Big spending doesnt make it smart spending , they are looking at relegation which would be a disaster with the new Tv deal next year so the are desperate and paying more than they need too.

Egypt star Mohamed Aboutrika is hoping to secure his long awaited move to England this month.

The Al-Ahly playmaker has already been offered a trial spell at Reading, but Aston Villa, Bolton and Portsmouth have also been linked with moves.

Now the 28-year-old insists that the time is right to leave the Egyptian champions.

"I have completed all possible goals with Al-Ahly and want a new challenge as well as to secure my future," Aboutrika told egyptianplayers.com.

Xavier is better than Hughes and Ferguson on a loan deal perhaps could boost the squad.

The way I see it is the players we really want are not going to be an option untill summer so getting some decent experianced players in to maintain a decent league finish is the way we are likely to go.

As for SWP you have to take into consideration that he wants to play for England but is 3rd in line behind Gerard and Lennon for the right side position.He needs first team football.

He had options however it would seem.West Ham would mean he could stay in London where I imagine he is probarly settled and I belive he has 2 young kids.

He would improve us alot the option of a decent outlet on the wing and someone to run at defences is something we lack badly.

General, I am a simple child with simple needs.

I know we already have Villa Value games and such like, but I think we should do more to get the youngster interested. How about for home matches we invite one of the local schools to bring a couple of hundred children along for a nominal fee (say £2 each)? Lay them on coaches, a tour of the ground, perhaps a quick meet with one of the players?

When I was at Junior school in Birmingham in the early 90's we had some Villa coaches(guys who take the summer soccer schools) come to our school and take PE lessons and we got handed out copies of the team photo.Do they still do this?

JPA is good at attacking high balls to head at goal.Lumping balls up to him was never his game he wins some but generally a big CB is going to over power him.

Baros is obviously the first choice I don't think he would have moved without some gurantee of that.So it's up to KP and JPA to be is partner.

They key to it all is weither we can get a settled side and create chances.JPA good season under DOL had JLS on top of his game working in tandem with Barry and Whittingham also did well that season putting some great cross's into the box.

Good point Phillips and Angel have both had their injury problems in recent times.
