Still time for him to walk if he's not happy or maybe he struck a deal with the owners that he can leave on his terms and not get sacked or maybe I'm just clinging onto a glimmer of hope that there's still a chance of him leaving...

Shocking again tonight. Our players were throwing themselves to the ground and acting like they just had their leg broken every chance possible as all we are under Bruce is a set piece team, I think it would be better if the players were coached to out play the opposition in open play and control games. Why did he bring on 3 strikers which meant Grealish was playing in his own half for the last 20 minutes, why not push Grealish further up rather than further back as hes the player we want to be getting on the ball in and around the opposition box. Clueless again tonight by Bruce...

You mean Hourihane (which I agree with) not Lansbury
Yeah true, my bad

He's class and for some reason I feel he doesn't get the credit he deserves, he does more than just score. He contributes defensively and is a great link player for our midfield and he covers loads of ground every game, I'd guess he runs more than any other player in our team. Just wish he was starting with Ireland.

Again I don't see these telling passes that you're talking about. When has BB made these passes? I don't remember them. in fact I'd say he's quite conservative in his passing.
Jedinak was probably our best player int he first half last night, not that that is saying much. So I don't see how Bjarnasson's inclusion would have made much difference.
Thats fair enough but for me Thor pushes further forward and while he often just lays it off similar to jedinak he also plays some nice 1-2s and looks for the forward pass whereas Ive rarely seen that from jedinak who is extremely one dimensional.

A strange night, a couple of minutes after kick off Cardiff were losing and I was hoping we were gonna make some points back on them but come half time we were 2 down and they were winning. Hard to see us getting 2nd now unless Cardiff fall apart and we win every game.
-
Statistically they may be similar but Thor being more mobile ,quicker and more skillful means he gets into better positions to make telling passes that improve us as an attacking force. Jedinak wins a lot more headers tho but imo he doesn't find a teammate enough with his headers. I thought Thor should of started tonight as QPR were always going to sit back and let us have more of the ball and Thor would of suited that type of game better.

Injured
He's on the bench and was moved to right midfield last game to accommodate tuanzebe

Why has Elmo been dropped, he's been quality at right back and consistantly puts in good crosses. I don't like seeing our defense being altered for no reason.

Great game so far, some really nice interplay between our attacking players just haven't been able to finish it off.

Looks like good fun for Forest fans, last I checked they are signing 6 players...

Mcgoldrick is a smart player who is decent enough at this level, I'd be happy enough to get him in on a short term deal.

If we lose at Boro and only draw with Bristol? We'd be 5-6 points off 6th if that happens. We wouldn't have another league fixture for 12 days.
I'd be surprised if he made it through that scenario.
I'd take 2 losses in those games if it meant Bruce getting the sack, don't like thinking like that but the life has been drained out of me as a Villa fan and I just want Bruce gone now no matter how. I guess the problem is also that the likes of wyness and round need to go as well as they will probably hire another dinosaur long ball shit manager. I'd love us to give Dean Smith a shot at it here and give him the time Bruce has had to try get the club firing again.

Let's not get too carried away with how well were doing, we've had a nice little run of fixtures. After the international break will be the real test, if he can have us in the play off places and close to top 2 after our next 6 fixtures then I'll cut him some slack.

That was one for the people who don't care how we play and only care about the result, we were shocking for the majority of the game but somehow won.
Hourihane Motm, he was everywhere today and nice goal

Terrible again. Slow and out of position, needs dropping but wait who have we got to replace him? Well done again Bruce...

The shit show continues, lucky not to lose 3-0. That Brentford manager ain't half bad especially when u consider he has had to sell his best players and still gets his team playing good football and creating loads of chances.
Bruce out, Dean Smith in!!

I think another win and most will have to cede we are playing decently.
Hopefully then a bit of the extra pressure can be taken off Bruce and the team; Then they can actually start to enjoy playing, instead of fearing repercussions of losing.
It is in all of out interests, whatever any thoughts on Bruce.
He never should of changed the formation in the first place, we had just scored 8 goals in 2 games and for some reason Bruce thought it was a good idea to mess with a winning formula. Bruce keeps showing how limited he is and makes silly decisions too frequently.

Sorry mate but I just don't see that from him. I think it goes unnoticed because he brings nothing to the game. Maybe I'm wrong and would love someone to provide stats to show it because I dread to think we have another dud midfielder on our books.

Does a lot of the donkey work that goes unnoticed so he'll inevitably be hated at Villa but his stats for tonight were 3 tackles, 3 interceptions, 5 successful long passes from 8 attempted and 53 total passes with a 93% pass completion.
Theres his stats for the Bristol city game, if he does that every game then we will have one of the best midfielders in the division. I wasnt a big fan of him before he came to Villa but I think hes got better with each game as he settles in.
