All the Asians around Birmingham pretty much support either Liverpool or Man Utd, what chance would we have in India when we can't get the locals of Indian sub-continent descent to support us

I think if a local Asian player made it at Villa then it would attract more attention to the club. Birmingham has a population of around 200k British Kashmiri people (of which I am one) and there are lots of Asian kids with massive potential waiting to be scouted on local pitches. Why any of them haven't made it is worrying. Easah Suliman should have been the poster boy in my opinion for my community and I'm disappointed he never made it.

    What age is Barry, 17?

Yeah. I think we will start introducing him into the side in a couple of years. Bed him in slowly but will probably be a long term replacement for Ings I guess as he's in a similar mould.

  3. Ideally League One loan this season, Championship loan next season. Ings can spend two seasons with us as a regular and hopefully Barry will be ready to take his place in the team.

  4. I think this is our best bit of business this summer - a player that has scored 20+ goals in a PL season, something we haven't had the luxury of in a long time.

Signing JWP would be the icing on the cake, the service Watkins and Ings would get from wide areas plus JWP's set pieces would be a dream for the likes of Mings and Konsa.

Right now I could care less about Gresford joining those dirty Mancs.

  5. His dad is showing us his whole family and the neighbours and the whole bloody town. What the heck is this? I've switched off. Not sure I can sit through this.

  6. If he leaves he'll most likely destroy the hero status he has in the city of Birmingham (and the surrounding areas) amongst a massive Villa fanbase, obviously being the main man around here is a big thing for him and to lose that might hurt him as he'll be treated with derision upon his return or even retirement. Will he care? Only time will tell.

Of course it is. Where did I suggest they weren't good passes? I was pointing out that the defending was woeful, which it was.

I was just making a general comment and observation really. Yes, the defending was poor but I was highlighting his ability which would be a major asset to us regardless of who we play.

  8. I would assume that Young's role in league games will be primarily as an impact sub or full back/wing cover. He will be a handy player to have around for a cup run given his wealth of experience. Maybe we can finally win something again?

He would have joined spurs a few years back had a fee been agreed. He said so himself.

Oh yeah, I know. Things are much different now and we are building a much stronger side than the one he was in when the writing was on the wall for him. I don't think it was his choice to leave, more like the club needed the cash to stay afloat.
