  1. Id take Richarldson off spurs if cheaper than they bought him for.  Don’t know why Spurs never played him but he would suit Emery’s system.  Complete work horse to.  Gave 150% every game for a shit everton team

  2. There is a really good show that just came on the bbc iplayer on Argentina winning the world cup.  He’s  commenting the complete way through it.  He’s adored in Argentina, next to Messi. Really is crazy how we have him.  Villa will be known throughout Argentina by everyone.

I doubt we were even interested in this player, so dont' know why seeing lots of people on twitter talking as if we've missed out on a target and that him seemingly going elsewhere is some sort of big blow to our plans, it's not even as if he was linked by any reliable or semi-reliable journalists, and wouldn't really make much sense for us to go for him, as two of our best players already play the position he plays, Luiz or Kamanra not getting dropped, so we were never likely to spend half of our transfer budget on another player for that position, and yes we need a couple of good players for every position, so we might bring in amother midfielder that can play DM, but we're not at the level yet where we can have players worth £40m plus and have them as back-up players.

Guendouzi or someone of a similar style much more likely, as can do a sound job as DM, but also offer competition to McGinn and Ramsey in the advanced roles, Guendouzi, Dendoncker, Luiz, and Kamara, not bad options for the two central midfielders, plus McGinn and Jacob can play there too if needed, with Iroegbunam potentially an option in the coming seasons as well, and watch how quicly Bogarde's reputation soars next season after a Championship loan, there's also the potential signing of Ibrahima Bamba.

I think the big money more likely to be spent further up the pitch.

But he had his own thread instead of being in transfer speculation thread, so we must have been talking to him

Buendia seems to really split opinion. I rate him.

I think it comes down to what you think he’s meant to be doing in the team.

If you’re focused on the end product around the box, then yes I can see that too often it doesn’t come off … doesn’t quite get the weight of the pass right, doesn’t score enough goals. Those are fair criticisms.

But I think the way Unai uses him is as more of a linkup player in the transition, all over the pitch, with his fantastic work rate and confidence receiving the ball. It’s the stuff he does deeper that always impresses me, very quickly turning defence into attack with a little turn or touch, and then helping the team drive up the pitch.

I’m struggling to think of a comparable player in that respect, and I think it’s no coincidence that he has been a regular starter when we’ve been in exceptional form.

But I also agree there are players out there who will deliver that final ball and / or score goals more efficiently than him. We have one in our own squad already in Coutinho. But I’d rather start Buendia over Coutinho.

That’s it in a nutshell.  Depends on what you want.  Very rare you have both in a player.  I don’t think the Coutinho type will suit an Emery team.

Buendia reminds me abit of what Dirt Kuyt used to bring to Liverpool.  He got alot of abuse from the fans when he was there.  They didn’t properly realize what they had to he was gone.  Cult hero there now

A Saints fan was on Talksport when I was travelling back from the game. He was saying that Ward Prowse is poor at passing and is basically just a set piece specialist.

You int a good passer, you int coming to Villa.  Along with work ethic and attitude, its top of Emerys list for a player

Have to mention his bicycle kick pass at the edge of the box out to moreno. Not something you see everyday

I don’t think ive ever saw an overhead kick pass before where it was intentional

Would be very happy with this signing. Was surprised City sold him as thought he was holding his own in their squad even at the young age.

Don’t think they wanted to.  He wanted to go

Surprisingly we haven’t been linked to a RB to much.  Its by far the weakest part of the team.  Good has young as been he doesn’t last a full match either.
Id bet that that position will be one of first filled.  Also don’t get why we’re been linked to lb’s, unless Dinge has already gone or going

Going in the summer. Just doesn’t fit in and for some reason not showing the form he did for Leverkusen.

He won’t be.  We won’t get half what we paid for him, so best keep for squad

  10. Couthino will be gone.  He def doesn’t strike me as a Emey player ie pressing the defence like Buendia does consistently.

Has been linked to Saudi league.  Wouldn’t be surprised if thats already been sorted and we aren’t risking playing him.

  11. Good and all as he has been, a world class RB has to be our number one priority in transfer window.  Utd targeted him every chance they got in first half.  Guy who is coming 38 can’t be our RB next season

It would help us if Spurs lost tonight and managed to beat Liverpool on Sunday, or at least draw with them.

Id probably disagree.  Get daylight between spurs and ourselves and Liverpool and us can settle for 5th/6th.  Especially given Liverpools easy run in.
