  1. The Americans. Only a couple of episodes so far 3rd one coming tonight. Matthew Rhys is outstanding as a Russian agent living with wife (also and agent) and oblivious kids in suburban 1980's Washington DC. Well worth a download since I have no idea when it'll start to air in the UK.

  2. I don't think we will get relegated because

    a) Lerner would have no choice but to pump money in at January regardless if we were in with a chance of relegation. He's not stupid, relegation would not be in his plan, whatever it is.

    B) Lamberts too good

    c) Wehave Given, Vlaar and Bent, none of the teams in the relegation battle have anywhere near this quality in any of their individuals

My god, it's like you predicted the exact opposite of what would happen.

  3. It's terribly sad to see just how obsessed some Villa fans are with hating Bannan. Like he is the whole reason Villa are shit? **** off, he's mostly hated cause he's short, Scottish and a Celtic fan. Same way that certain people on here enjoyed detesting Stiliyan Petrov for years until he got sick (that finally shut the up). No matter how well Petrov would play they would pick on every single mistake or wayward pass. People running to the side of the pitch to abuse a player as the match kicks off? School yard bully mentality, firstly a couple of people started hating on him then he quickly picked up steam as a figure of hate, now it's out of control people on twitter wishing Bannan was dead it's truly shameful.

  4. People were calling for boycotts and protests when we were up finishing 6th, getting to cup finals and venturing (albeit briefly) into Europe. Then we have the nerve to sing "Shit support M'Lord!"

  5. Aston Villa must stop conceding from corners, says Paul Lambert

“It’s not rocket science. You go man for man. If it’s your man who scores then we know who was supposed to pick them up." - Paul Lambert

I just have to wonder what the hell they do in training, the players are always haphazardly following their man around the box, fixated on the opposition players, ignoring the balls raining in. Maybe I'm wrong but I always thought that the best way to defend corners was to attack the ball coming in. You shouldn't have to worry about leaving a man unmarked in the box when you get to the ball first.

  6. He has a young team who for the most part have played together for years with a good bit of success. Suddenly they have a chance to really impress and were gifted a fantastic opportunity to beat League 2 opposition and get to Wembley boosted by the return to fitness of a couple more experienced senior players who should also have a point to prove. Now can somebody explain to me how in the **** Lambert can't seem to motivate these players? Is it him, his staff, the players, the board, the tea and biscuits? Something somewhere along the line is severely broken at Villa.

  7. The modern world from business to sport is data driven. You think modern football is bad, American sports are a statisticians wet dream, it can get very dull very quickly.

  8. Seeing Messi rip Brazil apart, single handed from my seat in Giants Stadium....

NO WAIT, I turned down the opportunity to go to that game assuming both teams wouldn't be arsed fielding their big name players. Instead I saw it unfold on a screen in a pub a couple of miles away **** idiot that I am. Worst moment and mistake of 2012.

    Best moment, becoming a dad.

  9. has to be one of the worst corner takes i have ever seen at the club

Did he take the corner yesterday that led to the penalty? If so it was one of the best corners I've seen taken by a Villa player since Ashley Young at his peak. If not, then whoever took it should take all of our corners from now on.

  10. That was actually a foul on the defender from Benteke. He was all over him. Not that I care :)

Not too mention the defender on the line who was about to clear it off the line before Albrighton body checked him back into the net ;)

To be fair both Clark and Baker should have scored off previous corners. It looks like we have got the delivery sorted but finishing needs a significant amount of practice.
