  1. why is our kit manufacturer and sponsor getting worst season by season? it would be less embarrassing to have no sponsor at all and the shirts made by the local junior school kids.

Championship Season starts August 7th - in just over 13 weeks.

Before this time we need to:

    Get a new owner.

    Get a manager + staff

    Offload some players.

    Buy some players.

Have a good pre-season - starting in 7 weeks, assuming we want a 6 week pre-season. (Who's arranging this btw?  Usually we know where we are going to be based by now).

I predict a slow start due to the amount of changes that need to happen.  If we can stay in touch up to Christmas we will be in with a shout.  What I think will happen is that the predicted slow start will result in pressure, hostility and it will make things harder.  New players will be written off too early, and old players will be reminded of this season.

as you put it like that, we're screwed, its rather quite depressing.

Out of contract players from Premiership this summer:-

    Watford:

    Joel Ekstrand (Centre-back)

ive signed him on football manager, hes done alright for me, my new olly mellberg, lol

not that he would be any good in reality, hasnt he just come back from a huge injury?

joking aside, theres still alot of good players on that list that we would hugely benefit from.

  4. yes indeed, small heath broke the contract between all midlands clubs back then that nobody would use the name of the city, but because they werent getting any recognition, they had to reseort to asshole tactics, not that we would expect anything less of course.

  5. this club has had the worst kit designs in the history of football, and it isnt helped by the crap kit manufacturers over the past few years, the sponsors have always been crap as well.

  6. just think fellow villa fans in years to come once we are reinstated to the premier league, somebody will make a dvd of the clubs worst ever signings, top will be of course nzogbia, second most likely that player who was only here a week, third probably richards.

anyway, we will look back on this with laughter and say what a crazy time it all was for the club, maybe...

  7. he says "nothing better than watching your son play football", i wonder if he realises this his mom has the same opinion?

anyway, the guy is of £60k per week, even with 2 weeks docked, hes still a fat greedy millionaire, why would anyone go to a weymouth caravan park when youve got that sort of money in the bank, looks like a complete publicity stunt to me, its too late for him to try and build any bridges with the club or its supporters.

  8. because they may have used stoke tactics to get as far as they have so far, and by that i mean bullying their way to wins, but they will be out of their depth in the champs league and they look embarrassing to british football.

also, and i would like someone to correct me on this as im not too clued up on the champs league, but i read that if they dont make it past the group stage, then england lose the 4th place next season, which even though it matters not to villa, its still better to see 4 english teams than 3, which is also a knock on affect of income?

so if the above is true, then ye, its a problem, they dont exactly ooze class either.

  9. with the club in such limbo like no other club would be, theres so many question which not even the club can answer, sort of team i want to see go into the championship...

    GK - MYHILL / steer / siegrist
LB - amavi / bennett / swift or kinsella
    CB - NEW CB / clark / donacien / baker / toner or lyons-foster
    RB - hutton / lyden
    LW - sinclair / calder
    CM - westwood / gardner / mason / veretout
    RW - traore / grealish / green
    S - ayew / kozak / gestede / sellers or robinson

  10. however lets look at it from his point of view for a moment, if you knew you were better than richards and lescott (which most of us even on here are) and they were getting picked ahead of you, you wouldnt be best pleased.

  11. its quite a simple formula, if he doesnt was the play, the club should want to pay, hes the one breaching his contract by refusing to do the task asked of him.

im not too clued up on contractual law, and i know football operates differently to the rest of the world, but there must be protection for the club against these high earners, surely footballers (and their agents) dont hold all the cards?

  12. i wouldnt sell them for that if i was in that position, but its clear richards is valueless, he is a gamble for anybody, a slight less of a gamble if you didnt have to buy him, as for gana and veretout, they may come better in the championship, but are they going to want to stay? doubt it, again, one awful season in the premier league also makes them a gamble.

  13. just watched motd

clearly lescott at fault for the first three goals, he has no legs, toner should of maybe attempted the tackle on the southampton player who got the cross in for the forth goal.

it also comes to something when your defensive midfielder can score 2 goals whilst the forwards are falling over each other like children in the play ground.

the team can defend, can man mark, cant run, cant tackle, cant pass and cant score.

  14. a keeper that had so much potential and promise, that started well, looked good, most of us were eager for him to take the number 1 shirt, but what happened to him? we all know what happened, villa happened to him, this place has a dark horrible black cloud of it that can turn the best players into shit.

  15. with the likelihood that we expect none, or only a few signings this summer with a transfer budget consisting of only what players are sold, what are all your opinions of income from players that are well, clearly going to be leaving or hoping to see leave, if we can scrape £10m together from the below, it might help.

    Guzan - £1m

    Cissokho - £1m

    Lescott - £0

    Okore - £3m

    Richards - £0

    Bacuna - £2m

    Richardson - £0

    Veretout - £3m

    Gana - £3m

    NZogbia - £0

    Gabby - £0

    Bunn - £0

    Sanchez - £500k

    Westwood - £1m

Crespo - £500k (read a rumour he wants to go back to Spain)

  16. theres been alot of mention of goal keepers on this thread, and i understand some think that bunn could do the job in the championship, but i dont think he could, so with that, i still stand by my opinion that i feel the best candidate for the no1 shirt would be boaz myhill, he would also be quite cheap as well, with steer as second choice.

as for defensive midfielders, how many of you would laugh if i said the name rohan ince?

  17. if any of us was to walk into a hospital theatre, put on an apron, picked up a scalpul and started to cut somebody open, would that make us a surgeon?

didnt think so, just because this oxygen theft puts on a pair of boots, it doesnt make him a footballer, but then again, theres many of them in the villa team pretending to be footballers when they clearly arent, there are sunday league players better than lescott and even half the team.

lescott really should consider if football is for him, maybe he would be better suited working in b&q helping people decide what shade of paint they should buy.

(EDIT: just realised ive wasted by 1966 post on lescott on this special day of st georges day)
