I understand they play different positions, it was more the point that they've done nothing to warrant a callup. Richarlison is being picked on his World Cup form etc but Cunha has scored about one goal for Wolves since joining in January and Lodi was shite for Forest last season (admittedly in a weak team).

If we're looking just at players who play in Dougie's position, there is obviously Joelinton and Guimaeres. Guimaeres I think fair enough but Dougie is a much better footballer than Joelinton even if he doesn't have his power or physicality. Then he's picked Andre over him for this squad who plays in Brazil, and in previous squads picked Danilo from Forest and Gomes from Wolves who are nowhere near as good and play for rubbish teams. He also picked Santos from Chelsea who they then loaned back out because he wasn't ready for the Premier League. Yet Luiz won both our player of the season awards last season and been our best player for the last 12 months in a side that finished 7th. The Brazil squad is certainly not picked on a merit, even Fred was being picked over Dougie for the World Cup, no wonder Brazil have been underperforming for so long and it serves them right for their stupid squad selections.

I want all our players called up to their national teams, particularly when they deserve it. Dougie's exclusion for so long is a genuine disgrace given the consistency he has shown week in week out for us.

I remember there was some controversy in the past with Brazilian players getting capped to allegedly boost their profile/price.  Celtic got really done badly with this if mY memory serves me right

  2. I had a good bit of money on Argentina at last world cup, so kept a keen eye on them when they played.  He definitely was the weak point in comparison to others.  He was steady but won’t be this brilliant player for us.

Not a single piece of information on this story has come anywhere except if you pay him money he'll tell you in a private chat. 🤣

Used to follow him over transfer window, but then i left twitter a couple of years ago.  I seem to remember he didn’t know much but had a couple of contacts in certain clubs that were mostly correct.  QPR and Burnley if I remember right, so might be truth in it.

If we have a buy back, then its great deal for us

It could well be this… if a deal is close to being agreed. They want 30m straight up, we’ve offered 20m + 10m in add ons…. 25m done deal?

Did they not pay 50m for him last season.  Why would they accept so little in comparison?

Unfortunately not if his contract was running out.

His agent says he signs this and you get £30-60m or he goes for free very soon. We were over a barrel. If there is one, I'd be happy if the club are looking to give him an extension and get rid of it.

He's undoubtedly looked our best player in pre-season. Totally comfortable in his role. Cruising through minutes.

He was our best player last season.  He would be  Irreplaceable, especially at this stage

Digne is not a back up, he’s an alternative. There is a difference and he’s a valuable member of the squad. He will play loads this season.

We aren’t in a position yet to have two players like Dinge and Couthino on the wages they are on to be playing as alternatives.  Another year or two maybe.

Come on Monchi. Get rid of some more!

To be fair he hasn’t got rid of much.  We virtually gave Wes away and nakamba was always going at that price.
We still have the 5 or 6 players who are costing us a fortune and aren’t going to play much.

ie Hause, Couthino, Dendonker, chambers, Traore,  Davis. Even Digne who is on alot of money for a backup.

One of my best cinema going days involved a Saturday at New St Odeon, a good mate and Face/Off followed by LA Confidential on the big screen. Followed by a few beers.

    Halcyon days.

I went to watch this show at cinema with an ex.  Had a few drinks before hand.  Came out at end and said I didn’t think Sylvester Stallone was in it.  Turned out I went into the screening beside it which was showing copland.

All your Spanish full-backs are belong to us.

I’m just back from spain from my annual holiday and i was taken aback by the amount of Spanish teenagers wearing English prem tops.  City was the big one but believe it or not there was a good few with Villa tops.  More so than pool or utd.  With our Spanish connections and South American players, we could be tapping into a new market.

I lived through the Sneijder speculation and Julie B with the Japanese player locked in her basement but the Rashica thread pushed me over the top. Now it's just lack of football to watch,  endless transfer bollocks intensified by our success under Emery but lurking on other club threads it doesn't seem anywhere near this level of bollocks links

Dale stevens.  How could u forget him
