too bad. I rate Herd alot. I went to the man city fa cup game last season when he played right back and he looked lost but this season since moving into the midfield i think he has been onsistant in an unconstiant team. Hes still learning but already looks good in my opinion so hopefully another season or 2 he could be our main man in the center of midfield.

    Don't forget he isn't that young - 23.

    looks decent though.

Actually reminds me a lot of Darren Fletcher, who came through at a similar age IIRC.

  16. Agree he needs to progress and work hard but those writing him off at 19 are harsh in my opinion. At his age Gabby was just about to make his debut, and plenty of top strikers the world over were yet to play senior football. Didier Drogba was still two years away from first team football in the French Second Division.

Think he sometimes suffers by having been in the same group as Bannan, Clark etc so people forget he's a good couple of years younger than them. Even if he doesn't break through this or next season he still has lots of time on his side.

No guarantees, of course, but a lot seem to have given up on him a bit early IMO.

  17. Ginko, see your point but Stevens has played in the Europa League, including against this season's very strong Sours side, without embarrassing himself.

Just saying, not saying he's definitely going to be a star for us of course.

  18. My personal view is that it would be nice if we chose our kit maker based on ethics above all else. Was a bit weird having Acorns on the Nike kit.

None of the big brands have ethics issues any more. Those days are long gone, and Nike are now one of the most ethical companies in the world.

Nike's factory in Indonesia got stung for millions in compensation for forcing workers to do unpaid overtime literally last month...
