Can’t see us keeping a clean sheet

Anyone else getting irritated by that Gnonto? He’s a typical little Leeds player isn’t he? Dirty scrappy and whiney

Watkins really isn’t very good which is a shame because he’s a nice chap

There’s something about losing to Leeds that really winds me up. Possibly from the rivalry in the championship days (one particular game/ goal in particular). Rodrigo is also a very annoying man.

Arsenal signed Arshavin after the window as well let's not beat around the bush. Sure it was like the day after.
The absolute worst thing about it was not only were we like 8 points above arsenal but like 12-13 above Everton and they still reeled us in and overtook as the form collapsed. Very similar to being top of the league at Xmas 2000 then collapsing and finishing 6th. This mental midget problem has been pervasive for ages
I remember o Neill’s excuse for this being “they just ran out of steam” then sign some players who can actually make it through a whole season!

January transfer window happened. Arsenal buy a bang in form Andrei Arshavin, we turn down the opportunity to sign a 22 year old Radamel Falcao in order to buy a 31 year old Emile Heskey. Falcao scored 34, 38, 34 & 36 goals in his first four seasons in European football (he signed for Porto who sold him to Atleti for an enormous profit) whereas Heskey scored 2, 5, 6 & 1* goals in his four seasons at Villa Park.
*yes, I'm aware you can't pluralise 1, but it's not my fault Emile Heskey couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.
I remember this well. I honestly think this was the moment Villa dropped off the radar in going forwards. Who knows what could have been had we got Falcao and not Heskey.

I find it ironic that it’s now harder to get villa tickets than ever before without a ST or membership (I myself have a membership and even then it’s hard to get the sort of seat you want) and yet the atmosphere is worse than it’s ever been. I remember 2008-2009 era - you could pick up a decent ticket the day before the match. These days, tickets are gold dust if you don’t pay extra and yet demand is so high but the atmosphere is so bad? Doesn’t add up and doesn’t make sense.

All I can ask for at this point is that the players are so hurt by Sundays result that it inspires them to rocket up the league.

It’s gone midday, and I’m still feeling just as humiliated as I did at the full time whistle. Reckon any of the players are still feeling that?

I felt exactly the same when my lad asked me 4 hours before kick off if I wanted to go. Did I really want to go? after all it was on the TV. Mrs T said you know you will enjoy it once you are there. I wonder how long I will keep going. I am 65 on Wednesday and will be VTID but the call is not the same. I will continue to wear the colours and follow every game. As I said in a previous comment I enjoyed the time with my lad and grand daughter. But it has become an effort, I haven't felt like that before 55 years of home and away games. I wonder if its an age related thing for me, Did I go for my family or for myself. I feel I have lost something
I honestly think it’s the dross that we put out week in week out. If we had players out there who gave everything for the badge then even the losses would be easy to take. But the players can’t be bothered, so I’m not surprised you’re struggling to muster the energy to go.

Ok. I’ve slept on it and had time to reflect. And yeah, I still feel utterly embarrassed and humiliated. Worst thing is, I bet those players out there yesterday are totally over it now and not giving it a seconds thought.

We've lived through some very depressing times with Villa. We are obviously now in a great position relative to our last 30 years. Perfect owners. Perfect manager. A few really good players. But it's just not happening yet. I think because we are so anticipatory about the next steps up that we stumble upon the immediate step. It's incredibly frustrating. I try not to let Villa anger me, but I'm **** angry tonight. I was really looking forward to an FA Cup run with Emery. But these players are just a collective calamity every few games. Same old Villa. I'm so fed up with the mediocrity.
Agreed.

And that sums up why this club is going nowhere with this current crop of “players”.

I think the saddest thing for me is all these stories about how people are no longer enjoying going. And I’d have to agree. All because we have players who don’t deserve to wear the shirt ruining it for people who would do anything to play for this club.

I’d love to have been a fly on the wall in that dressing room. Wonder what UE said to them.

I was pissed off when the fans booed at half time on Wednesday, but no issue with it today. Deserved.
I definitely think there’s a place in football for boo’ing. Today was a prime example of that.

I brought over my Arsenal supporting friend who has a soft spot for the Villa and now I'm just embarrassed for the both of us frankly.
You deserved a better performance! That’s for sure
