See more chatter about him leaving with Barca now the club … Thats a move i wouldn’t discount as his game is suited to them and I guess it’s most players dreams to play for them regardless of how much a basket case club they are. They also have a number of players I’m sure we’d be interested in - Balde, Araujo, Faye, Lopez , Koundé etc…. cannot wait for his new contract to be confirmed which I feel is the  most likely outcome

I would discount because Barca haven’t a pot to p1ss in and need to raise a lot cash before end of June.  They are pretending to their fans when they talk about big money buys.

They said United, now Liverpool. Next week it will be Arsenal (you know he’s an Arsenal fan?????) and the week after it will be Spurs. The reality is no one can afford him and Ollie will be leading the line for a Villa team in the CL for the first time ever!

Obvs its BS, but for Arguments sake what would Villa sell him for.  If 100m came, i think they would sell.

would kalvin phillips on a season long loan be a good option if hes anywhere near fit - or we think hes a busted flush now ?

No.  Westham couldn’t get shot of him quick enough

    1. He's cheap

    2. He's better than Scott McTominay, who some on here were suggesting we sign in last summer/ this winter

    3. He's a different player to the one who we last saw in a Villa shirt (which for context was during the season Keinen Davis made 18 appearances, so yeah a long time ago)

    4. It's not even the end of May

    5. He's 6'14", which will appease those mentioned in #2

No1 for me should be he played under a tactical inept manager when he was last here.  To get best out of players like him, everyone needs to know what they are doing

Yes to Gallagher - if it is possible. Chelsea surely selling him now though.

Gallagher is good but def not world class.  Dont let him being English cloud your judgement.  Sky and the likes hype English players up to something they aren’t

    Shopping list for me:

    LB, RB, CB, CM, winger

Nico Williams would be the dream.

I read somewhere that Arsenal and Chelsea had both cooled their interest in Nico Williams as he was looking crazy wages

Barkley is a surprise IF true. Injuries withstanding, he did well here before so under Unai you’d imagine he could excel - used sparingly and precisely.

Lets  not rewrite History.  He was Dross for us and most of the fans were glad he went back to Chelsea.

In saying that, he was under a totally inept manager technically, under Emery i think he would actually be a decent signing.  We need to boost the squad and he won’t cost the world as on free.

He hasn't disrespected villa christ. Until we sell him can we stop pretending to know what is happening behind the scenes off a couple of off hand comments that obviously weren't meant the way people are taking then.

Its twitter and chelsea likes.  Anyway best we take to Duran page

  9. Id sell Duran for right money.  Probably turn out to be world class but you can’t disrespect Villa like he has done.

You think, City, Liverpool, Arsenal club/fans would put up with one of their players liking Chelsea tweets every chance they got.  No chance.

I think Villa is going to be shopping in the Free transfer market this summer supplemented with some low priced “wantaways” and high potential youngsters

maybe 1 or 2 marquee signings if we got/get the budget

Think you have covered every type of player there

I think that's silly we desperately need a second one so we can handle the fixture congestion even when Kamara is back. Having only 1 DM is part of why Kamara got hurt.

But we aren’t going to take in 2DMs right?

He's completely lost his forward passing, maybe it's the lack of security without Kamara but for so much of the season he would get the ball and immediately look up and put those brilliant passes in to Ollie or whoever.  It's just not happening for him, it's not working with McGinn either.

Probably lack of security is down to Martinez not being in goals.  Hence you double think every pass

I am not keen on this at all, end of the day the wage will be enormous and the lad turns 29 in the summer under the backdrop of us also having two 31 year old centre backs. It's just not sensible business.

You can't get rid of mings because of the injury and there is little point selling him once he has proven himself physically capable again due to age so he is here till his career ends or contract ends leaving you with 3 left footed centre backs, 27,29,31.

I hear what you’re saying but we are going to be in CL fingers crossed.  His experience, having played in it for years will be invaluable.  We don’t have many of those players, getting one on a free is great bit of business.

  14. Past 3 halfs of football show how important he is to us.  Forget the saves he would have made that olsen didn’t, he controls the tempo of the game with ball at his feet and can pass to create an attack.  Plus gives defence and midfield so much confidence.

If we have to sell a player, hes top of my list of players not to sell.
