In any other time you'd think that being the first current or former president in the history of the union to be convicted of a crime would be enough to finish him but standards in public life have so far degraded on both sides of the Atlantic that people like Trump and our wannabe equivilents over here think they can still get elected and play active roles. What happened to shame?

    Quite scary really.

Yeah but if add that context then could argue Wesley had a career destroying injury in that case.

Off the top of my head Balaban, Heskey, Collymore, Samatta were a lot worse for us. Holt, Crouch, Gestede as bad for me as well and most played in better sides

    I'm basing it pre injury.

Slow, weak, awful in the air, average hold up play and never looked like he kicked the ball properly. It was always a scuff type pass or shot.

Not sure who would make a criteria but probably struggles top 10 for me.

We had Baston and Samatta that season and they would be ahead of him. Keinan was there and some probably would include him because his goal record

When you add context, Baston and Smatta were panic short term gaps to try and fill.

Davis was a youth player with little expectations.

Wesley was a £20 million plus signing.

The difference now is in the utter uselessness of their main players.

Back in the day, they were never nice people, and they always stood for a political philosophy which I detested. But the likes of Macmillan, Heath, Heseltine, Hurd, Clarke, Major - yes, even Thatcher - had a degree of intelligence and competence in implementing their nasty policies. Even a slightly warped sense of honour.

The current lot are not merely nasty, they're blatantly corrupt, downright thick and laughably inept. I have little hope that Labour will be much better, but I fervently want to see the demise of this despicable bunch.

Cummings and Boris made sure that any decent human beings were removed from the party.

Brexit meant only the lunatics could fully advance.

  5. Scum might be harsh for some. But if you're voting for these now there's no excuse about you didn't know what you were voting for.

And if after these 14 years and especially the last few, you're saying yes please more of this, then I'd question the type of person you are.

Started well then finished very poorly literally blowing out his arse and becoming a passenger most the time he played, becoming pretty pointless. Personally I thought he was pretty shit. People are allowed to have different opinions without there being a narrative, at the end of the day the club will do what they want.

Like I said, if he comes in and does well then fair enough but I'm not chuffed about him returning or going to get excited about it ffs. I think there are much better players out there we could bring in. Each to their own.

Didn't he and a few others get bad cases of Covid?

  7. I know it's YouTube but his highlights this season show a different player to what I saw.

Strong and composed on the ball.

Looks perfect for how we play out from the back.

This makes no sense to me. He was trash here. I know we need some cover, be this doesn't make sense, he's had his chance and was terrible, he's older and slower now and having had a good season will be expecting a payday.

He wasn't trash. He was brilliant before his first injury.

He's also not playing in the same position and won't be starting week in week out.

Adds quality to the squad and will know everyone.
