Just looked on the Spurs version of VT ("The Fighting Cock"), and they've got a new manager poll. By far the top 3 favourites are: Nagelsmann, Slot and Poch.
Do yourself a favour and look at the first couple of pages of the Harry Kane thread on there.
”The next Grant Holt” and “not good enough for Spurs, will end up at a team like Fulham or Villa” are two of my favourites.

completely agree, i hope Emery gets exactly what "he" wants, and not what Lange or someone else wants.
I had a little shot at rating our signings since promotion.........im gonna get some crying/raging i think from some
For me at least, we have spent 200m+ on average or poor transfers since promotion, we wasted a lot of money i think.
Stopped reading at Heaton: average

Peak joy would be beating them thanks to a clearly wrong VAR decision. I think I'd be laughing until next season.

Bit rich given that you were campaigning for SG to stay until the bitter end.
Even if Purslow did delay his sacking, you were in support of that decision at the time.

Even more glad we beat spurs now. What a memory for her, and what an inspirational kid.
Obviously didn't cry at all watching that.

A Spaniard with great stats who left the Prem under a cloud, arguably because of an overly-expectant fan base, went back to Spain, and could now come back to the UK with a point to prove to the fans of a Sky Six team?
This story sounds familiar.

For all the negativity about Tottenham, they are actually above us. So they can't be that bad.
"Last 10 games we sit in 14th with 12 points. And in that run of 10 games we played; Saints, Forest, Bournemouth, Everton, Palace, Villa to give it some perspective on how **** god awful it is."
-from the fighting cock.
They are above us based on early season form. Current form, which is what matters right now, is the opposite story.
Looking forward past the summer, if they don't get the managerial appointment right and they lose Kane, they could be next season's Chelsea.

Good signing for a team chasing the playoffs, but ultimately going to get sidelined if they get promoted.
I think he's a decent player for a mid table championship club.

Xhaka ? Lets not be silly now dont want that ‘red card every match’ meathead anyway he can stay where he is.
4 red cards in 222 games. Kienan Davies has 3 goals in 73 league appearances, so by your standards he's basically goal-a-game.
Moot point since he won't come here anyway, but he's a quality player.

Its incredible a team with maddison barnes tielsmann vardy inichaneio (sp?l) is going to go down
Agreed. Leicester, unlike Everton and Leeds, have a carcass worth picking at if they go down. Maddison, Barnes and Tielemanns shouldn’t be in a team that gets relegated.

Looking forward to next weekend’s results when I find myself edging towards Forest and Everton as the ones marching with the saints…
That's a lot of edging.

Outside of the games at Villa Park and the Amex, has anyone ever met a Brighton fan? I haven’t, and although I believe they do exist, they’re not in great numbers.
I know one. He lives in Portugal. Makes it even more confusing.

Next two games are Man City then away at barcodes.
They need 4 points from West Ham and Spurs. Hope they get three on the last day of the season but are still relegated.

Sorry if this has been discussed already but there seems to be some confusion over how many places qualify for Europe. My understanding from the below link is that because Man Utd beat Brighton and it's a Man City Man Utd FA Cup final, and with Man Utd winning League Cup , then the top 7 now qualify for Europe?
https://www.premierleague.com/european-qualification-explained
Yeah, this is up there with "can we sign two Man U players on loan" in terms of debate.
But you're right, top 7 for Europe.

Heard that Southgate wasn't impressed with the goal. Said he should have passed instead, then tracked back.

Chelsea mid-table, Liverpool off kilter for a large portion of the season and Spurs in freefall. This is a chance to get UEFA cup qualification, and it may not repeat itself next year. Would mean a lot to our summer recruitment plans too.
I think those saying they don't care about Europe this season are glossing over how unique a chance this might be, and if we take it we could be taking ourselves to the next level well before we expected.
Think next season will be a lot tougher to crack the top 7, but if we make Europe and sign the right players we could embed ourselves in the Champions League mix over the next few years.
Disclaimer: I've been drinking on a school night.

If we beat Fulham on Tuesday it's effectively then a four team mini-league for 5-8th, with only the bottom team not getting into Europe.
Us, Spurs, Liverpool and Brighton..
If you could go back to the end of October and tell any Villa fan that this is how the season ends, they'd laugh in your face.

We may need him again before the season is out and whilst he is terrible, it would be nice if the fans didn’t get on his back on social media and when he’s on the pitch to undermine his confidence further. The club will be aware of his limitations and can address it in the summer (please god).
I get the intent behind what you're saying, but at the same time if some guy who tips the scales at 30 stone gets called fat on Twitter, I'd be shocked if it was the first time he'd thought about it. Lad owns a mirror.

I can honestly see where they're coming from. No Europe gives Levy no room to spin. They're losing Kane and they need to rebuild, having less games in what they expect to be (at best) a transitional season isn't a bad thing.
I've no affinity for spurs but I also don't find some of the comments their fans made about them being "glad that Villa got Europe because their fans will enjoy it more" as in any way condescending. They're right - it means more to us, while they have an overhaul to focus on - assuming they can get someone competent to magar them.
They know they're in the shit - if (when) Kane leaves and get the next manager wrong, they'll be us under SG but with a newer stadium and a worse owner.
