I hate to be negative, but I can't even let myself get too hopeful. If results stay as they are, a last day win will still keep them up if Sheff Weds lose.
And it's the hope that kills you.
Yeah annoyingly they can catch a couple of teams if Norwich put the reserves out.

Plymouth are worrying me.

Tonight is absolutely massive, winning doesn't guarantee anything but putting 9 points between ourselves and Spuds with their run in would be monumental. Hopefully Villa can shake off the random terrible performance when it counts (a bit like Arsenal away).
Win would be tremendous but a draw would also be decent.
7 PTS with 3 games in hand still puts pressure on spurs

Some of you guys need to get a grip.
This is reaching ridiculous levels.

How long have you got left on your term? Going onto Interest only may not be much less than what you were paying at the moment.
Only concern would be that the shorter your term remaining, if rates don’t come down in 2 years, then your monthly payments will be even higher when you go back onto repayment
25 years left.
The increase isn't going to kill us financially but I was just thinking of it as a short term pause with the hope that interest rates come down.
Yes it will slow down the rate but at some point my wife and I will inherit money and would look to pay a lump sum then in the future.

Personally I’d think about extending the term to reduce the impact on the monthly price rather than go interest only.
Is +£500 the variable rate it’ll go into at the end of the current fixed term, or is it the best deal available today?
Best deal available at the moment.

My mortgage is set to go up by about £500 in September.
Is it a crazy idea to remortgage with an interest only mortgage for 2 years and hope interest rates have come down when I remortgage again?

Basically benchmarking. What should a 4th placed team about to go into the Champions League generally get from the sponsorship opportunities available? Then has Heck beaten or done worse than the benchmark? Crowing about doubling the sponsorship, but still being a lot lower than other comparable teams isn't the best. I'm sure Heck will improve, but i would say improve first, then tell people about your actual achievement.
At the moment, he's passable on sponsorship deals, terrible on branding, and terrible on communications.
Matchday pricing is the next thing he will be judged on. It's like saying - i've doubled matchday revenue by doubling the prices. That Purslow was so crap he didn't even double matchday revenue. Whereas anyone worth the big bucks, would say something like - I've increased season tickets pricing by 3% but i've increased matchday revenue by 12% whilst also increasing fan satisfaction. Now that's clever work.
Well considering the awareness and ambition of our owners, you'd think Heck would be removed if he was doing a terrible job in most areas.
But he doesn't seem to be on the verge of being replaced.
Almost like he's doing the job the owners want from him.
If it was that easy to improve these deals based on just on pitch performance you'd think we could hire anyone to do it.

Is it? Emery has got us 4th and talked about in the media. Heck hasn't brought in more money than another 4th place team would command.
Again in the above interview, he seems to think he's done amazing. I could have been blindfolded and brought in double sponsorship for a 4th place team compared to a relegation fighting team when the last sponsorship deals were agreed.
He has branded us with AU1500 though, credit for that. No idea what that has to do with Villa though.
So he can't do anything then can he.
Successful sponsorship is just because of on the pitch stuff. Anyone could do it.
Amazingly, our owners trust him and haven't sacked him.

I want to believe this guy is the best we can get. I try to park the misgivings I have.
Then I remember that next year we potentially could have more exposure than we have ever had and that stupid redesigned badge (with a yellow lion, on pale blue with his head being shoved against the top of the new shoeld by the sqeezing in of the name and year underneath!) will be how we are represented and I just think "what a bad, bad job" has been made of that and how shoddy the treatment of fans' intelligence/ contribution to the first consultation was.
But that's subjective. You might not like it.
The aim is to build the brand and bring in more money. That's happening and then some.

Maybe we should trust the man to do his job.

Some really dislike Heck.
He was brought in to sort these things out and he's doing it.

I'd much rather it be the LB doing that. Torres as the LB doesn't inspire any trust in me. Whereas Konsa as the RB is good defensively.
Mings as the LB would make sense if he's fit enough.

Couldn’t care less about the merits or otherwise of VAR. I simply don’t like it, it disrupts games and takes away its spontaneity. I’ll take the game decisions as the ref sees it, warts and all.
Absolutely. I wanted VAR, I thought it was crazy we didn't have it but god I'd go back in a heartbeat now.

They seem to be really proud that Tom Brady went to the real Madrid game.
Couldn't be arsed to attend their actual game though.

I was worried that we'd thrown away all that he'd done with the appointment of Gerrard. But now it's nice to see his good work laying the foundations for the incredible job Unai has done.
Our key players are ones he brought to this club. He must feel some pride at that.

So what , one defeat doesn't define us. Emery will have a plan and we're a different team playing at a completely different level. We have grown, watch ollie and Rogers today, Bailey. Unplayable. We will beat them, I have no doubts .
I hope so. They had our number.
