Not sure if it’s the correct place, but Ronaldo playing in the France 98 World Cup final is still a mystery to some.

He wasn’t playing, then he was playing? Did he have a nervous breakdown pre-match? Did Nike force him to play? Whatever happened, it clearly affected the whole team and France were worthy winners on the day.

He had a seizure, was unconscious for a few minutes, no cause was ever found and he insisted he played is the official account from the man himself

Mercedes have asked for a review of the decision not to penalise Red Bull's Max Verstappen for forcing Lewis Hamilton wide in the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

    On Board Footage now available

As @BOF said, setting next weekend up nicely.

Whats the argument though? The footage shows he didn't turn into lewis, surprisingly so but he didn't

I mean, they can't prove in any way max intentionally missed the apex (I think he did btw) but its never going to proved, its an opinion not a fact.

I thought the FIA owned all the camera footage and sell it around the world?

I’m not having that excuse at all. At the time the race director said they’ve had a proper look and no investigation needed.

    The plot thickens.

I don't get it myself, the stewards, who you would think have every camera available to make decisions didn't have access to this camera

I'm not demanding max gers thrown out, a time penalty or any punishment, I just find it perplexing, like I said, in 25 years of watching f1, I've never known footage being unavailable to the stewards at all

It's still remarkable that there is no footage from inside Max's car at the most controversial part of the race. No matter what side of the fence you're on, it's quite amazing that they've not shown footage of Verstappen's steering wheel going into that corner.

On this, the Race Director has said the stewards didn't have access to the onboard and the rightholders need to release it before they can view it

I've been watching f1 since 1996, I've never known the stewards not having access to any camera view, sky broadcast so many camera options, yet they didn't have any way of viewing that onboard camera, I find that hard to believe, even now 24 hours after the race it still hasn't been shown

Cam only presume they are downloading it off the car via a 56k modem

The notes say it’s been checked multiple times during the season and always passed.

Was this a regular check, or because someone suspected it was opening wider than allowed?

Well the stewards said, that the extra gap was caused by additional play in either the DRS activator or pivots, "or some combination or other fault with the mechanism or incorrect assembly of parts".

again, as I posted a few minutes ago, its just too convenient for me, Mercedes rear wing passes all required tests, this weekend it's assembled wrong and red bull it appears knew about it......

  6. Either way, by error or by design it appears (from the FIA notes) that the Mercedes rear wing had been assembled incorrectly allowing the DRS to open more than allowed

All just seems a bit too convenient for me, that red bull knew the rear wing was opening more than permitted, this could be spygate all over again

    It's championship ending anyway

What is fascinating to me is that unless Verstappen can judge the difference between 85mm and 87mm from a distance of 50 yards, through a visor at a hundred miles an hour, he didn't wander over to the Mercedes to have an obvious play with the wing because he had his suspicions - someone at Red Bull knew, and the only way they'll have known is that someone at Mercedes told them. Which means somewhere along the line, knowing these two groups, they're paying extra money to each others pit crews for extra information - which I love.

Verstappen wandering over and having a play with the wing in a sort of "have you guys had a look at this at all?" way is grand theatre.

The rumour is sky pundit paul di resta got wind of it and told red bull, again, rumour

I think we were all wrong. Bailey, Buendia have looked poor, there was clearly no rationale behind Ings.

The failure to improve the midfield......well.

As perslow said in the address to the fans when grealish left its impossible to replace him, which is true but it seems the way they replaced him, looking at stats to give us what jack gave us has been badly implemented

It really has looked like there was no plan how to integrate these signings (Bailey being injured hasn't helped)

The board got the Smith appointment right, he did the job required but now we need to move on not treat water

Its not Norwich or West Brom fault its the Premier League that need to stop this. But they dont care ae Chelsea scoring 7 will generate more plastic fans in Asia

the problem isn't the League, its down to Norwich not having a plan or ambition to stay up, the Premier league provide clubs with money to buy players to improve the team and thus improve the product the club is offering

All Norwich do is spend a few quid on players who won't rock the boat when they get relegated and are to good for the championship but not good enough for the prem

It would be hilarious if they did treat it as an investment and ran it to make a profit like Ashley did, keeping Bruce on and just targeting staying up for the TV revenue each year.

A new broom sweeps clean, but I really do think they will carry on with the old broom Ashley used, yeah they will spend a bit more but nowhere near what happened with man City under the Abu Dhabi group

Won't that change if they whack a couple of hundred million onto their top line?

I'm still sceptical about this takeover, I think the media are spinning bullshit stories about the wealth to wind up other clubs fans to generate click bait articles like "Newcastle are now the richest club in the world"

I remember the press printing similar sbite when Portsmouth got took over by Ali Al Faraj.... who in the end didn't even exist

Newcastle will be a better club from now on, but throwing money at it does nothing without the right people who spend it

Simon Jordan said since Mike Ashley has run them with profit for years they could easily spend 500 million this summer and not get in trouble with FFP.

That's a big worry for me.

If its the same interview I heard he said as Newcastle turn a profit they are free to spend what they want for the next 2 seasons and at the end of the third season ffp kicks in with allowed losses etc so they need to show a balance sheet that reflects the spend to avoid punishment
